The cath lab team gave me two stents and a temporary pacemaker that morning, and they gave me permanent pacemaker the next morning. Every single member of the cath lab team, my cardiologist, every single ICU nurse, and each 4W nurse I had were wonderful. They were all cheerful, empathetic, confident, reassuring, and sharp as a tack. I returned a couple weeks later for a final stent, and I received the same care again from the cath lab team, doctor, and day surgery/recovery nurses. I'll probably forget someone, but these cath lab folks were exemplary: Tim, Nate, Christopher, Lane, Chantelle, "Earl," and Lori. If I left anyone out, it's on me. They were ALL wonderful .

However, I recently received care at the hospital, and also by Dr. Wiley who is located at this address. Both were top notch. The staff were friendly at both places and compassionate. Full disclosure, I do work at the hospital, but when you have a medical emergency, you become the patient and no matter what you know, it is different and you are concerned about what is going on with you. I love this hospital and all it stands for. I know the staff and leaders care about this community and want to provide the very best. I definitely recommend them; so much so I'll be going back for another week or so. I trust them.

Friendly and efficient are just a few words to describe the folks working at this hospital. The doctors and the nurses have always taken the time to address all my questions and concerns, giving me great confidence in their abilities and knowledge. The staff is attentive and helpful. I leave there feeling good about the services we received. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering dedication and compassion. Shannon Medical Center should honor their commitment to care for their patients.  My provider did…read morenot fill a prescription before leaving so I was told that I had to come in to get that prescription refilled, but that I would not be charged.  I came in as requested and that doctor told me that it wasn't necessary for me to come in to have that prescription filled.  Shannon used this as an opportunity to file my insurance unnecessarily and bill me the balance.  When I called Shannon to dispute the charges, they said since I came in there was nothing they could do.  The doctor himself told me I didn't need to come in to get that RX refilled.  Shannon only has Shannon's interests at heart as I had to drive 2 hours and then be billed for something that my provider should have taken care of originally.   I am transferring my care immediately as I feel that since I started seeing them in July 2025 it has been nothing but a joke as this has just been one of the many problems I have had with them.

It took…read moreme a week to find a doctor that was taking new patients, it took 3 weeks to get an appointment with said doctor, I received 3 emails that they were changing my appointment but all 3 changes were the same date and time, that was confusing, then, 2 days before the appointment, they call to inform me that the day they scheduled my appointment, the doctor would Not be in on that day and needed to reschedule, while I was telling them about all this, which goes back to when my surgery was rescheduled 5 times and 2 months later, that they need to find a better system of making appointments, the very rude person I was speaking to just hung up on me, I didn't get to schedule another appointment, and actually I'm glad I didn't because I would send a dead mule to Shannon hospital, they are truly the worst hospital ever! This monopoly needs to be shut down and give San Angelo better options for medical care!

She walked into our room briefly while my very sick mother and I were talking and when she walked into the hall I could hear her telling her coworkers everything. On top of that, I overheard her talking bad about my mother behind our room door before she stepped in claiming she didn't want to get sick from "that nasty old lady". Once we were discharged I made sure to get her name and will be filing a formal complaint for Mrs.Ramos.

After getting to the ER we were admitted and taken back and I specifically insisted on fluids due to lack of output, inability to keep fluids down due to puking, and having diarrhea still they said no. We've done this before and my son already has a compromised immune system so I think it's pretty awful to deny a child fluids when a parent specifically states WE HAVE DONE THIS BEFORE AND THIS IS THE ONLY THING THAT HELPS HIM RECOVER. We are now on day 6 of Flu with same symptoms and he looks like a ghost. The experience was less than exceptional and quite frustrating! We're paying a gigantic amount to use the ER the least you can do is actually listen to a parent when they say "I know my child!"

I'm writing this review to share a serious concern regarding the care I received from PA Joshua…read moreduring my recent visit to the ER at Fisher County Hospital District. I arrived at approximately 5:30-6:00 a.m. on Monday, July 28, 2025, following a syncopal episode the night before (Sunday, July 27) that resulted in a fall. I woke up on the floor with pain in my left toes, right dorsal foot, both knees, lower back, and head. Out of fear that I would not be treated appropriately, I specifically requested EMS transport me to Abilene, TX--a facility where I believed I would receive more thorough care. I had prior concerns with Fisher County Hospital District and didn't feel safe going back. EMS refused my request, citing they were the only crew on shift that night and were required to take me to Fisher County. That staffing issue had nothing to do with me as a patient. I was essentially transported against my will, and in the moment, I signed their consents under pressure because I had no other viable option. While the nurses were kind, and I appreciated their care, that didn't erase the deep concern I had about the provider. My instinct was right. Despite reporting a syncopal episode with trauma, PA Joshua did not follow standard syncope protocols. A head CT--critical after a loss of consciousness and head impact--was not ordered until more than 90 minutes after all other imaging had been completed. He never ordered a CT of my neck, even after I clearly shared my history of severe osteoporosis and described the way I landed. He only scanned my lumbar spine. He came into the room, briefly pulled back my scarf to look for bruising, and left it at that. He did not perform a physical exam. He didn't remove my socks to inspect my feet or legs, despite reported pain. And while he did listen to my lungs, he never performed range of motion testing on any of the affected joints--knees, feet, or spine--to assess for deeper or more sinister findings. This was a trauma case with a fall after a syncopal event. That level of minimal assessment is simply unacceptable. I had to ask multiple times for an EKG, and was initially told by a nurse that "it wasn't a cardiac event." Joshua also didn't prioritize it until I directly brought it up again. For someone presenting after a loss of consciousness, an EKG is a basic part of the evaluation. Even on discharge, my blood pressure was still 98/55, and no one addressed it. Joshua didn't return to the room. Another provider discharged me without any clear summary or explanation. I left the ER with more questions than answers--and very little reassurance that I had been properly evaluated. This wasn't my first negative experience with PA Joshua. I went in already dreading the possibility that he would be on shift, and unfortunately, my concerns were completely justified. The CEO, Leanna, has previously responded to complaints not by improving training or accountability, but by putting up "no photography or video" signs in the ER. She even terminated me as a patient, claiming I was "too medically complex" for the facility. If that's the case, I should not be brought back against my will--especially not after I clearly asked for transport to Abilene. Patients should never have to direct their own emergency care out of fear of being overlooked. I had to advocate for myself every step of the way, while in pain, after a fall, and still unsure of why I lost consciousness. Fisher County Hospital District needs to reexamine its emergency protocols, staff competency, leadership priorities, and patient safety culture--because what happened to me should not happen to anyone.

Where the medical assistant took vital vitals and a health history. From there the attending doctor order an x-ray of his knee . As we waited for the result the doctor never ordered any type of pain relief despite my boyfriend saying his pain was an 9 out of 10. Also His nurse only come into his room at the every end to go over the discharge papers.

They got me admitted quickly. Brought me pain medication as soon as they realized the severity of my injury, They brought the X-ray machine to me. After seeing I had broken my shoulder blade they ordered a CT scan, They shared the results ( not good news for me), and sent me back to my hotel with pain medication to get me through the night and they called in another prescription to be picked up at the local pharmacy the next morning. I left with a written explanation of my injury and a disc with a copy of the CT scan for my orthopedic surgeon to review when I return to Dallas. We were there a little over 3 hours. I can not thank them enough. Obviously no one wants to end up in the emergency room, but if the need arises, I would not hesitate to go there for help.
