It stayed on the website the pool was closed. I believe that may have accounted for the low price compared to other hotels Close by. Breakfast was so-so. I had oatmeal which was more like cream of wheat. I also tried the egg/cheese omelette. My husband had the egg/cheese, sausage and potatoes. He said the sausage was good. I self checked us out. There was a desk staff on the phone as we left. We did not have any contact with any staff while there. We would stay here again.

Where do I begin....let's start at check in. The check in representative could not be nicer, I will…read moresay that, but the first thing I was told was that the Jacuzzi King room I had paid for had no mini-fridge or microwave over which took me back. I can honestly say it has been since the early nineties that I have stayed in a hotel room that did not have a mini fridge and that is including other countries I have stayed in as well. Okay so I would have to get ice for my drinks and I couldn't bring left overs back to the hotel. Sucks, but not a deal breaker....well no cold drinks because the ice machine was broken for the entire time I was there. Onto the jacuzzi which was my main reason for picking this particular hotel in Sudbury. It was nice, but would have been nicer if all the jets worked instead of just half of them. I looked in on the pool, but never actually tried it because it was tiny compared to what the fish eyed pictures showed plus it was always filled. The poor staff could not even keep up with the wet foot prints everywhere and more than once I saw that they had run out of towels in the pool area and to bring your own towel down from your room. Wi-Fi. If you are not a Hilton member, you get the slowest of the slow wi-fi or can pay $5 a day for what is a complimentary service at most hotels. Seriously? Carpeting old and from the 80's. The kind that gives you motion sickness. Even better though, on the 5th floor, it is coming up in bumps in places like a nice big liability risk. Finally I opted out of maid service, but they did leave me a nice card saying if I needed anything to please call house keeping. Which I did for an extra roll of toilet paper-had to leave housekeeping a voicemail for such at 2pm. At 5pm it still had not arrived and when I called down there again but got voicemail again. A credit to the front desk because I called them asking if they could deliver a roll and they were at my room in less than 5 minutes. The stay was seriously just okay, possibly less than okay. I will be back to Sudbury but unless I was desperate, I will not be back to this hotel.

We asked the front desk reception when we arrived if we would get a king size bed, they said "yes". We were put in the "Ramsey Wing", which apparently has no king size beds. My boyfriend asked out of curiosity how many guests are staying at the hotel due to the lockdown, we figured not many people were travelling. He was told that there were ten rooms rented at the time. The ONLY reason why we were travelling is because of final exams that needed to be written at Collège Boréal, I digress...We checked in on Sunday and the hotel is pretty lacklustre. We usually stay at another hotel in Sudbury but got a better deal here. Things were fine until Tuesday night when the front desk staff decided to give the room next to ours to other guests. Our room shared a door with theirs which means that we heard everything that was going on next door! I was livid. I could not believe that in an EMPTY hotel the front desk staff thought it was a good idea to place strangers next to each other with a shared door. Why?! These people were loud, playing music, to the point where I had to call the front desk to complain because I had an exam to write in the morning. I was more upset about the Holiday Inn putting people next to us with a SHARED door in and EMPTY hotel than I was about being disturbed by said people. Talk about customer service. Know your rooms, know your occupancy and place guests accordingly. It's not hard. Also, the ice machine on our floor was broken, which I mentioned to the front desk on Sunday...They said that they would send someone from maintenance to fix it and never did. The ice machine on the 6th floor is also broken. This place is the pits. Avoid. (The only redeeming quality is that it is close to the Four Corners and many different dining options)...

I'm in Sudbury for a funeral so this was my venue of choice close to all the arrangements…read more I was greeted by a cheerful Donna M. as I walked up to the Check-in desk. She confirmed all my information, scanned my credit card, got me to sign or initial a form in several places, gave me 2 room access cards and pointed me in the direction of my room. Very nice! Very efficient! It's a nice hotel with lots of amenities like free WiFi, a 24-hour fitness room, a swimming pool, and a restaurant/dining room. There are gas stations, restaurants and malls close to this hotel and less than 5km to the City Centre downtown core. My room had two double beds and a good setup. The A/C was worth the $133 room rate!

Bear's Den Lodge is located on Bear's Den Bay near Hartley Bay on the French River. Such a beautiful location and the accommodations were great! We stayed in the Lodge for the week and all of our meals were included. We were also provided with a boat, motor and fish finder. The Lodge provided us with a nice 14 ft Lund boat with a 25 hp motor and a fish finder with a depth finder which we found was essential. Lots of shoals to look out for here! Every morning the boat was cleaned and gassed up and ready to use! Good thing too because we had to rescue some people in another boat on the river that had run out of gas! Bear's Den even has it's own tackle shop on site, where you can buy various pike/musky lures and other fishing gear, worms and Bear's Den souvenir clothing like sweaters, hats and shirts. Every morning we were up for breakfast at 7:00 and then off fishing for the morning. We would return around noon for lunch and back out till supper at 6:30pm, and then fishing again till dark! All of the meals were absolutely delicious! The steak dinner was our favourite! Brenda even packed us a lunch the one day! So accommodating with everything! They will even accommodate special diets! There are lots of fish to be caught on the French! Large mouth and small mouth bass, walleye, pike and musky were on our target list. We never did end up finding the walleye, though we dedicated more time to the small mouth, pike and musky on this trip. Next time we will get them! I highly recommend staying at this lodge if you are heading to the French River. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and can't wait to go back again!

Extremely Disappointing and Frustrating Stay…read more I extended my stay by two nights after spending time enjoying the trails in the area, but I deeply regret that decision. Despite requesting housekeeping every single day, my room was never cleaned. By my final day, all I wanted was a hot shower, clean towels, and a clean bed after being out exploring, but even those basic expectations were completely ignored. The lack of service was unacceptable, and what made it worse was the rude and unhelpful attitude from the staff when I tried to address the situation. Guests should not have to repeatedly ask for basic cleanliness and then be treated poorly when those requests are not fulfilled. This was not my first time staying at this hotel. During my previous visit, the only positive experience was the friendly staff at check-in. Unfortunately, this stay showed a complete lack of care and professionalism. The surrounding area was also disappointing, with the hotel located directly across from a drug site, despite a police station being right beside the property. After this experience, I will not be returning. A hotel should provide a clean, safe, and respectful environment for its guests, and this stay failed on all three.
