(Unlike a previous reviewer, I do not expect extra perks and discounts, and I understand that product delivery is an expensive service for a company to offer. One must consider the cost of the delivery vehicle, the loader and driver's time, and the cost of gas. Indeed, I tip the driver if fine service is provided, and I encourage other customers to do the same.)

There's one nearby to where I live currently, but my favorite of all the locations is the Lewiston one. When it was initially located in Auburn, I used to go there all the time to get rabbit food. Having never had a bunny before, I assumed the best place to get him food would be PFU since they consider themselves my "home, farm, and garden center." And where do bunnies like to hang out? In gardens! And farms! And homes (though I don't think it's their preferred locale of the three options)! When I went the first time to get some rabbit chow they asked me how much I wanted. They offered to bag up twenty-five pounds for just around $8 or $9, and thinking that sounded extremely reasonable, I agreed. It took me months and months (and months and months) to finally run out. Seriously, it's the best pet food deal around (as is their bird seed prices)! I also find there plants to be extremely well maintained and healthy. When I first got into gardening, PFU is where I got all of my veggie starters. I also spent some serious time contemplating apple trees once and had some really excellent conversations with the extremely knowledgeable employees about arboriculture. If you have questions... ask. They'll steer you in the right direction, I promise! When places like this exist, there's absolutely no reason or need to ever patron big box chains. An employee (perhaps the same one that lied earlier) said they could not be rented even though they were both there, they had not been inspected and the computer system said not ready to rent. They refused to inspect and check in the lift. So I ended up driving away. So Home Depot lied and told a customer they were available to be picked up today , then when driving in they said they were not available because they had not been inspected. What a pathetic joke of staff. When calling the store to complain to the store manager that he has serious disrespectful staff (I don't appreciate being lied to the wasting my time for their lie) I was attempted to be redirected to the rentals depts. I have not experienced the same issues with customer service some other Yelper's have raised concerns about. All my interactions have been good and very polite. Their paint area though seems like its run by robots because they speak in a monotone voice and they are short with their questions and answers. I don't got offended by it so long as I get in and get out in a timely manner. Their paint section is usually the busiest amongst the other Lowes I have visited.
