Okay - this is JUST about customer service, not the facility. A person who was apparently travelling through Oregon and stopping at KOAs along the way got my phone number put into the system rather than his. So I started getting his text confirmations and other information. This happened at two KOAs - Central Oregon and Klamath Falls. Klamath Falls people didn't care and became snarky and abruptly ended the conversation (refusing to even try to correct the information in their system). Central Oregon, however, was the exact opposite. Not only did they immediately recognize the problem and what it meant, but the woman who answered remembered 'Mike' and immediately contacted him to correct the information - then followed up with me to let me know it was fixed. This was absolute night and day - from complete indifference at Klamath Falls to truly caring customer service at Central Oregon. Nice to find a business who values their customers! read more

This campground has a lot of full timers and some very "junky" RV's. Actually the worst KOA I've ever stayed at. My premium space has no grass (lots of weeds) and faces a permanent unit that is very unsightly and has a seriously noisy air conditioner. For 73 bucks a night, I expect more.​ read more

3/5... Power kept going out due to high temperatures... Wifi never worked which means the TV didn't work in the cabins (not here to watch TV anyway so that's fine, just something to note). Unfortunately they didn't have many gluten free options for breakfast. The pool could also use a revamp... BUTT i will say they have lots of fun activities for kiddos and pizza delivery to your site (no gluten free pizza)! We enjoyed sifting through rocks and collecting gems! Bathrooms were updated and some of the best I've seen at a campsite. read more

Location was perfect and got me close to Crater lake which was very helpful. Store is fully stocked and laundry room is nice and clean. Hot water showers and well maintained sites. The stuff must have to deal with lots of people who don't know common sense while camping. The one staff member seemed like she was just all about the rules, spouting them off like I was not a well camped person. I chalked it up to who she has to deal with. They have an ice cream social but unlike other Koa's the fee was $2.50 one scoop and $5.00 two scoops..... I got two scoops well that was foolish on my part. They gave me a pint of ice cream. Excellent value for the price of you ask me. All you can eat breakfast was offered however I didn't get it but it smelled really good. Just get the tokens for the extras in the general store. The food truck doesn't take payment. Well worth the sunset. Enjoy! read more

I can't really recommend this place, simply because what it offered, was not worth the price. If I'm going to pay $140 per night for a camping cabin with no bathroom, then I expect KOA Staff to do their job with the things under their control. Power constantly going out? NOT under their control, due to local infrastructure limitations. Filthy bathrooms and cabins? Totally under their control. In fact, with all of the online reviews mentioning the filth, one would think this would be addressed. Homeless person living in an RV next to our cabin and smoking like a chimney? Totally under their control and should not be allowed. In the bathroom, the fans didn't work, toilet paper was frequently out and they close the bathrooms from 9-10 am every morning for cleaning. Weird time since most people wake up, eat breakfast, have coffee and hit the can. Closing it in prime time is bizarre. It's also hard to get to the common areas since they didn't build any easements within the rows. To get to the common areas, you have to walk around in a complete circle with nowhere to cut through the property. The last thing I'll mention is that there's nothing interesting near this KOA. The one reservoir nearby was low and full of seaweed. The boring location and the seaweed are not the fault of KOA Staff. But it's just another factor that makes this place very overpriced. read more

Good for an overnight. Got a text saying the campsite was full and they were experiencing power problem. We called ahead to ask about the power problems and they basically said they have old wiring and things go out sometimes. Because of cancellation policy we were not able to look elsewhere. When we arrived the park was not close to being full. Maybe 60%. Good news is the electricity did not go out at any time. It's close to the highway, it was quiet and a good place for one night to sleep as we traveled on. There are certainly cheaper places close. read more

Our reservations made months in advance got cancelled last minute due to the pandemic, but KOA was there to the rescue not only did they save the last spot for us as we where still 2 hours away at 7pm they stayed open late for us and kept the kitchen open $22 for a cheese pizza is kinda pricey but not having to grill at almost 10 pm because we arrived late was totally worth it. They have bikes for all ages a pool, playground, well maintained bathrooms. They even have 4 cabins available if you're not into camping the old fashioned way ;). read more

We only stayed one night, and I have to say I was extremely impressed having never stayed in KOA before. We called on the road to see if they had an opening and was very pleasantly greeted on the phone and arrangements were made. When we arrive, we checked in at the front desk to find that there is a very clean and tidy store. We were given the map and instructions And told that things would get a little louder for the night before it got dark. They do a light parade for the kids and they had an ice cream social last night. Kids were playing and happy everywhere! They were playing out in the grassy area, they were in the swimming pool, they were just having fun! I don't think I've ever heard so much singing and laughter in one place. I was also told that they had all you can eat breakfast for $10 in the morning. I will definitely recommend this campground. read more

Best KOA we have ever stayed at. Clean, quiet, about 1 mile off 97 so there is zero traffic noise. Neighboring property has a few horses that are friendly and occasionally let you feed them. Plenty of kid friendly things to do like pedal carts, a great playground and equipment for games like badminton, basketball and horse shoes. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Pool is immaculate. We drive 97 at least twice each year and will drive an extra hour to stay here. I've read the other reviews and don't understand the negative remarks. Never had any issues here. There was a power outage (out of their control) the last time we checked in (yesterday) and still the staff went over the top to do what they could to take care of us. Highly recommended!! read more

We have been traveling for 3 weeks, this was one of the worst KOA's. I requested not to be by the pool. It was extremely loud. They put us on an end space with no trees and it was in the low hundreds. When we returned from our day the electricity was out. I had to go to the office and they state the problem was the circuit breaker and they would get it fixed ASAP. After 2 hours, the tailer was at 95 Degrees and climbing. I again asked and ask the office staff about status and they said there working on it. I also received a call from the office stating use only 1 air conditioner at a time. I would if we had power. The WiFi was very bad also. Not sure if we would stay there again. read more

Wonderful campground! This location is approximately 40 mins from Bend. It's 20 minutes to the Smith Rock state park. Which if you haven't been- we highly suggest. We attended the Saturday night "ice cream social." The scoops were huge and the staff was super friendly. You can't beat the price. I don't know any other campground that makes and delivers pizzas to your site. We didn't get the chance to order one, but that's a great option when your trip took longer than expected and you don't want to cook. The sunsets here overlook Mt. Jefferson and are truly spectacular. My husband said the restrooms were private and clean. read more

The deluxe cabin we reserved wasn't very deluxe. The bed was old and run down, it literally had a dip in the middle. Ever time you moved in the bed, it squeaked. The bunk beds had mattresses that were actually too small for the bed. The bathroom in the cabin was so tiny that they couldn't fit a sink in there, so we had to brush our teeth in the kitchen sink. The water heater for the cabin was extremely small, so even though the cabin can hold four ppl, you all can't take showers the same night, and if you do you would need to give the water heater time to heat the water back up (such and inconvenience when you've been in the great outdoors for four days straight without a shower). The small air conditioner in the cabin took forever to cool it down, it was located in the only window in the cabin with curtains too long to close because if you did, you would block the air. One window also meant we had no privacy from our neighbors because we had to keep the curtain open at all times. The door knob on the cabin did not fit the hole, so you always have a little bit of light peeking through. This cabin is poorly taken care of and definitely not worth paying for. read more

The star light parade on Saturdays was a big hit for our family. We had a blast putting on all of our glow gear and singing along to Aumbery KOA cheer as we marched around all the camp sites. The fun games they had for all the kids after like red light green light, zombie tag, the "big race" and sharks and minnows was an added bonus. Even the big kids had a blast. Highly recommend this KOA to anyone who would enjoy this little activity for kids of all ages. All the extra amenity's like the pool, clean showers and restrooms, the awesome ice cream station make this place a go to for camping. read more

Once again KOA was a great choice for camping. This place was great. Out of the way and quiet. We even heard a pack of coyotes calling in the night. There's a general store that sells adult beverages (a must for camping). The mangers were super nice. They even had an ice cream social one evening for everyone in the campground! The bathroom was huge and heated with plenty of hot water. The first night we stayed in a tent but it was chilly so we decided to change to a cabin the next night. The wonderful staff were able to get us a small cabin instantly. And just when I thought this campground couldn't get any better I discovered a group of kids searching for frogs. Apparently two species of frogs utilize this campground. I ended seeing over 40 Pacific chorus frogs! Being a herpetologist this was very exciting. :D If we're ever in the Redmond/Bend area we will definitely be back to this KOA. read more

We rented an RV spot from Madras/Culver KOA. We have a toy hauler with our quads and dirt bikes parked in front and our Raptor parked in front of that. We set up a chicken wire fence around our campground on posts to keep our two Australia Sheppard off-leash but constrained. We are regularly complimented on this tactic and were complimented at this campground also. 24 hours into our stay ...the manager? came by telling us to take the fence down. First stating that "people complained", then changed to "people might complain", then stated that "if it was a fence purchased at petco it would be ok but this looks ....", and finally said that "any bad reviews would kill her and we need to take it down" Also the campground is like a parking lot, no seclusion at all. One whole lane of trailer spots are residence of which is not the most comforting appearance of safety. read more

While staying at this KOA on Oct 13-14, 2023, on the 14th @ 4pm, the water went out. I went to the office and was told that there was a break in the water line that affected all sites, that it was deep, and would need significant work to repair. Was told it could be fixed quickly or take over 24 hours to repair. Not wanting to gamble on no water, I decided to leave and I told the office that I was going to and I wanted a refund for the one night. She said she would work it out. Moments before we pulled out, the water came back on, with huge water pressure. We had already broken camp and were in the truck when that happened. I called the next day and the office said she misunderstood and wouldn't refund the overnight stay. A discussion ensued, she said she would work on it and let me know. She never called. Frankly, this KOA looked run down, unkept, with the sites no way matching the pictures. DO NOT RECOMMEND. (and they owe me for one night). read more

The stay was interesting, i was charged a $100.00 fee for damages, due to the accusation i smoked in their cabin, which never did i do, i smoked outside, which they witnessed..i paid the linen fee, but wasnt provided them until after 9pm, and the sheets were the wrong size, the portable heater, was broken, the housekeeper, does not like working with the public. The owner is very nice, so is the lady in the office. I havent looked at my final bill, almost afraid to, after seeing the $100.00 fee reciept for damages, charged for an act that never happened in their cabin at the Koa. read more

We rented two full hookup sites months ago, for 5 nights and after the first night we had no power. The breaker kept tripping which is terrible for campers. This location is not set up to have campers use electricity all at the same time. Disappointing and inconvenient. read more

If your children have adopted a sedentary lifestyle this summer, then drag your family 100+ miles to this KOA. Once there,You will notice that most tent sites are close together, so here is your chance to practice social skills. With a convenience store on site, meals come easy. If volleyball, horseshoes and rock hounding isn't enough to keep you and the kids busy, then Smith Rock State Park is nearby. After which the KOA pool offers sanctuary during hot dessert days. At night, campfires are everywhere. Stars shine overhead like you've never seen them before. And adults get their drink on while playing cards after sucking down s'mores with the kids. Watch out, as dogs are plenty. Usually these later hours are used for laundry, showering, or washing dishes provided by KOA near the office. For free. The prices vary by choice of camp. About $50 a night by average. Well worth the small investment. We will make this a yearly trip. read more

Perhaps someone with an RV would have a different view, but as tent campers, we were not super happy with this campground. In the women's bathroom, one of the four sinks was broken, and one of the toilets was also broken. In the men's bathroom, there were plumbing issues as well. There were unsupervised dogs running around the park. While there is a designated "walk your dog" area, some of the dogs seem to feel that any open area was theirs to use. The few tent sites were very close together. In general, there was trash and cigarettes on the ground. On the positive side, they had an ice cream social where it was only one dollar per scoop and they had an all you can eat breakfast for five dollars. We did not participate in either event, but it looked like it was popular. The place needs some TLC. read more

We stayed in Central Oregon KOA in August 2017 on a way home from vacation. The KOA is conveniently located alone HW 97. However, the convinces stop here. If you plan on getting any sleep at night, you might want to skip this KOA. We were woken up n the middle of the night by trucks coming and going in and out of KOA. At 4:30 AM a huge truck took 20 minutes to unload train size garbage container right next to the tent sites. Imagine the lights, noises, screeching metal, all happening during quiet hours! By the time he was done, most of the campers were awake, some started packing and left early. We stayed in many KOAs, but this was the worst. We had to drive 7 hours the next day with no sleep. So much for rest and relaxation. read more

Worst KOA I have ever stayed in. We rented a cabin for the night. It was 30 degrees outside and we got there and the cabin didn't have a heater. I went to ask for one and they brought it to us, however it did not do anything. The cabin was so cold it was absolutely miserable. It's not insulated at all. We could hear our neighbors all night. Then, I went to the bathroom and the showers were FILTHY! Hairs in the shower everywhere.... I will never stay here again. read more

This is the worst campground I've ever been to! The showers are nasty, people there are rude, maintenance mans a jerk, poor management, trashy, trashy, trashy! You've been warned!! Child abuse, domestic violence, drugs are all things that we witnessed while being there. And watch out for the maintenance man.. he hates kids and make the kids very aware of it! I wouldn't go back there if it was free! There are also a few situations there that are very sad (little kids walking around with no adults in tank tops and shorts in the snow and temps around 20 degrees, husband and wife screaming at each other, husband punching wife, kids being dragged by the arm and spanked in front of guests) this place was a nightmare. We left 8 days before we were supposed to and didn't even ask for a refund because all we wanted to do was run from there! read more

I stopped at this campground on an impromtu multi-state adventure in search of volcanoes during the month of September. While on the road, I called around to many campgrounds and this one was the most helpful and supportive. They we warm and welcoming, however I never go to see them in person due to my late check-in and early departure. I never got to personally thank the wonderful people who made our journey one to remember. The whole process of being able to register and pay after hours is brilliant! The facilities were clean, the campground was quiet (with the except of coyotes) and though it was dark it was very easy to navigate with their maps as well as with the properly lit property. read more

Years ago, Mr. Tom Bodett (spokesman for Motel 6) would conclude his radio commercials by remarking: "We'll leave a light on for you." If Tom had worked for KOA (at least this particular Kampground) he'd be drawling: "We'll leave a light on the Confederate flag for you." This KOA literally displays a Confederate flag- proudly lit in a big window along the driveway leading to the Kampground. When I brought it up they explained they didn't really mean anything racial by it... but that doesn't dilute the symbolism. I shouldn't have stayed there. Our first experience with a KOA, we were well treated. They made us feel welcome, showing us to our campsite. Tent sites were reasonably spaced apart, and we had a nice grassy place to pitch our tent. The general store was nicely stocked, the bathrooms and showers were clean. We would recommend staying here. Dirtiest bathrooms I've ever seen. Trailers that look like they were built in the 70's and been there since the 70's and they don't have the ammenities that they say they do. I thought I left one last year. Guess not I didn't see mine on here lol. Any who as what I would have stated last year as I still agree upon this year. Best place ever. Not even koa. It is the best Koa we have stayed at but overall it's the best campground we have stayed at ever. We bought. Rv stayed in the rv spots worked wonders plugged in and ac running. This year we are strictly only staying in cabins and I wish we didn't even buy the rv and only do cabins. We're complimenting selling the rv to only stay in the cabins every summer. Best staff ever. Best breakfast. Best ice cream social. Best glow light parade. Seriously if you haven't stayed here DO IT! We're booked here all summer. Say hello we're just as friendly as ever staff. Oh showers are newly remodeled and super hot even if you're one to take a hour shower like my kiddos who like to sit and let the hot water roll off you. Handi cap even! Clean. Great place. read more
