Had I not had the initial experience, This would be a much shorter five-star rating. Based on her efforts, this company lived up to the hype that I'd heard before purchasing. Summary of my initial review: I purchased a gun that I believed to be defective, sent it back, they said it was fine but still had the same issue. There was a serious of minor inconveniences that compounded to create an overall negative experience. It was fairly pricey (at least to me), so I felt it could have gone better the first time around. I recently sent my DT 11 to get the stock replaced. They said I would have it back in six weeks. I counted on that just because I had a tournament coming up. It came back in six weeks with the correct LOP and it was done perfectly. I'm very happy with Coles. I will use them again with no worries. read more

Used to use a gunsmith in Southport CT who is now out of business. Called Cole for 2 Berettas which needed a bit of work under warrantee. Person on the phone was a bit rude but OK. Boyfriend took them over and said rude rude rude. I am shocked. Their operation in Texas is awesome. Rudeness aside we ended up taken the shotguns to someone who is not a "licensed Beretta warrantee shop" Turns out he worked at Gunsmithing Limited in Southport which used to be a Beretta shop Nice young man. Just got my delivery of Cole's first batch of chokes. I went to my club and directly to the pattern board. Shot with Modified choke at 30 yards using Federal Top Guns 1145fps #8shot. Sent my new Beretta A400 in a month ago for problems with the magazine follower. Had to call and message for 3 weeks for info on it only to find out the gun was a dud and had to be sent to Beretta USA for repair or warranty replacement . Almost another 2 weeks of calling and messaging and still no information on where it is or what's going on. Very disappointed in communication between the 2 companies. read more

I cannot express enough on how happy I am with my 686. Ordered a 686 with a Gracoil LOP installed and had the Schnabel removed. First the workmanship on the Schnabel was seamless absolutely no signs that the forend had work done to it. Second the staff was very accommodating. I wanted extended choke tubes instead of just charging me for them they swapped the choke tubes that came with and just charged me the difference. Lastly they quoted me 2 weeks for the gunsmithing and by the time the 2 weeks was up my 686 was already on its way to me via complimentary shipping. Had a couple of nagging issues with a Beretta 686 that I've put about 10k shells through. Barrel selector with a mind of its own, and an inertia block ghost. Local 'smith looked (twice) and basically told me it was me and not the gun. And here's the bill. Luckily I am relatively local to the Maine shop, and called them to discuss. Before I could complete the problem description Kelly was finishing my sentences. Got it up to them for repair and went with a full tune up, since it was going to be in pieces on the bench to fix the inertia block. Great service, good turn-around. Pleasure to work with people who respect the guns, their profession, and their customers. Can't speak highly enough about the experience. Based on a limited sample, the work (barrel selector) looks spot on. Haven't gotten out to the SC course yet to exercise the inertia block work, but what I'm seeing so far tells me to expect the same. If you have a Beretta that needs work, don't waste your time with anybody else. The turn-around time can seem painful, but the work is done right, once. Thanks, Cole's. My partner bid me to review these guys. We are moving out of state and she was freaking out about having her dad's gun and traveling with it on a plane. She found this place and found out that they would ship it to her dad in VA. So for $40, 2 day delivery, voila, the gun is now out of her possession and she is free to fly without worry. She said the people inside were so lovely. I can attest to that, too, because I had to go to the bathroom and they let me use their shop bathroom, which was very clean. I'm not a gun person, but I was not intimidated in this very clean and professional showroom. read more

Unfortunately, I have not been able to make it to the store in person, but I have had a few good conversations with the folks at Cole's. All are extremely knowledgeable and down to earth. If you want a more expensive clay buster, they will sell you one, but they will also be real with you about the fact that any of the entry level models of the two Bs will get it done and if you need to get a custom fit, then they can take a block of wood and make an extension of your arm. Sorry Lee but not impressed. I sent o/u shotgun several months back to be fixed (firing pins) 300plus dollars later having same problem. Had someone local fix the problem! Also sent back shotgun case damaged which I blame on UPS so I called UPS and they picked it up and sent it back to cole. I was told four different lies by cole gunsmithing employees as to the location of my case. 1 and1/2 years later have not seen it. Not impressed with gunsmithing and not impressed with customer satisfaction!! Do yourself a favor and send gunsmithing work to Griffin and Howe superb people superb work superb customer relations they will not lie to you!! read more
