It's not a really flat walk, but nothing too steep or difficult. Just enough to break a sweat! The parking area we were at had enough parking for maybe 4 cars. The road is a well maintained dirt road, not too pothole ridden but there were a few here and there. The road is also a beautiful walk, I would love to walk on it everyday if I lived here! I really like the forest itself, interesting but also calm and peaceful. Saw some squirrels and a few little frogs. A interesting flower, I'm not sure what type or if it was just dying? I took a picture of it! Come check it out and enjoy the woods for a little while!

I picked a hiking trail in Vermont after getting lured in by some stunning photos online. Inspired (and slightly delusional), I stopped and picked up a pair of Oboz hiking shoes and some solid hiking socks--thankfully, one of my better decisions. Let me be clear: this trail was no joke. It twisted, turned, and climbed in ways that made my heart rate spike enough to question my life choices. At one point, I genuinely thought I heard Bigfoot breathing down my neck--turns out it was just me gasping for air. Here are the stats: 4,083 ft summit 7.4 miles round trip 2,645 ft vertical rise 6 hours of hiking The mountain is known as Tawabodi-e-wadso, which means "The Saddle Mountain" in the Waubawakee Native American language. Yes, I did my research--mainly because I felt like I needed to know the name of the place that almost killed me. (Kidding... kind of.) But here's the real truth: it was absolutely worth it. The trail winds through beautiful groves of maple and oak, with peaceful river streams breaking up the climb. It was majestic, serene, and a perfect reminder of why nature is one of the best places to push your limits. And yes, the shoes held up like champs. Bottom line: A tough but rewarding hike--equal parts humbling and awe-inspiring. If you're looking to reconnect with nature and your cardiovascular system, this one's for you.

We are not experienced hikes and took us 5 hrs to finish. It is true that it is shaded the whole time, but no one mentioned about the amount of bugs on the whole trail. After asking a local, we find out that they are called "black flies". They are small and annoying little bugs that cling on to your skin and bite you. We put bugs spray but did not keep them away from us. Apparently they come in season that received alot of rain. (first week of June) And it just happens to hatch new eggs as the weather gets hot and wet. So if you plan to hike this with there is alot of rain, I suggest wearing a netted hat. Because these flies are soon annoying and just takes out the fun of the hike. Although it was not an easy hike with annoying bugs biting our skin, the summit was one of 360 view of the landscape. It is beautiful and view are breathtaking!!!!

Well maintained, not too challenging in regards to elevation and fairly safe. A little challenging to find trailheads with out a map but easy to navigate once on the path. Be sure to stop for a maple cremee along your trek!

This is a nicely maintained rail trail, a great resource for all levels of bike riders. Not for the…read moremountain bikers except to get a mild cardiovascular exercise. Surface is mostly a crush stone, better for fatter tires although I have seen some road bikes using it. No suspension is necessary on this ride. Trailhead begins just behind the Greek diner off Main Street, parking along the old rail right of way. I've not ridden further than Enosburg thus far. It terminates in Richford, VT. One interesting development is the eventual link-up of another, much longer rail trail known as the Lamoille Valle Rail Trail, which will travel East - West from Swanton to St. Johnsbury. There are a couple of benches or you can sit on the wall. And around the corner to the south, there is a trail that takes you down to the Winooski River. Stayed here from Saturday August 26th to Wednesday August 30th 2023 with my family. We checked in…read moreat around 4:31pm, after a bit of a long drive. We got there, and was very disappointed that they did not have cable hookup. My family likes to watch the news for the weather, plus i wanted to watch the last episode of Claim to fame which premiered monday. Anyways also we arrived and they put us near the lake, and we are a long trailer, and was concerned on where to park our car. So they moved us in a spot that worked. We also got a little refund as well. in the front, there is a general store, and they also sell sandwiches and coffee. On August 29th, i brought a lake champlain shirt there, and the people inside were very nice. Overall it is a small campground, and it does look like some kind of trailer park. However, it seemed pretty quiet and everyone seemed friendly that we seen. They also have a pool but did not go in the pool as it was kind of cool. Also there is not much things to do in vermont, including close by. Although we did stop by the blue paddle bistro. Don't think we'll visit vermont again, but this was a nice quiet campground.

The sites are spacious. Our dogs are right at home. There is a restaurant, store, farmers market, laundry ($1.25 washer/dryer), computer room, lots of books to read, pool, hot tub, rec room, etc. The list just goes on. Everything you could want and more. Also the beautiful huge lake. I've been sick this week or we would have been out on our kayaks! Highly recommend for groups, family get together. Kinda pricey but I would stay here again. *Will add more photos later

Awesome rail trail that runs from Burlington VT and over Lake Champlain. The trail is mostly paved,…read moreoff road, and has some epic views and pull offs to take in the wonderful scenery. We took the trail from North beach and pedaled 7.5 miles to where the trail breaks and you can take a ferry to the other side of the Chanel. This rail trail was the main attraction to our visit to Burlington, and it did not disappoint!
