During my consultation he made me feel hopeless, helpless, overwhelmed and extremely anxious. I have had another consultation and was treated with respect and compassion. When I booked my consultation I was told no charge for the appointment, now I have a bill which I have asked to have amended. He's just about the money. My recommendation seek another periodontist who acts with care about the feelings and well being of their patients. UPDATE: The office apparently has nobody in charge with customer service, I have written them 2 letters about my billing. I was billed for a consultation, that when I booked my appointment and asked them if there was a consultation fee the woman who answered said there was no charge. I paid for my x-rays and received a bill for the consultation after i requested it be removed. When I called the office to speak to the person in charge of billing I was told there was nobody who handled billing ! Really ?? That bill I also paid In exasperation with this issue. I now have been sent yet another bill for $16.58 which is apparently compounded interest. This I refuse to pay. It's absolutely ridiculous. Stay away from this horrible Dr. and the inept office which is so poorly managed.

The work Dr. Melton has done is far and away the best of anyone I have ever interacted with - dentally. The tangible results speak for themselves. He knows what he's doing and focuses on that. He tells me what I need to hear in order to properly take care of my mouth. This, matters more than anything else. And yes, I do find him agreeable and easy to interact with. The office staff and medical assistants are extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. The billing staff ensured that I knew what the charges would be before the surgeries and I have never been billed any more than what was estimated. They also work with my insurance to ensure that they obtain the maximum insurance coverage. I have had several oral surgeries performed at this practice over a period of a few years and have been very pleased with the results. I will first note that they have changed their name now and are calling themselves "Grace Dental…read moreStudio." I assume that is to separate themselves from all the bad reviews. I was hopeful when I first started going there. However the constant lack of professionalism and concern for the well being of the patients guarantees I will not be going back. They do not do x-rays before performing procedures, so they don' t know how much decay there is to remove or what a tooth needs done. They do not bother to wait for teeth to be numb before they use the novacaine needle, they do not wait for novacaine to numb teeth before starting procedures, and they do not listen when patients say they are in pain because they are not numb. The dentist filled several of my teeth without removing the cavities and I had to get them fixed at another dentist. He also told me he was going to fill 8 teeth at one time and I said that was too much at once he said it would be easy. So instead of working on one tooth at a time he drilled all the teeth at once and then filled them at once, without removing all the cavities. I was not numb yet and and he acted like it was my fault for being in pain. I have medicaid and I have heard from others that they treat those who pay with medicaid especially bad there because they know they can. No one should be punished for being poor.
