Over the course of the project we shifted between 3 different project managers. All were easy to work with but somehow the owner didn't communicate our needs or our concerns. Concrete went in, forgot to route the downspout prior so had to build re-routing, left chunks of concrete in my yard and didn't sufficiently clean up, used small rock around the entire patio to fill in the gaps between the pavers and fence WITHOUT my consent (and will now have to remove), did not set up flower box drip systems correctly after I had asked for them to be removed from the project, and the best part... broke my rear house water spigot and tried to blame me (the home owner) that it was "about to bust" without talking to me first to determine an alternate option to use house water. They also tried to have me pay for 'extra' materials that Project Manager #3 had already told me that since I "paid for them, their yours". Last communication was that they were going to come back and fix it my water spigot. I'm sure you can guess whether or not they did. All in all, not a ethical company. I would not recommend them even if they seem as a good value. I'm furious the condition they left my yard, the added costs they tried to push on me, and the shear disregard for good service. The whole thing was done in 4 hours including the cleanup. The work was great and he's just a good dude. My son let our dog out the front door while we were reviewing the work and he spent 15 minutes driving around trying to help me find my dog.

Prior to learning about GST, we called other fence companies and they either never responded to our inquiry, or they never showed up to do the work after we accepted their bid. Our first contact was with Mike, via a Facebook message directly to the company page. We provided photos of the existing fence, along with photos of other gates on our property, so we could easily explain what it was that we needed. He responded in the same day and provided us with a quote within 24 hours. After we accepted his quote, he followed up with us to schedule a time for installation. He said that one of his employees, Lupe, would be coming to the house to do the installation. Lupe was on time, professional, and very friendly. I met with him to discuss the need for the gate and he explained what we would need (it was a very wide fence section) in order for the gate to look the same as the rest of the fence on the property, and yet also be functional. We also discussed additional needs for repair work on other fence sections on our property. I would highly recommend Lupe, Mike, and GST Fence for your fencing needs. They were professional, friendly, responsive, and the quality of the fence and workmanship is outstanding.

We had a big job. Huge eight foot fence with steel posts, eight foot gate with steel posts and swinging doors, another metal sliding driveway gate, a six foot cedar privacy fence, a six foot chain link fence with a person-gate and a vehicle gate, more chain link in other areas, and then a couple of other gates, one wood and one metal. We're talking thousands and thousands of dollars, and we wanted someone with a good work ethic who could do the job right. We were not disappointed. The entire (huge) job took about a week and a half to finish, not counting the unusual torrential downpours we experienced in Colorado at the time. The workers on the job were great, especially the guys who custom-made our wooden gate. They did a wonderful job and were always extremely friendly and efficient. I will say that there was some delay in our job starting. It started weeks after projected, though to be honest I expected this, having worked with many fence companies before. It was either a permit issue or a job scheduling issue, but at the end of the day, I don't much care. I love my fences and my gates, I feel much more secure, and I cannot recommend Chad and Arvada-Lakewood Fence Co enough!

Everything about our experience with Chris was a disaster, from the materials, to the labor, to his non-existent professionalism. Let's talk about materials first, or rather, the junkyard scraps he tried to pass off as "new wood": -Crossbeams with cracks covering half of the beam -Posts and crossbeams with huge chunks missing -Cedar wood that was already weathered and gray -Toppers (which cost extra!) that didn't even match in shape, texture, or color The crew had no supervision. No attention to detail. Couldn't even set the fence or gate in a straight line. Our gate (another thing we paid extra for!) is shaped like a Z. Not figuratively. Literally. See photos. We tried to raise issues immediately: structural concerns, warped lumber, gaps and uneven boards, and sloppy nails sticking out. Chris made excuses and then conveniently stopped by only when we were working on the second day of the work (after we clearly gave him our availability). When we finally met in person, Chris admitted that many parts of the job weren't up to his standards, and that our satisfaction was important to him. Thank god we recorded the whole conversation because he is a LIAR. (CO is a one-party consent state!) During this convo, Chris agreed to replace multiple boards and beams, replace the entire gate, and personally supervise the re-work. But once we followed up with a list of materials to replace, Chris completely flipped. Suddenly, we were being "unreasonable," and he demanded full payment. Apparently, it's fine for him to use trash materials and lie to your face but not okay for you to hold him accountable for what he already agreed to fix. Now you may be wondering why we hired him in the first place? Our family had worked with him two years ago, and the experience was good. We assumed we'd get the same experience this time. That was our mistake. After going back and reading his reviews now, we have realized our nightmare wasn't unique. It's Chris Lucero's pattern. So here's my advice: Do. Not. Hire. Him. Don't fall for his polished sales pitch. Don't pick the cheapest quote. Don't be fooled by Chris' pretend concern or fake professionalism. We're now stuck with a misaligned gate and unstable fence, all thanks to someone who should not be in business at all. Chris Lucero is not a professional contractor. He's a scammer with a truck and a nail gun.
