This place is a scam. I went to them more than a year ago in extreme pain with a legitimate medical condition, I provided them with my full medical file "all the scans the x-rays and the doctors' reports" related to my condition. I was told: "yeah, we can fix your problems". Then preying on my pain and despair I was tricked into an annual plan, then was tricked into paying for the full plan in advance to save with cost me almost $3000. Stating that at the end of the plan, after they bill both of my insurances (two excellent federal employees plans) I should get most of my money back (if I paid by the visit my copay would've been $20 - $25/visit). As soon as the treatment began, I started feeling that things weren't right (This is not my first experience with chiropractors). They run this place like a pill mill, the session only lasts 10 minutes (I've been to 4 different chiropractors over the past 20 years and the visit ranges between 30 minutes to an hour). They kept repeating the same thing which didn't address my issues or my needs. Three months into the plan and during the first assessment, I made it clear that I'm not benefiting from the treatment and I don't see any improvement and requested to discontinue treatment and demanded that they honor their promise and refund me. They kicked into high gear to convince that things will change to address my needs (which they never did). Sensing that it's a scam and like any scammer they'll make any excuse to nickel & diem me and find any excuse not to refund me or keep most of money, I opted to continue the so-called treatment so, they get their money from the insurance company and I get most of my money back. A month later I receive a nasty email from their belling person informing me that I haven't paid my bills for four visits and if I don't pay they'll send me to collectors. I wrote her back and explained to her that I pay in advance for my plan (something she avoided talking about in all her emails) and every check I get from my insurance I bring them. Short of a long story after few emails in which I was accused of losing the checks, I contacted my insurance company and the send copies of all of the checks and they were all cashed by their office. After sending them this email, she accused someone else in the office of mishandling the checks. All of this raised my suspicions, so I did a search on the famous insurance scams and guess which one made the top of the list? The notorious annual plan paid in advance, this basically a double dipping. So, if you ever go to Colemans chiropractor, and he tries to convince you to sign an annual contract and pay for the whole year in advance because that will save you 15%......DO NOT. it's cheaper to pay per the visit, if you get this plan, you'll end up paying twice as much and they will got their money twice. Once from you as a patient and another from the insurance company. Add insult to injury that I had to pause my treatment because my wife had terminal illness and I had to focus my attention on her. On December 23rd. 2022, Paula from the office called me and left a message saying that I have a credit with them of $1219. After my wife's passing I resumed treatment in March 2023 and brought them two more checks from my insurance company. Last week after concluding my plan, I found a check from them in my mailbox for $1150 with no explanation ($69 less that what I was quoted in December, not to mention the other two insurance checks I brought them for $120). Again this is a very known insurance SCAM and I'm in the process of reporting them to both my insurance companies so they can charge them back for all the money they've paid them. Wow! We are so happy to have found Dr Coleman's practice. My husband and I are regular patients. The entire team, Dr Coleman, Dr Hartman, Paola, are so caring and really go out of their way to accommodate your schedule. And the adjustments are just awesome. He even made time to adjust my brother. After that adjustment I was immediately able to drive without pain and I was back to running the next day. My husband and I were involved in saving a man's life who was pinned under his truck. I'm actually from out of town and was here to take a class in Monterey. I'm a foolish retired RN who needed to stand back, but no one was there at that instant of emergency and dire need. Crying out for help, we got enough people to lift the truck, and I pulled the gentleman out from under the wheel. Needless to say, I "did a number" on my entire body. I called Saturday to more than half a dozen local area Chiropractors, leaving my message describing the event, my injuries, and that I couldn't move my neck and was in terrible pain. Dr Coleman was the ONLY doctor to respond, seeing me on Sunday, which happened to be Father's Day! Sadly, I actually ended up dropping out of my class and am still walking with a cane. I am extremely grateful to be continuing care with the very professional, experienced and effective healer, Dr Coleman. I have additionally begun treatment with the in-office massage therapist, as well. Although in a great amount of pain, I literally fell asleep during my first session! I'm a professional motorcycle track instructor and test rider. As much as I strive try to remain safe out there on the racetrack and keep it upright on two wheels, stuff happens and it always hurts when you crash. Outside of maybe bull riding or professional contact sports I cannot think of a better way to wreak havoc on your body than wadding up a motorcycle regardless of how infrequently it may happen as just one accident can leave muscular and nerve problems that will affect you the rest of your life. Suffer a lot of crashes over a few decades and well basically you get a lot of experience working with chiropractors. My experiences with them have shown me that it is really difficult to find a good one. It took me years to find a decent one I could trust that could truly help me instead of just someone manipulating my joints with no rhyme or reason. Then I moved across the country and was tasked once again with finding a new Chiropractor. Remembering all the bad ones I had to go through I was dreading the idea of having to find another good one, but I am here to tell you that Dr. Coleman isn't just good he is great! Not only does Dr. Coleman use the best state of the art equipment, he offers free and valuable information on general health, diet, and well being. Where else can yuo get something for free these days? Like the reviewer Jordan mentioned, I took the pay in advance option to save money as I was not covered by insurance. As with any discount structure, if you don't use all of your treatments then of course you would revert to the regular billable rate.This is explained very clearly on the paperwork so there's no room for misunderstanding or misinterpretation. Ashley does a fantastic job of managing the front office and just like Dr. Coleman shows a genuine interest in the health of the patients. First off, let me begin by saying that the WHOLE reason I joined Yelp was to leave this one review. I LOVE Dr. Coleman. I have seen countless doctors and health professionals in my life and I have never met anyone who cares so deeply about helping his patients and improving the wellness in their lives. NEVER. Dr. Coleman is not just a chiropractor in the sense one would imagine; he's what I like to think of as a big picture kind of doctor. He doesn't focus in myopically on your one problem, he steps back and asks, "What is the cause of this problem?" He looks at pain as a symptom of a larger issue, not as the entire issue itself. He will never recommend pain meds or antidepressants to you the way so many doctors have done to me. I have a chronic condition that often leaves me exhausted and weakened, I take medication everyday and I always will. My body doesn't produce certain things it needs on it's own and I need to replace those things. However, I wanted to be proactive in changing the exhaustion and depression that tags along behind this condition. I'm only 36, I don't want to feel that way for the rest of my life!! So even though I didn't have any screaming back issues, I started seeing Doctor Coleman to improve my overall wellness and hoping to no longer feel like I was in my 60's. I was a little nervous my first visit, but Ashley at the front desk is so lovely and sunny, and all the patients in the waiting room quickly volunteered their glowing reviews of Doctor Coleman. The Doctor himself is probably the friendliest guy you'll ever meet. He is bursting with health, vitality, and excitement. I'm not kidding, he was totally stoked that I was there as a new patient! He took so much time with me my first visit. We went over everything, all my medical history; including what I hoped to get out of my sessions with him. By the time my next visit came around he had worked out an entire wellness plan for me, mapping out my adjustments per week as an ongoing and changeable schedule to start me on the right track. he even did a little research on my condition which is rather rare, just to better help my needs! Doctor Coleman doesn't pretend to know everything right off the bat...rather he treats it like a journey that the two of you will take. He worked out a payment plan that suited my financial needs over the next year, and it was an incredible deal, totally affordable for a large amount of visits. After the first two weeks of adjustments, I began bouncing out of bed in the morning. I realized that my 2:00 pm crash at work had totally vanished! Where do I even begin...skip this place- this guy does not deserve your money. He is the definition of a sketchy chiropractor. He will take some time after your initial appointment to "make a treatment plan" which is really just him finding out a way to scare you about your condition and then present you with an expensive, long-term treatment plan. These expensive payment plans require a huge down payment and then a high monthly payment. GUYS- NO chiropractor should try to lock you in for so long- He contradicts himself plenty- which is an obvious indicator that he just says whatever he wants in order to try to get you. Coleman himself would say that there is not way of knowing how quickly your body will respond to treatment- yet somehow he is sure that he needs hundreds or thousands of dollars from you. NO chiropractor should schedule you for more than just a few visits at a time because they have NO WAY OF KNOWING how the body will respond to their treatment. This guy has strange vibes and is rude anyway. He will go on and on about suggestions and lifestyle/ diet advice that you didn't ask for. I wouldn't let any sketchy person try to school me like that. This is a great office because they do more than just chiropractic care! They have great massage therapists, an awesome Yoga class, nutritional cleanse programs, stretching and educational workshops. If you have any questions about being healthy this is the place to ask them! And if you just want to come in for an adjustment here or there, he is great at that too! Alright I've been thinking about this for a while. 2 stars because he did actually help me. However his treatment plan was for over 50 visits at 50 a visit. Plus there were some other... monthly check up that cost even more. i paid out over $2000 to this guy. I was paying every time I went in. Finally he convinced me to pay a larger chunk up front so that I would get a discount. So I paid $500 of it up front to get a 20% discount. What he didn't tell me was that if I stopped the treatment early because... oh I was feeling better and didn't want to shell out $50 a visit that he would get rid of the discount and charge me full price. He kept saying he would work on a scale charging me less because he worked with his client. So after I stopped seeing him... after spending $1500 on services he sent me a bill for $500. I went in to speak to Dr. Coleman and in his office he told me that he couldn't just consider the payment done or offer me a discount because he had bills to pay and that typical stuff. I just decided to bite the bullet and get out of there. While I was paying at the receptionist desk he walked over to the other girl working in the office (about 5 feet from me) and said "looks like we broke our goal for the month. I have to take you all out to dinner." Thanks for shafting someone who lives paycheck to paycheck to take your staff out to dinner. I should have go somewhere else and I will in the future. read more
