One of the nicest, and probably my favorite course in Noble County…read more Greens are soft & fast. Fairways are forgiving & roll well. Challenging and fun at the same time! And even though the course was built not that long ago, the mature trees which they built around create the feeling of a much older set of links. Love hole #4, the par 3 over water. Perfectly placed to give you a few holes to warm up and then challenges you before you get too far along. Holes 5 & 7 are also fun. Water forces you to lay up, or in the case of 7 either lay up or challenge the creek on your second shot with a long iron or fairway wood. Hole #8 & #9 are tough. Hole #8 is deceiving. Long par 3 that looks shorter than it actually is. And #9 is tough. It's the hardest hole on the course. #12 is fun...another par 3 over water, but downhill this time. #15 is a great risk/reward hole...I love playing a cut driver, trying to shape it down the shoot. The greens have plenty of break, and are sooooooo much fun! Only reason I don't give it a 5-star is that they used to make their own sandwiches in the club house. They now have them delivered prepackaged and sitting in a fridge. I think that is a real bummer...their chicken salad was really good.

Really nice golf course that I've played at least once a year for many years…read more I've played when it's hot. I've played when it's not. I've played in the rain. I've played with half a brain. All true except for the last one...I was thinking about when I played here 2 years ago...it was my first time playing golf after an eye injury. I couldn't quite focus on the ball and it was frustrating! Anyways, course is setup really well with 4 tee boxes to choose from. Expect to be challenged from the tips. The more forward tees make an enjoyable experience for higher handicaps. Greens are fast, tee boxes well kept, and everything is usually in good shape. Very friendly staff. I wouldn't recommend walking because there are a few green to tee trips which are quite long. I hope the course sticks around for many more years...I have yet to break 80 here...but I will someday! Also - looks like they are building a few more houses on the course, just in case you are looking to live there.

I made a reservation for a 10 person golf outing among friends that has occurred annually for over…read more25 years. The initial reservation was made for 8 over two months prior to the event and an additional grouping was later added 3 weeks before the event. Less than 2 weeks prior to the event, I got a call from 'Jim' at South Shore saying that a mistake had been made and they now had a large outing and they were cancelling our small outing. I complained and Jim said he'd try and work something out but never bothered to call back. Bad business for sure! Fortunately, Stonehenge CG of Winona Lake saved the day for us.
