I hired Colonial to take down 10 trees, grind the stumps and remove the shavings from my half acre property. From the time I hired them until the time they 'actually' did the work was three months. They totally destroyed my property; a complete mudfest! Instead of removing the shavings, they spread them all over my property. It took us months to rake and clean it up. It has been six years since they did the job and my lawn has never been the same. We were missing roof shingles off our shed from fallen tree limbs they cut and never told us. We had a severe leak then a huge mold problem. They also damaged a blue spruce tree and just threw the broken limbs back into the tree; again without saying a word. I had Monster Tree Service out twice before and they did such a wonderful job; you would have never known that they were even there. I'm so sorry I didn't have them do this job as well. There was very little to no communication between myself and Jim Cliggett; horrible! Never answered my phone calls or emails. So totally disgusted with them and would never recommend them. read more

Outstanding work performed, we had two large maple trees along with our neighbors tree, all removed. Included stump grinding. The crew had all of the necessary equipment that they able to squeak into our small yard and driveway. We have a very large wooded area behind our home. Over the years a great number of fallen and dead trees have filled the area. I did not want to disturb the area and left it as a natural habitat for a collection of animals. However, a recent inspection of our home showed termite infestation. The inspector showed us most of the dead trees and old stumps were riddeled with termites, and they followed the root structure to the house. Colonial tree service responded to our call and gave us an extremely fair price to have all of the dead trees and brush removed from our property. I figured the job would take at least 3 days. They finished in 6 hours; they were extremely efficient and left the area immacculately clean...every last twig and branch cleaned up. I recommend this company in the strongest way. I am the neighbor of the property where those guys had made a job. They removed more than 10 trees in two days but demolished a lawn of my neighbor completely, destroyed his shed with the concrete base, damped trunks to my territory without my permission. We got 3 estimates on the removal of a mammoth tree that was banging on our house for two days. OMG! I thought I would have a heart attack and was terrified that the tree would cause structural damage. This was also 2 days before a monumental snow storm was on the way on January 22, 2016. One company needed to remove fences, time to schedule and other scary things for a home owner to digest with a tree from hell killing our house on top of the cost. The other service said that the tree was mammoth and required the highest level of skill and precision to remove the tree safely without damaging our house or putting workers at risk. We were referred to COLONIAL in SOUTHAMPTON, PA who assessed the situation several times before assuring us that they had the skill and the crane to remove the tree safely without fence removals and possible damage to our home. They also understood the urgency of the job with the tree causing more damage to our home with a major storm on the horizon. THEY DID A SPECTACULAR JOB! We are so pleased. The crew was friendly, they helped us "push" our car out of the way that wouldn't start, they cleaned up every single limb, twig and branch that fell on and around our property. and they charged us a far price for the job. Just be aware that tree removal of this nature is NOT CHEAP. What's important is that you do your homework and choose a company based on skill and service and not the cheapest price.
