Absolutely disgusted with this branch…read more Me and my partner recently rented a property, our first family home as I am 12 weeks pregnant. It took 5 weeks to process due to them delaying our application and supposedly doing work inside the property; they withheld our application fee of £300. Upon moving into the property it was damp, unclean, with a broken boiler and electricity. The house did not have working smoke alarms; the back door was not securely fitted. The kitchen sink was not even connected to the water and was unsafe for use; on top of this a hazardous chemical was left inside the sink, when trying to clean; toxic chemicals leaked through the kitchen. The carpets where stains and soiled with animal waste; the radiators where not even fitted to the walls correctly. There where many more problems within the property however the list is too long to report them all. On reporting this too the branch we had a rude and unprofessional response from the branch manager; Peter, who was very unhelpful and aggressive on the phone. We then went several days with broken electrics, barely any heating and limited water supply. After voicing our concerns and disgust to the property and stating we would like to leave as the house was unsafe for a pregnant woman (or anyone) to live in; they then responded by telling us they would with hold a further £250 pound and we had two days to vacate the property. Absolute disgrace of a company; how they could let anyone let alone a pregnant woman live in this way is travesty of justice. Basic human rights ignored. Will be taking this matter further; this branch should be closed down!
