My…read morewife and I requested two skylight shades to be installed/ordered as this is well out of my scope of handyman expertise. The owner Joy originally sent her son to measure/give a written estimate and we shortly after arranged to drop off a deposit and have items ordered. Late evening the day before our scheduled drop off, we were called stating that they were increasing the price as the son had provided a bad quote. After arriving to the store and questioning this we were also told while they were happy to take the deposit that they were no longer sure they could do the job and would have to send a more senior person back to evaluate. When they came back, almost a week later, the actual installer had to remeasure, as the owner's son had measured improperly as well, but said the job was of course doable. At that time the team seemed apologetic for the inconvenience and told us that if we trusted them they would make it right. As such, we decided as we had already invested the time to give the deposit and we were told they would be ready 4 weeks later for install. 2 weeks after, my wife called for an update and we were informed the shades shipped and due in the next day or two, but that since it was their busy season would not be able to schedule install until several weeks later (~5 week since ordering). 1 week prior to install we get a message saying they have to push back the date of install because the blinds weren't actually in/never even shipped. When talking to her son, he blamed a long term employee that "doesn't know how to use the computer" and when talking to Joy the owner, she states the person who originally told us everything was in while admittedly incompetent had worked their forever and allows it cause she is a loyal person. She then verbally berated me over the phone for making them upset! Do yourself a favor and go to a real store. These folks lie, continually change their story and misled us, particularly after taking our money. This experience has been nothing but a headache and a waste of our time.

I cannot say enough about how impressed by and pleased with Joy I am. Prior to meeting her, I met with several other companies, including the big box stores. From the minute I met Joy, I knew that I would be purchasing from her. She is one of those kind and pleasant people that exudes trustworthiness and competence. She was easy to communicate with, patient, and knowledgeable. She came to my house twice, to review selections, and spent way more time than she needed to, to make me feel comfortable with my purchase. Lately, I've noticed that customer service has gone down in quality, in many arenas. I rarely write reviews but in this instance I'm compelled to do so. We had Wainscot Solutions do…read morethe cathedral ceiling in our living room - the appearance of the room was completely changed, unbelievably! Talk about a "wow" factor - it turned out absolutely stunning. It wasn't that the room was ugly or anything - but it just didn't render itself to comfortable living. Plus the ceiling was popcorn textured. For years we didn't use it much except for a few hours during holidays because it seemed too cold and impersonal, without much character. We tried different wallpapers, different paint colors and even different styles of curtains/drapes - without much luck. But Michael transformed it. His eye to design is like an artist and his attention to meticulous measurement detail is like a laser beam. Within a short period of time he presented us with alternate designs and discussed merits of each. Best of all we DIDN'T HAVE TO REMOVE the popcorn texture - the installation of the wainscoting went right over it. His craftsmen fabricated the wainscoting at his shop and it was brought to the house in large pieces, ready to install. Scaffolding was erected on the wood floor (without a scratch) and the transformation began. The installation by his finish carpenters went without a hitch or surprise and all the pieces joined together perfectly without gaps - no sanding or cutting in the house was needed because of his attention to detail at the design and shop stages. The painters we used to finish the project were very impressed that they literally had to do almost no sanding before painting. This turned out to be, singularly, my best investment this year. We now use the room ALL the time. It looks not unlike an English Study or den and is so very warm and comfortable to be in. It just gives an incredible good feeling to be in. Your eyes can't help but go to the ceiling and enjoy the detail. The room opens up from the foyer and everyone who comes in the house seems to want to look into the room in admiration of the work and never fail to complement us on it's differentiation of character. And an added upside will be the benefit to us when we put the house up for resale, in price and ease of selling.

Why not! Turned out to be a great experience. Joni from Prestige Auto Upholstery reached out to say he could do the job. He was in the same town so very convenient for me. He gave me a price and a date he could start. We set up the appointment. The next day he texted me to tell me that he had an opening earlier if I wanted it. Great communication! I dropped the car off. It was done in 2 days just like he promised. The price was right in the range he quoted. He sent a text when he was done with a picture. I picked up the car and the new top looks perfect! So what did I like about Prestige? First they have a solid shop. You can tell they do a lot of good work. It's not a little place where they can only work on one project at a time. There were several BMWs in the shop when I was there, so people with quality cars trust them. Second, the communication was incredible! Very prompt, informative and clear. They make it so easy to work with them! Finally the work was done on time at at the price they quoted. No bad surprises!
