Horrible experience! Their contractor (Granite Countertops & More) measured the counter tops wrong. All the backsplashes & the island were cut too short. After a long delay, they returned a second time doing only a partial install because again the counter top was the wrong size. All the caulk started to peel within 24 hours! Both company owners blamed me! - Like I would sabotage what I just paid a lot of money on! On the third visit the sink backsplash AND countertop were cut wrong AGAIN! I refused to accept on the principle that the product & workmanship should be what I ordered & not their sloppy mistakes. They refused to come out again & do it right, leaving me without countertops! They refunded my money, but left me to start over with a new company all the while without countertops. Highly UNPROFESSIONAL! read more

It took them four weeks to send a quote to me. THEN they would not tell me how they determined the cost price. I got a total number price quote but no detail. They would NOT tell me how many square feet they measured. What? I know from the loan docs and Zillow my SQ footage so why couldn't they also tell me what they measured. I could not trust this company. I found Keele & Sons and saved over $3500. They told me the square footage. They left me satisfied. I felt Color Tile was not honest with me. read more

They are very patient and kind, they are price conscious when considering your budget, but still getting you the look you want.had lots of options and even let me take several samples home to see how they looked with my lighting. We had been to seven well known (not discount) Carpet and Tile stores within approximately 80 miles of Salem Oregon to get estimates for what we needed/wanted to complete the much needed update to our home. Within five minutes of speaking with the manager Alicia we knew that we were at the right place to purchase the carpet and tile we wanted. At least we hoped that we were. Turns out that we were. After great reviews from a contractor friend of ours, we decided to use Color Tile & Carpet in Salem, OR for some new carpet for a house we were trying to sell. We will never use them again. They didn't finish the job in the time (or day) they quoted. Angela was nice, but the rest of them were horrible to work with, including the manager. Just the most awful customer service I have ever experienced. I can assure you I would have been better off going anywhere else in Salem, Albany, Corvallis, Eugene or Portland - no matter the price- than ever going there. Went in too pick out tile for a fireplace, found what we wanted Doug came to house to measure and miss measured. I guess my big issue was with the installer they supplied he was combative, and rude ,impatient I could go on ,and on. Normally I would have asked him to leave and not come back, but we we were under a time crunch , we wer having a gas insert installed the following week, and there was just no time to find someone else. I originally ordered 12 square feet of tile, and I got 12 sheets that are 9.75 x 9.75. My tile installer came up short, of course. When I called to get more tile, I was told that for $48 in freight I could get the tile by next Monday, and other than that there was no guarantee that the regular freight charge would get it to me by next Wednesday. The tile job is in progress, and it is my only bathroom. I am stuck. So, now I am out $48 because their salesperson could not calculate how many sheets of tile was required for my 12 square feet. I will not be going here again Update - I did get a call back offering to refund $28 of the $48. It's still more than I should pay, but it is better than a poke in the eye. read more

We didn't have Color Tile install so I can't comment on that. Angela Bell went out of her way to make sure we got just what we needed, no more - no less and asked us to consider other options that cost her time and money to make sure we were happy. She candidly pointed out that their price point would be the same as an alternative we were considering when many would find a way to shade things in their favor. Best retail experience we have had in a long time when many businesses have let their experienced staff go to cut costs. read more

We went to this store to pick out vinyl. We found a couple we liked and took home view. We made an appt in the store with Doug to come out in a few days and do measurements and pick up the samples. When we made the appt, we realized another day would be better, so we changed it right there in the store and got a card from Doug stating the new day and time. The day and time came and went, and no Doug. So I called him the next day and he said he wasn't due to come out until the original time we had set. Apparently he had not changed it in the appt book. So we set a new time for the next day for him to come out, but he didn't show up; he sent a colleague to do the measurements. She took it and the samples back to the store to work up a bid. Doug called a day later and said he had a bid and would work up a contract. We waited another full week, and no word that the contract was ready. So I called him again, only to be informed that the contract was there, ready to be signed. Apparently it had been ready for some time, but he never bothered to call and let us know. So my husband went in and signed it. The flooring was ordered and took a week to get here. Doug called again and informed us of this and we set a date for install--two weeks later! The installers, Julio and Benjamin, were just out the other day and did a fabulous job installing, even working overtime to get it done. It looks absolutely beautiful. Top marks and kudos to both of these men for their hard work. Wish I could say the same for the employees at the store. I would not recommend anyone use this facility if they want floor coverings. Ours was just one big hassle from beginning to end, and no one needs to go through that. Customer service is dead (except for the installers). read more

I have been using Color Tile for over 10 years. Their service is excellent and the installers they use do a great job consistantly. The bids are always low, and its easy to get on the schedule for install. We will continue to give Color Tile our business. read more

Recommended by my Realtor, who had not steered us wrong, so went in to look at new tiles for kitchen and bathroom. They have a very good selection and were very helpful in picking out tile. Specifically picked tiles that they had in stock as we wanted to have the floors done before the new appliances were to be delivered and before we moved in to the house, they did work with us the best they could with their subcontractors, but ended up installing the week after we had moved in, so had to move the appliances around to get the kitchen floor done. Never told us in the store that we were responsible for removing floor molding or anything like that, or that we were responsible for removing and returning the toilet to its correct spot. (Hmmm, that's why I thought I was paying for an installer). Luckily the installers agreed to do those things for a few extra bucks, but I was not pleased that I had been quoted for a FULL install and it wasn't really everything that was required. Next issue was that the tile we picked for the bathroom was a subway tile with a pattern of black tiles surrounded by white tiles in a specific pattern. After they were done we noticed two things, one several sections the tiles were too close together and so there was no grout line between the tiles, and second, they did not match the pattern in several places when they were piecing it together, so it was not a uniform pattern everywhere on the floor. They were also supposed to come back in a few days to seal the grout after it dried. Fast forward 3 weeks, after taking in pictures of the careless placement of tiles in the bathroom they finally send someone out to fix it this morning. They say they will have to piece meal each misplaced tile individually to correct the pattern and that the spacing issue was from a defect in the tile that they brought. That is fine, but then they should have not used the faulty tiles and had correct ones sent out. To cap it off, they only had 2 hours before another booked appointment so will still not have time to correct the issue, and still no sealer for the kitchen tile after 3 weeks. I also have still not heard anything on the quote I requested in April for a new counter top. Hopefully they will come through for me and make this all right, at which point I can adjust my review, but as it stands after over a month of dealing with them, I have to say that it should have been a much less stressful situation. If I wanted it done shoddily I would have done it myself, I hired professionals so that it would look like a professional job. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!...In my opinion, the salesman (DOUG) lies and his boss (DAVE) covers it all up. Lousy salesman not only came out and measured my entire area incorrectly.... he ORDERED the WRONG PRODUCT!. But I still had to pay for both wrong product and the installation of the wrong product. When I went to complain to "DAVE"...he showed me the purchase order the salesman had filled out...yes I had signed it...but how was I suppose to know all the names and numbers were WRONG!...That WASN"T my job to double check the big thick books numbers and names! I attend a large church, and EVERYONE there now knows how HORRIBLE this place is....not to mention my facebook friends. Since my husband and I have built 2 homes ourselves...we are not stupid people...we just trusted the WRONG company...So much for throwing away money to a "Local" company. I'll stick with Home Depot and Lowes. When I have had a problem ( once my blinds had come in with out the proper brackets to hang)...they fixed it right away..but that's all...They ordered the products correctly AND got the items installed withing 3 days of the store getting the items. That's what I expect from ANY company who I throw a ton of money at. I have also contacted and filled out a complaint with the BBB and the Oregon Dept of Consumer and Business. It's a shame, I go in on Tuesday to lay down a few more thousand on carpeting and then in the fall we are remodeling 2 bathrooms...GUESS WHO WILL NOT GET THAT BUSINESS! What can I say? I was dazzled by all the flooring choices in the store. I also liked the all inclusive costs listed on the samples. What I didn't like was the very slow customer service. We had moved to our new house and needed carpet. It was important to have it in sooner rather than later since we were sleeping on the floor unable to move in the furniture until the carpet was installed. Someone came to measure and stated they would get back to me at a certain day. I ended up having to call af few days after the arranged callback time/date because NO ONE got back to me. They still had not crunched the numbers to give me a cost. How hard is it to do this? This was also after I explained to them how important it was to get the carpet in soon. The response I received was that they had a lot of customers and were busy. They said they would get me the numbers the next day. Well, the next day came and I did see that they called but did not leave a message. Anyone who, by actions, shows that my money and my time isn't important to them does not deserve my business. read more

We will never do business with Color Tile in Salem, OR again. The whole house was supposed to be done by mid-July and here it is, mid-July and only one room is fully done. Between mis-scheduling, not ordering enough product, lack of communication, the installer leaving the flooring scratched, last minute excuses, actions to make up for our MULTIPLE inconveniences that never happened WE WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN!!
