Been looking for a chiro in the area, haven't been regularly since my prior Chiro moved out of the area to teach the next generation. I'm picky about who I let manipulate me - had great chiros and ones that didn't really get what I needed adjusted. Searched google, yelp, and Facebook. Aggregated the results and decided it couldn't get much worse pain wise, I might as well give this a shot. Then made an appt to go in and chat. Had great conversation with Dr. Smoot, I was in pretty bad shape. Most of the time I get adjusted is relatively painless and I feel significant relief almost instantly. As I was in pretty bad condition and significantly locked up, I suspected getting adjustments would be painful, and I was correct. But I also started feeling relief about ten minutes later. After the second adjustment I started getting feeling back where I've had numbness and pain for a while. This is good news. A week later, we've got a plan in place to correct the stuff I have going on and create a better future. I'm recommending him to everyone I know. Support staff couldn't be more helpful. Dr. Brian Smoot did an awesome job in finding my issues with my back. Mostly lower back pain and put me on a regiment of adjustments and therapy. He also recommended some dietary changes and recommend exercise like walking more often. After a year, I did find myself improved upon. I recommend that you review your insurance policy to see how much it will cover, like other therapies a portion may be covered and the rest is out of pocket. Chronic Migraines Gone! I was having debilitating chronic migraines, about 2-3 times a week. Some of my headaches would last days. I have had a lot of personal experience with chiropractors in my life, both as a patient since my teenage years, and as a certified massage therapist working for several different practices. Dr. Brian Smoot and his staff at Smoot Family Chiropractic go above and beyond the norm...providing very personal, productive care at a very reasonable price. I have also had firsthand experience with Dr. Smoot as a pediatric chiropractor. When our son Wyatt was 2 months old, we were up more late nights than I could count with his colic. He was fussy, screaming and in pain in the evenings, truly inconsolable. We tried everything from prescription medication to some homeopathic remedies, and for the next 4 months, it only mildly improved. I've had shoulder/lower neck pain for a good portion of my life. I thought I would give chiropractics a shot since not much else worked. Needless to say, this was one of the better choices I made. Before I began seeking therapy from Dr. Smoot, I was VERY skeptical of chiropractors. I refused and was in pain for years. Not only did I have chronic back pain, but I had a hypersensitive gag reflex. About a week before Christmas, I hurt my back really bad. Not exactly sure what I did, just severe back pain. I decided to give it a whorl and see Dr. Smoot. He had been referred to be by several friends. His office got me in to see him that afternoon. I told him "Pigs are flying cause I am here!!" He did an entire work up with xrays. I came back the next day to see what he thought. He showed me where I was out of alignment in my hips as well as my neck. He recommended his course of treatment and so I began. I AM A BELIEVER!! After my first visit, I began to see results. Over the course of treatment I saw great improvement in my gag reflex, like it was gone!! I had to see my dentist for my regular cleaning and we had a long discussion on why my gag reflex was improved. My dentist never thought my neck could have been the problem. In the past I could not brush my teeth without throwing up EVERY time. I had trouble washing my face in the shower without gagging and throwing up. I started to worry I was going to damage my teeth from the acid. Once I was seeing Dr. Smoot the gag reflex was no longer an issue. My dentist said he had a few other patients with similar gag reflex issues and he was going to send them to Dr. Smoot. Until Dr. Smoot educated me on his chiropractic care and philosophy I was unaware of how it affects your whole body and its ability to function properly. He took the time to educate me and get to know my body. It gave me great comfort that he didn't just start wrenching on my body without doing his homework. I must say, I was very surprised at how warm and welcoming this Doctors office was. The receptionist were so friendly and helpful. Dr.Smoot was courteous and helpful in his presentation and first consultation. He definitely knows what he is talking about and presents his case very well. I'm looking forward to having my back and neck issues worked out with him, and I highly suggest him to anyone who is in need of a good chiropractor. I am updating and keeping the 5 star review! I have been getting daily adjustments by Dr.Smoot, and I am more than happy with his care. Dr. Smoot really understands my level of pain, and he takes his time making sure that he is doing the right things to facilitate me. It's always a pleasure to walk into his office, and be greeted with a smile. It's not always the case that you can come into a practice, and the receptionist know your name. $220 for an exam and no treatment (even though their website says $80 for new patients). Made me come back the next day with promise of treatment for which there would be no charge. The proceeded to request $2300 for 44 visits over 13 weeks plus $65 for being treated that day. Perhaps even worse was that he made me sit through 2 videos and listen to his chiropractor dribble about the miracle of chiropractic work. Do NOT go here. SCAM ARTIST. Self-absorbed, self-serving business man that has no interest in providing honest or affordable treatment. Yes, the front desk is nice. They didn't try to go through my insurance though I'm insured. They didn't do anything for me actually other than take $220 and ask for more money. I would guess this place specializes in workers comp (which those people are not paying for). I have met one other chiropractor like Dr Smoot with a similar business model. If you think this is not a racket, then you're not looking very close. The front lobby furniture if filthy. The doctor did not clean his hands between treating patients and seeing me. I think all the testimonials by patients were probably paid for. So I'll be straight up with you people Dr. Smoot is the best chiropractor you can probably go too. I've gone to other chiropractors in the area and it was a waste of time and money. My back story I messed up my back two years ago playing basketball and I thought my lower back pain would go away but it never did. It got to the point were I had to crawl out of bed some days to go take pain killers. It was hell I would never wish the pain I went through on anybody. I've been going to Dr. Smoot now for 3 months and my condition has improved 100%. I went from a 28 year old who could barely walk to running my usual 4 miles a day and Im playing sports again. Last year I hurt my shoulder in an obstacle course race. For 6 months I couldn't lift my hand above my head. In January I started seeing Dr. Smoot for what was diagnosed as Frozen Shoulder Syndrome.
