Walked in around 330pm on Sunday. We were greeted promptly by Greg. I asked where I could find reclining furniture. He walked me to that area. He told me about their current 60% off sale and gave me an actual example. The example he gave was very helpful. He asked if I had questions, and at that point, I did not. He told me I could browse in peace and if I had any questions he showed me where he would be sitting. Finally, a sales person who understands. I don't need someone in my face while I'm testing out furniture. Tested out a lot of furniture. Decided to buy a piece. I got home and wanted to read more about the manufacturer. The receipt showed a different model was ordered. By then, the store was already closed for the day. I called Monday morning at 10AM and spoke to Greg. I explained the situation, and he said that he would look into it and call me back. He called me back and said that he got everything fixed. Instead of waiting until mid July for delivery, I was offered delivery on Wednesday. I gladly excepted. I was not charged for the additional difference between the couches. They have very good customer service. Delivery just occurred. It was easy. I knew two days ago when the couch would be delivered. I checked the night before delivery for a finalized time. I could follow along live as they got closer. I got a phone call ten minutes before they showed up. They were right on time. The two guys were friendly, professional and got the job done quickly. They put everything together and verified it worked. No damage to the house (it is very cramped and not easy to move large things in and out). No damage to furniture. Overall, great experience from start to finish, even considering the initial ordering error. Would buy from again. read more

This store gave me every answer in the book as to why my couch was not on time. I kept getting passed around and told different things by different people. I get that a custom couch takes time but then be honest with customers and tell them that. I was told 6-8 weeks and I got it in 12 weeks. They said it was because of weather delay, material shortages and even the Classic truck "breaking down" story. They take your money and then treat you like a child. I wish I could do minus stars! Started my shopping on a Saturday July 21, about 1 pm. I was interested in double back on Serta sale. The salesman was busy with about 5 other groups at the time. I was looking at a icomfort mattress, he told me it was $3200 and an 8 year warranty. I started looking for a bed and dresser alone as he didn't have time to help me so he plopped me down in front of computer to shop online. After a few hours in the store I was told that they closed at 5 that day but I could come back on Sunday. I returned Sunday trying to avoid the salesman from hell but he pounced on me as soon as I walked in. We made our way back to the mattresses while he went and helped others popping in every once in a while. Looking the same mattress as the prior day, only this time it is $3400 and a 20 year warranty. I had come prepared this time and did my online shopping before getting to the store. However every dresser I picked out was not available and salesman extraordinary is no help finding one. I finally find one in the store and hopefully wrap everything up 3 hours later. I specifically ask about removal of current mattress and box spring and he assures me that is part of delivery. The day of delivery comes everything seems to be going smoothly until the dresser is brought in. Mr awesome sales man ordered the wrong color so back that goes. The guys take away my mattress and box spring only to have my apartment maintenance calling me a few hours later asking why I left my mattress, box spring and an additional king size mattress in our garage enclosure. Yep they left mine and another one off their truck. After 2 days of no resolution with Colders I had to pay a special pickup to get rid of all of it. Now back to the dresser. I'm promised there is going to be a rush out on the order, however it is on backorder with the manufacturer. I checked in on pretty regularly. Colders received it on September 14th but no one could be bothered to call me to schedule delivery. I finally called on 19th and had to wait till the 25th for delivery. It finally comes, right dresser but drawers don't close corrctly. Once again let's wait for Colders to come fix it. In the mean time the new mattress seems to be sagging in the middle. The service guy comes on October 3rd and fixes the dresser. And takes photos of the mattress for warranty replacement. Low and behold what do you know, the bed doesn't have enough support for the mattress. Almost 3 months and $4000 later I am sleeping on my couch waiting. They want to add support under the bed but not replace the mattress. They want to wait and see if the bed fix fixes the mattress. I have never had such a horrible shopping experience!!! And their idea of compensation is a store credit for more of who knows what from Colders. Oh'boy! read more

Well I ordered a bed room set and dining room set on 8/27/16 and have yet to receive it 10 weeks later. I was originally told it would be mid September, then October, then November, and today it is now sometime in December. If I would have known it would have taken this long, I would have gone somewhere else. We just bought a new home in August and now we don't have a dining room table or a master bedroom set. No communication about the delay, I have had to contact the store to follow up each month, only to be told it would be delivered the following month. If you considering shopping here, either buy what they actually have in stock or purchase way in advance. read more

Came here looking for a bed set. I decided on one and was informed they had a new set in the warehouse. Purchased it and went to go pick it up. After a lot of waiting, they pulled out a headboard that was out of the box and had scratches on it. They offered picking up a headboard from their Grafton location, but I was unable to do this due to the time constraint/transportation situation I was in. Besides, that's taking even more time and money out of my day for something they misinformed me about. They refused to reduce the price. When assembling the frame at home, one of the threads for the screws was defective. There was a solid piece of metal in the middle sticking out so I couldn't screw in the last screw. I bought a stove and parts were missing, several areas was bent. They offered me a credit of $. We bought a full bedroom set, mattress and coffee tables from Fred. Fred did a nice job with a low-pressure sales approach and we felt like he knew his stuff. The problems came later, when we tried to get the thousands of dollars worth of furniture. When we placed the order in February, we were told that everything was in stock except the headboard, which was expected mid-March. Mid-March came and went, with no furniture. Our order was delivered at the end of March minus the bed. Our coffee table had a 8x11 "floor model" tag on it. Since we paid for a NEW table, we asked why we got a floor model. Colders said we were mistaken and this was not a floor model. Right. Fast forward April and we still don't have a bed, nor do we have a delivery date. Overall, Colders has returned about 1/4 of our phone calls and they have yet to call with answers, apologies or a plan. We try to be reasonable people, but we paid in full about a month and a half ago and we still do not have the most significant part of our order. They told us they would credit us half of the delivery charge (AKA less than 2% of the total sale. How very generous of them.) This credit has yet to happen. It is a shame to have a strong sales team supported by such an inept "customer service" and order fulfillment division. The sales are great, but this is getting ridiculous. read more

I bought a fridge and on delivery the delivery team left all the plastic coating all over the fridge the inside of fridge and underneath. Upon inspection the crisper drawer was cracked and there was a sharp edge noted nearby to the handle of the refrigerator. Fridgedaire representative replied I would need to pay a service team to fix the newly delivered item or sand it down myself!!! Although the salesman was friendly, customer serivice is terrible and I recommend any alternative to Colder's. If your looking for a bargain, you will spend more money in the long run. read more

Came here a few months back and had an awesome experience. We came here first after my parents recommended Colders, and they had an amazing deal for a mattress and box spring. We originally were just looking around, and not going to buy anything for a few more weeks. We shopped around a few other different stores but the prices were too high and didn't like being followed around by sales people. I don't remember the name of the man that helped us on our first time to the store, but we went again before the deal ended, found him and he helped us with everything we needed. No one followed us around while we were laying on the beds testing them out, which was really nice. They came up to us when we looked confused or had questions. Overall my experience here was wonderful and will and have recommended Colders to friends and coworkers. read more

I recently purchased a top end refrigerator/freezer that was supposed to be 50% OFF. After purchasing I could discovered on the Kitchenaid sight that my discount was closer to 30% not 50%. I have had this unit for a month and the ice maker has never worked. After 20 phone calls - and 2 service visits it still does not work. Salesperson never told me about their no return policy. On the same day of the purchase and well before delivery of the items, my husband and I decided to cancel the order. I spoke with a different salesperson on the phone who was very condescending and refused to believe that her coworker would have failed to notify me of the no return policy. I ultimately spoke with a manager who agreed to let me cancel the order. The condescending reaction from the salesperson who I spoke with over the phone and the original sales person's failure to disclose the no return policy is unacceptable in my opinion. I will NEVER shop at Colders again. Update: Today I received an in store credit certificate for my purchase and no credit card refund. Dan, the manager at the West Allis location, promised that the charge on my credit card would be reversed. This is unbelievable and incredibly dishonest. I won't shop at Colder's again. Everytime I'd go in there to look for something. The sales people would try to sell me something more than I can afford. One time it was a mattress for a single bed our son slept on. I just wanted a cheap mattress. As after our son moved out. The bed was only going to be used as a guest bed. The woman sales lady says Oh I should treat myself to something nice. I deserve it. I said No. I'll just take this cheaper mattress. She seemed upset. Probably works on commissions. My first experience in colders should have told me what kind of service I was going to get. Was told we would get our sectional in 6-8 weeks. We have called 5-6 times to ask when our sectional would arrive. We were told that it would be on the next truck (most likely) and be here a week and a half later. You would think that a customer that has already waited over the 8 week mark, has called MULTIPLE TIMES to check on the status of their couch, and is not happy you would make it a PRIORITY to get the sectional on the first truck sent out. NOPE. Not colders. I will never ever buy from them again and have never experienced worse service in my life. When they say 6-8 weeks just guarantee you won't see your furniture for 12-14 weeks. My husband and I purchased a bedroom set (mattress, box spring, and bed frame) from Colder's last month. While shopping in-store, the salesman assured us that installation and removal of our old set would be included. A week later when they dropped off the set and installed it, the gentleman that did the installation said that he did not have a work order to remove our set. Wanting to avoid the hassle of calling customer service, we ended up taking care of removal ourselves. The first few nights went alright, though we did notice the frame creaked every time we got in/out of bed. About a week in, we heard a cracking noise. I inspected the bed, but couldn't find anything wrong with it. Fast forward a few weeks to yesterday. My husband and I climbed into bed and the entire thing snapped. We immediately jumped out of bed to check the damage and sure enough, both the frame and box spring had broken. The frame only had 3 small (2" wide) support slats supporting the box spring. They were not properly installed and the screws had ripped through the frame (which I can now see is particle board, not solid wood). Because of this tension, the main support beam in the box spring also snapped. Today, I had the pleasure of calling customer support. This was a frustrating experience to say the least. I went through the menu MULTIPLE times only to have the call randomly disconnect before ever reaching an operator. Finally, I did speak with a helpful gentleman who took down the information and said he'd contact the repair company, which was then supposed to contact me to schedule a repair time. They returned my call that afternoon with the news that my bed cannot be repaired for ONE MONTH. Where are my husband and I supposed to sleep while we wait an ENTIRE MONTH to have our bed repaired?? We haven't even had the bed for a month and it's already unusable. To add insult to injury, I received an email from Colder's reminding me that "if it is determined that the service provided on your product is not covered under the Terms & Conditions of your service plan, you will be responsible to pay the service provider for the service call." When I called to ask customer service if I'd incur a charge, they were unable to provide me with that information. The service provider called from a restricted number, so I am unable to contact them for more information. Both items broke due to BAD INSTALLATION and POOR PRODUCT QUALITY - my husband and I SHOULD NOT be held responsible for something we didn't damage. We shelled out a pretty penny for the set, expecting it to be of good quality. Sadly, it's no better than the particle-board crafted frames we could have purchased at Walmart for 1/3 of the price. Save yourself the time and money, buy your furniture elsewhere. **UPDATE** The day after posting my original review, I was contacted by a member of the Colder's team. They were able to send a wood technician out the next day to repair the frame and they promptly put in the order for a new box spring. They were able to have the box spring delivered just two days later! In total, it only took 4 days to have everything taken care of, as opposed to the month long wait time we were originally given. I am very pleased with how easy the repair/replacement process ending up being and would consider using Colder's again in the future. read more

My wife and I ordered a sectional that turned out to be a real disappointment. Numerous issues with it. Andrea worked with the manufacturer and after some time we got a new unit. She was wonderful, patient and hard working on our behalf. The new sectional came in and again there were issues. Minor but issues none the less. Andrea once again stepped in and took care of us. She sent Dennis out and he was able to resolve ALL the issues. I may not buy that brand again but I will make Cloder's my first stop the next time I need furniture. read more

My boyfriend and I went to Colder's looking for a nice but good deal couch. We were helped by a wonderful salesman who took us around and showed us the options. He tried to sell us a couple things that weren't necessary, but hey that's his job a SALESMAN. But I stood my ground and came to buy what I needed. We walked away that day with a receipt for a brand new sectional! The only thing that I didn't like was the price, it was over my budget and pretty pricey. It was delivered today and the delivery crew was great! They handled themselves professionally and they took pride in their job. Worst experience I have ever had purchasing anything. I have never written a negative review before, because it is not my personality, but I have given them every chance to make things right and I gave them one last opportunity before I decided to write this. It is a very long story, but I will try and shorten it. Basically, I am brand new to Milwaukee and this is the first experience I had purchasing anything here. I went to Colder's to purchase a full bedroom set, did not see anything on the floor, so the salesman helped me order a set. Told me it was going to take 4-6 weeks to be delivered. I was ok with that, so I agreed. After 6 weeks of living out of suitcases and boxes, it was delivered to my apartment and was not the correct thing at all (female set with bedazzled handles and specific thin drawers for jewelry), so I asked them to take it back with them and contacted the store. The manager told me over the phone that I could come back in to pick something else out so I avoided a 30% re-stocking fee on the over $1,500 I spent and I would have to pay the over $150+ delivery fee again for the new items. I was still open to the options and went back into the store. The delivery guys accidentally forgot some parts, so I gladly took those back to Colder's as well. I went through the store, there were only 2 choices that I could pick from that would not require me spending more money and then I still had to pay the delivery fee, so it was more cost to me either way. After I finally had given up, I simply just wanted my money back and said I wanted to be done with this entire experience. They tried to negotiate with me and said they would not charge me the delivery fee and still held the 30% re-stocking fee over my head if I did not choose something, but I told them I did not want one of the two choices they had and I was not waiting another 4-6 weeks to order something again. After two trips out to the store, multiple phone calls, never speaking to a manager in person because they were not available ("lunch at 4:30 pm"), finally the original salesman (who was not the problem at all, he did a good job) finally got them to return my purchase and they said they would not charge me the 30% re-stocking fee. I checked and they refunded everything but the delivery charge, so I asked for that and they said they could not, so I was out the $150+. After spending over $1,500 at Colder's, getting about $1,300 back and absolutely nothing to show for it other than wasted time and money, I can only hope that my story can save other consumers thousands and cost Colder's much more than that. Went to Ashley Furniture and got a better set for a cheaper price. read more

I purchased an England custom order sectional and two chairs from Colder's in Grafton in the summer of 2016. It was expensive and non-returnable. I was not happy with the way the cushions looked from day one. Initially, Colder's sent a technician to my house who ordered me a replacement cushion and did some work on it to make me happier. Within about a year and a half of owning the furniture, the fabric was pilling and looked loose and wrinkly on the couch. I was very persistent with calling and letting them know I was unhappy with this furniture. I finally spoke with a store manager in Grafton, who made a call to Andrea in Customer service. Over a year after buying the furniture, a technician was sent to my house for no charge to make some repairs. He tightened a lot of the fabric and added more foam to the cushions. Then, Andrea was able to get me replacement cushions for the entire couch and chairs. Overall, I will NEVER buy England furniture again, but I do feel that Colder's went above and beyond in an attempt to try to make me a happy customer. read more

We went to Colders during their Labor Day sale, 30% off and an additional 30% off (which actually amounted to only 50% off, but it seemed like a good deal anyways) We special ordered a sofa and two recliners with the salesman Chet, got our receipt and was told we could pick it up in 3 weeks, and they would call when it arrived. 3 weeks went by and no call, so I called the store. The furniture was in! We picked it up, struggled to get it into our house, unwrapped it, and found they ordered the wrong items. We received a sofa and two chairs (not recliners). I called the store immediately and was told to come in on Tuesday after 10am to work things out with Chet. I came in the store at that time and was told Chet wasn't in. Then I got pissed. I explained what had happened to another employee and they said they would get a manager to help me. It took them 15 minutes to find a manager. The salesman checked in with me during the wait and explained that he called her office and paged and she was missing. ANNOYING. Anyways, the manager tries to help and says that the receipt reflects the items that were purchased. I explained that the receipt says "Sofa and two chairs" She said that if I had ordered recliners the receipt would say "sofa and two recliners" How am I supposed to know that? a chair is a chair. PFT. I explained I wasn't happy but I can keep the items that were ordered in error, and would like an ottoman for free. NOPE. she could offer a discounted price (on a $700 ottoman) wtf? Why would I wait another three weeks and give you MORE money, when it was your mistake? Never shopping there again. Terrible customer service. read more

On September 26th I purchased a flex steel power recliner model 1351-50p from Colders in West Allis. It had an "original" price on it of somewhere north of $2,650. The piece was supposedly marked down to a "floor model" price of $1,930, even though I was promised a "new" chair. When I alerted my sales person that he may have made a sale, he immediately escorted me back to his desk and began asking for my information. I told him that I was NOT buying today because I wanted to do my homework on the internet. At this point he offered to do it with me right there. We googled the model number and came up with an Ohio furniture store offering the same chair new for $1,199. That is roughly $730 LESS than Colders supposed rock bottom price. Then the games began... just like a used car lot. Out comes the "manager" and takes the sales guy in the back room. He comes back out and offers the chair at $1299. I asked "Why should I pay you an extra $100 for something I can get elsewhere?" Then he launches into this speech about the benefits of dealing with Colders, a local company... blah.. blah... blah..... I finally gave in and paid the extra money under the assumption that if I had a problem the mighty Colders would come to my rescue. Low and behold I took delivery of the chair only to find that within a week it creeks like an old rocker. I call Colders and get Dennis on the phone. He explains that he has this specially trained tech who can come out and review the situation... Unfortunately he won't be available for basically two weeks (supposedly he is coming on October 16th). I am further warned that Ivan the tech will probably just diagnose the problem and send a recommendation to the manufacturer regarding the "fix". (i.e. I am looking at months before any resolution is likely to occur.) After thinking about it, I sent Colders an email indicating that I would be returning the defective chair immediately and picking up a new one. They did not respond. I then called a second time only to get a complete run around by Dennis and June in the "customer care" department. Ultimately I was told that there was not another "new" chair in stock throughout their entire chain. Furthermore, they did not expect a shipment of new ones until at least mid November. The message was that I got taken by the salesperson and left hanging by the service department. After literally an hour on the phone I got absolutely NOWHERE. To date I am waiting for "Ivan" to come next week. Then who knows how long I will have to wait for the manufacturer to decide if it will stand behind its product. The lesson here is unless you are a glutten for punishment keep right on driving if you are tempted to shop at Colders. Their version of "stepping up to quality furniture" is in reality like "stepping in a pile of cow manure". read more

I have had the absolute worst experience with Colder's. I purchased a mattress from them in April of this year and have had to place warranty claims on that mattress 3 times due to a large hump forming. The first two claims were approved by the manufacturer no questions asked. This third claim the claim was denied because according to the manufacturer Restonic "the problem is not as severe as the prior two claims" (thus implying that we do have a problem) and that we have to wait 90 days to resubmit our claim. They keep trying to upsell us to buy a better mattress when I've firmly stated that we will not be paying more money for a mattress we already bought. Furthermore, our salesperson Maxine told us that on the third claim that we'd be able to return the mattress for a refund. When I spoke to the customer solutions manager Sarah, she told us that that is not their policy and we would never be able to receive a refund no matter how many times the mattress went defective. Do not shop here, they do not live up to the quality that they advertise!!!! We spent over $1,600 during the worst time of the pandemic and financial crisis, but that clearly doesn't matter to them as they have not offerred anything to make it right except trying to get us to pay more money for a "better" mattress. read more

Colder's, The sales person was great, but the management, resolution team and delivery team were terrible. The reason is after I received my bed they did not want to take my futon. I had a junk service come the day before and take my couch and if I had known that they would not take the futon I would have had that removed as well. They said they take mattresses, futons which is basically the same thing. They would not take my futon because It has a water stain. The futon is 15 years old. There was nothing in the literature and I was not informed that they will not take mattresses that have stains on them. I called management about this and their resolution team and sales team. They did not want to come to a resolution with me. As a customer you should be informed that the mattress has to be free of any stains. Thus, I had to remove it myself and I'm without a vehicle that can handle that. read more

I walked into Colders in West Allis and was approached by a saleslady (won't mention her name) and I told her what I was looking for. What she didn't know is that I'm also a self employed interior decorator and was also looking for an entire house or furniture. For ourselves we had a special request. When she heard what is was she started looking around for other customers. That's called CHERRY PICKING and what a fool she was. Then another man approached my husband and myself with the exact same reaction. Another CHERRY PICKER. Frankly it was a bit insulting because every single person walking through the door is important. I say that because we had first gone to Built rite Furniture and the saleslady stayed with us and walked around looking for our request. We didn't purchase but because of the wonderful service we went back to the store and I furnished the entire home for my client. The house I was furnishing was 4500 square feet so you can only imagine what that cost. This isn't the first time but will be the last time I ever set foot in that store The customer service is terrible. G-d forbid you have an issue you can forget it. My client bought something there and wanted to return the item. She called her saleslady over and over again with no reply. They had to go to the store and complain. BUYER BEWARE...there are many fabulous furniture stores please go there.. If ou have a problem at Colders you are on your own. Client after client has said the same thing. Well. Like all the other 1 star reviews for this place, it's the customer service that did me in. It was a great experience until something went wrong. They basically sold me a box spring that I didn't need. The delivery guy got here and was completely puzzled as to why I had a box spring. He advised me he'd be taking it back with him and to contact customer service to resolve the issue. I called and spoke with a manager who said his name was John. And thanks to "John" and his crappy attitude and unwillingness to truly resolve anything whatsoever....I've lost all respect for this place. The call ended with him basically telling me I could come pick up the box spring that I never wanted nor had any need for -OR- just be out of $150 or $75 because of the special deal I was given. This was even after I told him I had no truck or any other way to pick up a box spring that I had no use for. So basically I paid for a box spring that Colder's gets to sell again and make double profit. I couldn't believe this was possible, but that's how they operate I guess. It's crooked. They pretty much stole from me. Next time I'll just go to Biltrite like everyone else is recommending. colders is terrible...outsource service which takes weeks to get repairs, get a 6 hour window that they show up late for (after you take a half day off work) and then my dryer broke again: i take half day off, the tech calls me right before he running late to let me know he doesnt have the parts and will have to reschedule. i call colders who told me there is nothing they can/will do and inform me that there are "many angry and dissatisfied" people ahead of me. i will never set foot in a colders store again, the worst of all appliance stores by a mile. read more

Judy on the phone and Jim W. in the warehouse could not have been more generous with their time and effort in helping to save a 1950's Maytag stove from oblivion. Colder's had removed it from a client's kitchen and both helped to track it down and save it for me to pick up. Talk about heart. Thanks folks! read more

VERY UNSATISFACTORY & UNACCEPTABLE SERVICE! If I could send with no stars, I would! My husband purchased 2 recliners @$1300 each($2600 before tax) two weeks ago. Although he looked them over, there were 2 different employees who repackaged them, 1 was careful, the other was fumbling around. Immediately after opening box, he noticed a tear in the arm. He called & emailed pics. He was told by Tony that they could send someone to repair it. 1 week later we hadn't heard anything, so he called again. They would ask questions then call back saying they need more info. Now we are being told that since he looked it over, Colders is not responsible. How is 1 purchaser supposed to watch 2 different employees package up the purchases at the same time?! We had planned to purchase the matching couch later this year, but due to this service we will NOT be returning! We expect better service when spending almost $2800 on 2 recliners! I went in looking for a dresser for my daughter's room and left with a sectional, bedroom set and coffee table because I got lured in to the money back special. I thought I was leaving with a great deal, but later realized that everything is overpriced and the quality of their furniture is crap. The sectional we got started to sink in where we sat in it the most in less than a year! Coffee table and bedroom set scratches easily and paint wears down easily. Definitely not going back there as their quality stinks. Could get much cheaper and better quality stuff elsewhere! read more

I went in to utilize the promotion for buying a new bed and getting in-store money to use. The deal seemed get and got a decent amount of furniture, but the whole experience has been terrible. I spent $4000 and on the day they delivered stuff, I received the wrong design of a my couch. They then said it would take another 4-6 weeks to get the right piece after taking 8 weeks originally to get the furniture in the first place. However, instead of being 4-6 weeks, it turned out to be 5 months and it took me calling numerous times to figure it out. No one there took responsibility for this complete botch of service. I am so disappointed that I spent so much money with a company that performs this way. Hopefully if you buy from them things are right from the beginning because the furniture was nice but the service was terrible. read more

Best customer service I have ever experienced. After several issues with my sectional (all of which were well taken care of), they said "enough is enough" and went to the manufacturer to get my money refunded! They came to pick up the old one and deliver the new one today. I couldn't be more pleased. I will recommend them to anyone I know!! read more
