Mrs.Rodriguez is an amazing director, and such a great leader to all the teachers and supporting staff. My eldest has been enrolled for his entire elementary years and thanks to the Montessori method and the oversight of the teachers he's matured into a responsible, kind, and outgoing individual, with a thirst for knowledge. I cannot express enough the gratitude that I have for all the teacher from preschool, to lower elementary, and upper elementary; the team that they have created is exceptional. The class sizes are adequate, with new classrooms added over the past year, also each teacher works along side a classroom assistant. More importantly, the parent to teacher communication is excellent I am always in the loop with what goes on in the classroom, all the ongoing events, as well as any incident that might occur. The school also has a variety of extra curricular activities from violin, chess, dance, and soccer during the school year as well as summer camp and swim classes throughout the summer. As a response to an above comment, I wish to include that the school is very supportive of any additional help the student might require, offering all the educational support available, and access to any therapies the student might need.

My kid was crying and when we went to pick him up the had him in a corner and was towering over him like he was an animal! Every morning he would cry and would say "she (the principal) was mean", but we discounted what he said. We feel so bad we didn't listen to our child as this place is not good. Don't be fool by the sweet words during the orientation and school visit. I mean maybe you won't have the same experience as we did, but is it worth the risk?? There are plenty of schools to take a chance on if you ask me. Needless to say we chose another school (CFA) and all of my kids are thriving and the one they said was a problem gets the role model award daily. Different school, teachers, environment, yet same kid so who's the problem. Even met other parents that left the school as well and also had a bad experience as well, so at least we know it's not just us.

I had my daughter in the VPK for 2 1/2 months. I do not recommend sending children to the YMCA…read morePreschool since I honestly do not believe they have the interest of the children at heart and are there to essentially make money. I will explain why. There was a wonderful VPK teacher which suddenly left with 2 weeks notice at the start of the school year. There was a woman in the class identified as a helper to her but not the VPK teacher. The parents received notice that a new VPK teacher would come, who either was in training, or never there. In the end the class helper assumed the control of the class. Immediately there was a difference when I would ask my daughter what she learned for the day, and she just mentioned that they played all day. When the previous VPK teacher was there she articulated many wonderful things she learned for the day such as colors, letters, days, etc. She used to get small weekly homework assignments from the previous VPK teacher and all of that came to an abrupt end. I brought it to the attention of the front desk staff who was rather disinterested and told me to ask the new helper. I went to her and inquired, and she sent me to another teacher in another class, who said "oh they have homework" I didnt know, and merely told me to do another letter for the weekly homework. I went to the front desk and asked if the "helper" was a VPK teacher and was barked at with a "she has a Bachelors in Early learning development" and she seemed very defensive. I walked in to drop off my daughter one day and she was yelling at a new child who was crying because his mother left him. She softened her tone when I fully entered but it was not nice to see. After I inquired about her VPK status, all the photos of the VPK teachers (she was never on the wall) were taken down. I am really disappointed in this school and program since I was sold a really qualified school with excellent state certified VPK teachers by the schools director, and when I finally requested a transfer she wanted to know why and offered to transfer my child to a new VPK class. There is a clear lack of communication with the front desk and the Director because she could have been made aware of this issue when I brought it up weeks ago. PROS: Close schools for Homestead families CONS: Inattentive VPK teacher, and front desk who do not listen to concerns The school is really providing inadequate education for families who are poor and also do not speak much English Costly for the level of care, education and supervision provided. Policies in the handbook are not adhered to Toys and play equipment are never cleaned and wiped down. Look for somewhere else to send your children, I do not recommend, there are many other issues, but from an educational standpoint this is not the place.

It's super close to home, my little one has only been here less than 1 month and so far I'm thrilled. It's a Christian school also so that perk is great. I love the fact of having her here. Her teacher is wonderful "Mrs. Chavez" she's super sweet and patient. As an older mom of 1, I'm a worry wort but Mrs Chavez always makes me feel great. I gotta say that the other teachers and after school staff are the best! Everyone is so nice and it's just a wonderful ambiance. I'm very happy so far.
