The owner is incredibly knowledgeable and can tell you about the origin of your carpet. If you are lucky enough, you might even get to see a repair in process. After reading many reviews we decided to give Zieglers a try. We had an Asian rug that was stored away and of course, the mice got to the fringe. I called and got Mr. Ziegler on the phone and he related many options available to me. We decided to give it a try, the estimates that were given weren't bad at all. Upon arriving at their business, again he went over all of our options and showed us samples of replacement fringe and explained the cleaning process. We also had a tour of the facility. Impressive! We decided to bring another rug that had red wine and Italian ice stains in to be cleaned. The end results were amazing, we are so happy that we have found their business and will be using them in the future. I also learned that they do home carpet and furniture cleaning! Miracles were performed and I am impressed! Our tile floors in our office were beyond being in desperate need of being cleaned and some spots looked so bad between dirt and printing ink, I didn't even know if a professional could get out the grounded in grime that got embedded in the floors over the years. They don't make 'em like this anymore. We bought a house that has floors of vintage, hand-made Mexican Saltillo tile. Sounds lovely, except that that several decades ago, somebody smothered the tiles in blacker-than-black stain, oil-based poly, and giant globs of black grout. Yet, despite their bad situation, these battered clay floor tiles radiated potential -- charming chinchilla tracks, a curved shape that felt like soft leather underfoot, and the hint that they could impart visual warmth (if only they weren't stained black)... We spent several months at a crossroads. Given their poor condition, we were torn between ripping out the tiles, or, finding someone who could restore them to what they should have looked like if only bad 1970s things (and several decades of wear) hadn't taken their toll. Enter Philip Ziegler and Jake from Ziegler Preservation Cleaning Specialists. They came, they knew what to do, and they did it. Several cans of solvents and three 100-degree days later, our floors are glowing. Suddenly, the hand-made clay floors have become a feature -- rather than a bug -- of our quirky little house. Philip and Jake somehow managed to remove all of the black stain and 99% of the disfiguring globs of black grout. Then, they sealed everything back up with several fresh, protective coats of clear shellac and polyurethane. Despite the heat and the hard work, Philip and Jake remained cheerful and professional throughout. Now the floors look great -- better than anything we could buy today. Had 4 or 5 good quality large rugs in storage for longer than I would like to admit. My son bought a house and needed them all. Ziegler met me at my storage place (right on time) and took them to be resized/cleaned/bound/delivered and installed. I called Zieglers Monday and they had a guy out to my house the next day. We have white carpets in the bedrooms that have beaten up by our dogs when they were puppies. I would give 10 stars if I could! The Ziegler team is amazing. I am moving from the shady woods to a very sunny home near the beach and wanted to protect all my oriental and non oriental rugs from fading. I had all my rugs cleaned and then microsealed to provide that extra sun protection. I feel so fortunate that there is a microsealing expert close by. I also had an oriental rug repaired where the braided border came undone in the middle of the edge. I don't know how they fixed it so wonderfully, but it looks as good as new. I had an Ikat rug where some of the cream colored edging had yellowed- they were able to brighten up the yellowing without damage to the other colors. magic! All my rugs look fabulous and I can lay them down in front of the great sunny windows without worry. Hands down, the best choice for rug care! read more

I took an impossible, eco-friendly area rug, stained in six places with dog urine, to Ziegler's. This was a very expensive rug...advertised as "eco-friendly bamboo"...and when I bought the darn thing the Canadian company went on and on about how easy it is to clean. WRONG! When my puppy did a number on the rug---oh and by the way it's light gray---I thought the rug had been ruined forever. The spots were bright yellow. You couldn't miss them. Mr. Ziegler is one of a kind. He is a "rug scientist" ---so knowledgeable and with a genuine passion for his work. He went out of his way to try two different treatments on my rug and the second time was the charm. Looks like a new rug now! I lived in NYC and Greenwich. I used the supposed top rug cleaners in both places. Let me tell you, they don't hold a candle to Zieglers in Danbury! Prices are fair and Mr. Ziegler could not be nicer or more professional. I'm an interior designer and had a very large custom wool rug made in Morocco and it arrived smelling like a flock of sheep and the fibers were long, uneven and unruly. I had little hope of making it what it was supposed to be, but wanted to try nonetheless. Ziegler took my rug, sheared it down, cleaned it and it is now perfection. March 2014 Dear Phil, I want to thank you for the recent work that you've done in my house. Your work on the wool hook rug was incredible. It has no spots and no snags now that you shaved it. The Chinese needlepoint from my front hall was restored beautifully. You can't even see the tear that marred it. The wall-to-wall carpeting and the indoor/outdoor carpeting on my 12 month room look clean and new. My hardwoods floors in the LR and DR had not been touched in 27 years and needed the TLC that you gave them, even without sanding. My kitchen hardwood floor was in terrible shape from the high traffic and the wax that my cleaning lady had used. You were able to take it down to the wood and bring it back to life. It looks brand new. Another high traffic area is my front hall and that parquet floor was restored and looks awesome. Though my whole house was being worked on, there was minimal disrutption for the 2.5 days that you and your team were here.
