This instance is located in the Broadway Sydney shopping mall, and provides all the necessary produce and food items. It's always fun to wander around and look at items that might not exist in the states, but also admit that there are international items that you would not find in a standard US grocery store, but here would exist because of the large Far East Asian population. Some examples were Buldak hot chicken flavor ramen, salmanco frozen desserts. Also found frozen pelmeni (Russian dumplings), Went to the pet supply area, and saw a variety of dog treats, including one probably found only in Australia: Kangaroo tail disks. This is definitely one of the better Coles around Sydney. Fruits and vegetables are definitely more fresh than some other Coles. This store is also being featured on Channel 7's My Kitchen Rules a few times. I usually shop at this Coles during late hours since it closes at midnight. The disadvantage of shopping late is that many staffs are replenishing shelves. Which means it could be a bit difficult to get around. And some items might be sold out. Shop assistants are generally very helpful. read more

This is definitely one of the better Coles in Sydney. It is huge and the fresh food/produce section is awesome. I guess Coles have aimed higher with this store and it kind of resembles one of those crazy American supermarkets like Wholefoods or Canada's Loblaws. There is a salad bar that everyone raves about, an actual bakery, butcher and fishmonger. The deli is the largest I've seen in a Coles and stocks all kinds of goodies. I guess part of this is that Coles Broadway does have some good high end competition in the form of Peter's Meats and Harris Farms in the same complex. The poorer citizen I suppose can shop just around the corner at Bi Lo. Like the produce section, the rest of the store is well stocked and with pretty good selection. The attraction of 3 hours free parking also draws shoppers from afar if their local Coles isn't up to scratch. The only gripe I have with this place is the lack of actual checkouts - there are plenty of self serve machines but if a supermarket is this large, there is a good chance people will be buying trolley fulls which is not the point of self serve machines. read more

This store is like the flagship of Coles for Sydney. The staff are very helpful and friendly The range is better than the World Square or Bondi Junction store. I love the new Kitchen area that serves up lots of fresh salads. Also the fresh fish counter beats travelling to the Sydney Fish markets. Unlike most Coles out there, this Coles is huge or maybe I haven't been to many Coles around Sydney yet. Located inside Broadway Shopping Centre just outside the Sydney CBD, it serves as one of the main supermarkets in the inner city area or so I believe. It's so much bigger than the one in World Square and Pyrmont which I also usually go to. I might take a guess and say Broadway Coles is about two times bigger than World Square Coles. The amount of things that are sold here is so mind boggling, I guess I take it for granted as I usually shop here and it has nearly everything you would need from a supermarket. Actually now that I think about it, everything I usually get can be bought from every other Coles. There are times when I need some ingredients for some cooking experiments which I just can't get from smaller Coles. My family and I usually go to this Coles to get the bulk of our supplies as we can drive here. Some of the reasons for me to go here is because there is parking, it's located in a shopping centre and it's got everything I need or might not need. This Coles is definitely a place to go to for families, students, workers or whoever needs food and household products. read more

This is one of the better Coles around the area. It's less crowded these days because of the competition on the lower end from Aldi and the top end from Harris Farm. I like the layout of the shop and I usually dash in for quick grocery shopping - the lines at Aldi is simply not worth the time unless if you buy in bulk. What more can you say about a supermarket? It's well stocked. Well designed. And the floors are so squeaky clean that you can probably do a rollerblade tournament inside. read more

Service at this Coles is 90% "Let me interrupt you and tell you what I can't do for you", and 10% "Can do". If you want decent customer service, go to Woolworths at Central Park Shopping Centre. I've had some questionable service at some Coles over the years, but other than a handful of very helpful people, this place has the rudest service I have come across at any supermarket I've been to across Australia. read more

Staff service is great, hate to make anyone worried, but to give POC the heads up ..... when shopping whilst black...please note that you will be followed . It doesn't matter if your dressed in a suit, or minding your own business, YOU will be followed by security. I was there last night brought my products to the checkout like everyone else , thou I had nothing but a tote, was not disruptive or causing a scene, I was singled out. I would also like to note I am petite in size , average height and walked in , in proper conduct alone. I do not bear any gang tattoos or dress in such manner, nor raise my voice in public, and I was still singled out. To the point where the security guard stood infrony of me for minutes, even while I was tapping my card to pay. When I looked at him , he smirked with his arms folded. Due to the fact that his next step was to provoke me. No one else had this treatment , the other shoppers were able to do so without him checking on them. Now if I was to say something he could easily label me as being unruly and naturally call the police to arrest me , and naturally my story won't be heard, and the assumption of the general public would be ... she must have done something right ? This happened last night at 10pm at Coles in Broadway , I personally will not be returning. read more

Great selection, very convenient, and seems to be cheaper than the Pyrmont branch. This wins over the neighbouring Woolies with the convenient and free 2 hours of parking. Only thing is it gets SO crowded during peak hours. read more

This Coles is huge! and very close to my house. The aisles are very wide which facilitates two shopping carts passing each other. They are also well marked which helps since I often go here with a large list of various things to buy. My favorite aspect is the larger sizes. I don't need Costco quantities of items but I do appreciate being able to buy a 5kg bag of flour or a 8kg bag of rice when necessary. If only they had that option for beef jerky. read more

I used to shop here at least three times a week from when the store opened on 1999 until a year ago when I moved to Newtown. On the past two visits I was overcharged $4 and $1.65 respectively. A markdown item and a weekly special. It wasn't until I was home that I checked my bill and noticed the errors. I kept docket and would ask for a refund next visit. Okay that was last September. It wasn't until Mid December that I visited Broadway with a shop at Coles Randwick in between. I spoke to Vincent at the counter showing I'd bought two packets of custard tarts, both marked down from $4.60 to a mere 60c for a quick sale. I was amazed when Vincent refused to give me a refund because it was too long ago and he couldn't check it, verify it I believe meant. He told me I should have gone back within a week, after that it can't be checked. Is that company policy? Do customers have a week in which they must present at a store with proof of purchase otherwise after a week it can't be verified. Vincent said yes a week, I should have gone back within a week. So I'm expected to spend $2.60 or whatever on bus fares to get a $4 refund? And within a week. So what Vincent was saying was that he didn't believe me. Did he think I kept the docket for three months and make up a story to get $4? $1.60 rather after deducting bus fare. Obviously loyalty counts for nothing, and the "Friendly Team" at Coles Broadway with whom you think you have friendly relationship with as a regular customer really don't trust you at all because they don't believe you when you show them the system made an error because they can't check it.
