Here is my review of clear lake for row boat use!…read more We got here at 930 am. Found the pay box at the entrance $9, no cash. There is an option to pay at the bottom which we should have done because they take the national park passes there (see picture). We were able to find parking in the main lot and there were a few people there. We weren't sure how the process of renting the boats or availability of life jackets. There is a shop that sells food, snacks, drinks, ice cream , and desserts. They also have a selection of fishing items, shirts, jackets. We paid for the boat - $60 for the large boat all day. The life jackets were plentiful and available. My husband rowed most of the time because I am not a good rower. We made it from the dock to the start of the river that you can't go past which is good since you could hear the rapids. The way to the left was a lot calmer and clear. We had a blast out on the lake. You could see down near the shallows but not in the middle of the lake. Make sure to bring sunscreen because there isn't much shade. The facilities are great!! Two bathrooms in the shop. Large tables to sit and enjoy a hot cooked meal or ice cream. I am so glad we were able to make a morning on the lake super easy and stress free! Next time I'm thinking of renting a kayak or a stand up paddle board. That would be fun! If you are in the area make sure to stop by early. As we were leaving, the parking lot was filled up so make sure to get there early! I hope my review and pictures help you plan for a successful visit to Clear Lake!

I was very impressed already.! we drove in , I was like wow this Rv Park is really clean, picked up our stuff at the door as it was after hours, easy to find our site plugged in for the night spacious site as we're towing a trailer behind our camper van, and nice picnic tables, well groomed lawn, I only wish I had booked a few more days here! It's the first part of May, Mother's Day weekend, I was really surprised at how cheap it was to stay here for one night, now I'm curious about the summer prices, this place is beautiful! I was really impressed the next morning as we're leaving, not finding a place to put our trash, and a guy in the golf cart gave us a trash bag and he took our trash from us as they have curbside trash service, now this is super nice! I think this is the nicest park we have ever been to and we have camp for the last 30-40 years! after we hooked up and everything we took our little dog out for a walk to see the area, and then we saw this log cabin and I thought oh wow, that's a nice place to stay, but I didn't see any markings on it so we walked in a little further and it's the restroom in the showers, this place is spotless, I took a shower in my RV, but I kind of almost wished I would've tried out their showers because this place is so spotless! I will definitely be back to be able to stay a little longer and enjoy the pool with the spa and some downtime, thank you for a very nice place!

What we didn't expect was the absolutely first class experience of staying at this true RV resort! We arrived on a hot summer day, covered in dust from our forest adventures, and were glad that we could check in a bit early (we'd called from town and yes, our spot was already clean and available). Upon checking in at their extremely well-appointed (and very friendly) from office, we were guided to our site by a nice gentleman in a golf cart. He showed us around the site, including locating all of the plug-ins and informing us about when the lawn is watered daily so we could avoid being sprayed. He also told us about a few great perks, like just leaving your trash or recycling at the end of the campsite and it would be picked up hourly. Or the fact that their well-appointed on-site grocery store would deliver ice, beer, or pretty much anything you wanted to your site free of charge! Besides the over-the-top service, this resort is absolutely beautiful. There's a reason "garden" is in their name. The roadways were lined with all sorts of well-groomed plants and beautiful, blooming flowers. And there were constantly maintenance people around pruning, trimming, mowing, and just taking darned good care of the place. The resort also features a pool (which we didn't have a chance to enjoy), and (in addition to the well-stocked grocery store) an equally impressive RV parts shop and large gift/souvenir area as well. The only improvement I would personally make to this park is to offer some sort of shuttle to town, especially when there are events. But that's a minor critique as the location is just perfectly situated between Sisters and Bend, and within a few minutes drive of recreational opportunities and plenty of food. Highly, highly recommend staying here!

The drive out from Portland is long, but after you get here the trip is really enjoyable, we often try to plan a night somewhere closer. It's 12$ for a 2 hour visit, they do take credit cards. We tend to be here mid week mid day so we have not had any issue with parking. There are always other people present, but it has never seemed overly busy. The staff we interact with are always very pleasant. There is a bathroom in the parking lot. It's a short walk up to the hot springs, I'm confident mostly anyone could do this. It's nice to feel like you are in nature. I imagine this was a much more beautiful area before the fires, but I am thankful that it did reopen and is usable. Do make sure you bring some water to stay hydrated while hot springing. Do be aware that sometimes people are unclothed at hot springs. Also know that hot springs are hot and this may not be how you want to spend a hot day. There are multiple pools of multiple sizes which do vary in heat. There is a small stream with cold water running nearby. There are places to sit where you can be partially in the water. If you are planning to walk around a lot you may want water shoes as these rocks can be hot on your feet. We always have a nice time and leave feeling rejuvenated. I keep meaning to look into camping options nearby. I'd love to experience this with some friends on my next visit.

There is a 2 hour time limit, I think that is annoying (they mark the time on your receipt that goes on the dash of your vehicle). The parking area is tiny and the chalk lines are far too narrow, difficult to put a normal size car in the lines let alone a truck. There are a LOT of rules. Can't do this, can't do that... on and on. But oh, you don't have to wear clothes. It's just over controlled. There is a really gross toilet at the springs -some sort of belt driven system, yuck, a pit toilet would have been better. There were 26 people there when I got there and it felt crowded. I can't imagine the 50 people they allow, that would be ridiculous. The water was nice and warm. I wouldn't rush to go back.

We went snowshoeing during the day but could have gone downhill skiing at Hoodoo or visited Sisters just as easily. We stayed in a yurt, temps in the 20-30s, but our yurt was so warm and comfortable, not to mention spotless! You do need to bring all your own supplies for sleeping and cooking. Its like camping in a ginormous tent! So much room!! There is a microwave and minifridge, and we used our own portable propane campstove and bbq for cooking. There is no internet/wifi so at night we played games, read and danced (did I mention they are huge?). The public flush toilets and showers were also very clean and in great condition. A super fun, unique winter experience. We will for sure be back!!

The cabin had a bed, a table with two chairs, and a gas cook stove (which we did not use). It also had a thermostat-controlled gas fireplace which kept the place nice and warm. The place was pretty small, but adequate for our needs. The big downside was that the overhead light was a very harsh fluorescent light. There was also no porch light. The restrooms were pretty decent, although the TP in the women's bathroom was almost out by Sunday morning. There are plenty of moths, spiders, and other bugs in the bathrooms, which is unpleasant but to be expected. Nearly every single sign is in Comic Sans which makes it feel like the place is run by a bunch of college interns. The lake itself is very beautiful. I recommend doing the five-mile loop hike around it, or renting a boat.

The campground is divided into three loops, each with its own character. The North Loop offers water and electric hookups, with sites that are more widely spaced than the others--something I really appreciate. That extra room makes it feel quieter and more private, and it's probably where we'll book our next stay. The Middle Loop has full hookups, while the South Loop is the busiest, featuring full hookups as well as some cabins. . There are many hiking/cycling trails (dog-friendly), and the Deschutes River runs through the campground. There is a short hike to a waterfall, and a large dog park. Unfortunately, we were a bit restricted in our outdoor activities because of the smoke from the two fires in the area. There was actually ash falling on one of the days. Also, there had been several sightings of a mountain lion in the area, so that added a bit of caution to our activities. Nevertheless, we will definitely come back.

This amazing camp is making me re-think. We came during COVID, so the pool, clubhouse , and other amenities were closed . They look nice! Of course, everything looks clean when nobody is using it. Like other Thousand trails parks, all sites are first-come-first-served. Extremely annoying, but the sites here are relatively flat and large. We had plenty of space for our RV, a tent , and 2 cars. ALL sites have electric and water (their website says otherwise), so it is not as hard to find a site as it is at other locations. None of the sites have sewer. We knew this going in, but it did limit how long we could stay . This is the first Thousand trails we have been to that had phone service and wifi available throughout the park. The Little Deschutes River goes right through the park , and this is a great spot for swimming and floating. It is small, but very fun. The park map shows two bridges that are good float start and end points, but we could never find them. During non-COVID times , they have a shuttle for a longer float, but it was not available. I definitely recommend having a car available. We rented one from Hertz for $20/day and it made our trip . Bend is nearby with lots to do . There is no Uber or Lyft in the immediate area. My complaint about this park is that they do not allow charcoal BBQ. We understand the fire ban , but not being able to use our BBQ was a pain.
