It was started in the 1930s by Mexican sculptor Dionicio Rodríguez and is covered with tons of quartz crystals, religious sculptures and biblical scenes depicting the life of Jesus as well as grottos, bridges, and concrete landscapes. After crossing into the cave you'll find scenes depicting: - The Nativity - The Last Supper - The Resurrection - Various Old and New Testament stories And it's all illuminated by colored lights reflecting off the crystal-covered walls. It's one of those things you have to see to fully appreciate and it's absolutely worth a visit. Admission is free and it's easy to find once in the cemetery (there's plenty of signs pointing the way) and parking is easy. Definitely don't miss this if you're in Memphis. Pro Tip: it's located near the grave of soul music legend Isaac Hayes so if you're into music history you may want to package the two stops together.

I tasted the Piehole first and I know I said the Larceny 92 proof would be my last. Then I saw the second table of whiskey and gave in to the strawberry one since my soul was on fire from the Larceny still. What two whiskeys I had inbetween I can't remember. That Piehole was to die for though! Pecan Pie Whiskey?!?! I usually gag at the thought flavored whiskey but man that stuff was good. If you want to get a party started the quickest way would be the Larceny though haha. DONUTS. I came in knowing my favorite: Howard's all the way!!! But I found a new favorite: Jody's Donuts. The ladies from Jody's were so awesome (the only people I saw from the respective donut places) and I knew immediately that I had to ask about the one with bananas on it. They sold me on it and just when I regretted taking it, I took a bite and went into Elvis/doughnut/childhood memory nirvana. Gotta go by their shop now! Gibson's were actually on point that night even though I am usually the hated one in Gibson's debates.

Forest Gump say's it is a major blues tourism site. OK, for some history or background the legend goes according to folklore, Robert Johnson, a young bluesman, met a stranger at this spot who took his guitar, tuned it, and returned it, enabling him to play with supernatural skill. Man the devil is real cause it worked ! Now after you sold your soul to Beelzebub stop over to ABE'S BBQ for some " Q "and soul food.. It was worth the journey to see Crossroad and grab a bite... It's next to the old Jackson rail station which must have been a busy spot up until the 1950s. It's hard to imagine that the water from the well has been flowing continuously for over 100 years. It has a strong sulphur odor and I didn't taste it due to the "untreated" warning but I remember doing it as a kid and not liking the taste. Make sure to visit the railroad museum next door if it's open.

It has an amazing Bridge soaring over it with a cool pyramid that reminds me of the Luxor in Las Vegas but it's actually a basspro shop. It wasn't always. There's also some good food in Downtown Memphis - for example one of the best taco shops (Maciel's) that ever eaten at anywhere in the country, which is crazy because it actually looked like it was going to be a little bit Westernized but it was amazing. There's a huge and very good burger. Hattie B's hot chicken sandwich is amazing. It's a local chain, one here, lots in Gnash-your-teeth-ville. There's some excellent fried chicken and some good barbecue and a lot of other Delights to be had in these parts. Knock yourself out. No literally. Here's a hammer bro.
