Then I explained that I was two and a half hours north of them and I had found a small clinic just 5 minutes from my house, as the treatment I needed would have required two treatments a day for six weeks. Suddenly, the tone changed, as did their body language. They told me if I went to the local clinic I was risking my life and would more then likely have a far less chance of recovering. Like they had a magic treatment of some sort. They tried their best to scare the hell out of me in plain English. While in fact I had noted the radiation machine they had and compared it to my local clinics. They had the very same machine and plan as my local clinic right in Lecanto Fl. I completed my 6 weeks of treatment and while it was rough, it did in fact help me. it's been 7 years. I would not recommend Moffitt at all for any type of cancer treatment. They didn't care about me or my situation. All they cared about was their numbers and studies. I love my Doctor. Dr Joey Bennitt. they did a great job and saved my life. If you get diagnosed with cancer, take a minute to really think about what will be the easiest for you and your family. these small clinics are a lot more personal and you see the same people every day during your treatment, while at Moffitt you never see the same people twice and they seem to be taking advantage of your diagnoses and will use it to their advantage to have you open your check book and say do what ever it takes. Truthfully, all the treatment facilities are the same and will do the exact same thing to help you. Don't fall for their scam. 7 years doing fine!

Dr Santiago is AMAZING. 10 STARS…read more I've had over 10 procedures and multiple ER visits prior changing to Dr Santiago for an perianal abscess. I was depressed and there was no end in sight. This was over 1.5 years and it shook my work life and social life. I was missing my daughter's graduation and all types of events. What Dr Santiago did was LISTEN to me as I walked her though my issues and past surgeries. Her approach was different, her methods showed the immediate results I needed. She has given me hope and my life back. I can finally be out enjoying time with my beautiful wife and daughter together.

My insurance told me no deductibles, no copay, but Dr. Santiago's office insisted I pay $100 up front "just in case." I paid, believing they would be honest and return it. In the office, Dr. Santiago did a procedure and I had to pay extra for itbecause that was "not covered." She then told me I needed to go get my prostate checked and she would refer me to a colleague. (I didn't go, suspecting already that this was a money generating procedure.) After my colonoscopy, she told me she had found one small polyp that looked harmless and that she had removed it, and then told me to check back into her clinic in one month. I didn't understand why because this had not happened with my previous two procedures. Her office scheduled me and I showed up a month later and sat around waiting for a long time. An hour later, since I had a business appointment, I told the front desk to reschedule. They did, and I left. But then just before the next appointment, they called to reschedule again. I asked them to send me my screening results. "No, can't do that, have to meet with the doctor first." This was another first. I asked two separate times, but they said they would only give them to me if I went into the clinic again. This is highly unregular, and I suspected they would look for something else to charge me for. They still haven't returned my deposit of $100. My primary care physician was puzzled by this whole thing, and so he said he would request the results since I had paid for them and they legally belonged to me. I would not recommend anyone else subject themselves to this bizarre treatment. Be very suspect if they ask you for money up front when there should be no copay or deductible. And when they tell you the only way you can get what is legally yours is to book another appointment with them!

Dr Moenning had me sit on this device and then did an examination on the table and after a talk ( a good talk about diet, meds etc ), Dr Moenning announced that in his opinion there was something wrong other than what I had come in for ( hemmoroids ) and made it sound like it could be something attached to my spine or other part of my body. I didn't take it seriously at that time which was a big mistake on my part. Here I am 1 1/2 years later, 7 treatments under anestisia with one guy in port charlotte and another in venice and finally as neither one of these experts even had an opinion, I went to a world renowned hospital where they, after a barrage of tests concluded that I may have pelvic floor disorder and absolutely not hemeroids. Had I just listened to Dr Moenning to begin with, I probably would have been able to avoid most if not all of the.........expertice these local port charlotte/venice docs bestowed on me . If Dr Moenning tells you something.......don't be like I was, listen and follow his directions. He knows what he is talking about. I wish I was close enough to see him but if you are anywhere near him, you should strongly consider seeing him for your medical issues.

He spent a good hour with me asking me what was going on with the previous Hiatal Hernia and why I couldn't eat with nausea. He made sure nothing else was going wrong with me. So far so good with my first time visit there to see Dr. Heiman he's a very informative guy he knows a lot about Gastroenterology and he knows my Primary care doctor and GI surgeon when i had my Gallbladder removed. He goes to Tampa General & St.Joesph Hospital and for Endoscopy and other procedures he goes to Florida Medical Clinic in Wesley Chapel.

I had gone…read moreto him a few times regarding finding a diagnosis for what I had been experiencing for MONTHS. At first he seemed helpful but once the tests started coming back negative (and it wasn't an easy diagnosis for him), he became unbearable to work with. During my last visit, I'm sitting in my chair, extremely underweight from all of the stomach symptoms I'd been experiencing since Jan. - when we (my mother and I) started asking questions about the plan of action/ sharing my past medical history, etc, Heiman became extremely irritable (not sure why as this is his JOB) and hovered over my mother and I, being extremely rude and dismissive. He was basically scolding us the whole time for being worried. At the end, he literally tried to have me go and do two tests I had done TWO DAYS PRIOR- he HAD the results. He was either blind when he reviewed my charts or didn't look at all. Considering his attitude in this, I'd expect the latter. When we realized what he had done (again we were extremely uncomfortable with him once he started yelling at us so we weren't thinking clearly), we told the nurse checking us out. When she told Heiman about how he ordered the same tests I had completed two days prior (keep in mind that Heiman was just around the corner in his office so we could hear everything), Heiman rudely kept saying out loud "did she actually do it? Call the labs to confirm" etc. He made me feel so dumb and belittled- it's not like I had done these tests weeks prior and maybe wasn't remembering right - literally completed them two days prior to seeing him. I left in tears because of his behavior and lack of bedside manner. The only good thing about that office are the nurses/lovely ladies who work at the front desk. We were extremely lucky that one nurse noticed his treatment (apologized for it since he sure wasn't going to) toward us and made it her mission to keep pushing him to look at my charts, order the right tears, etc. Finally we were approved for a CT scan (after asking several times to proceed with the next step instead of waiting to get unbearably sick again. Did he not realize I was having this happen for half of a year? I couldn't keep waiting for the next episode to occur. I was skin and bones and falling apart.) I'm happy to say that after going to different doctors/specialists (that actually know how to do their jobs), we found the problem and I had surgery yesterday. Guess it wasn't all in my head after all, Heiman? Best of luck with your superb bedside manner. A disclaimer to anyone reading this and wondering if they should see Heiman- I almost never leave reviews. I wrote this all out because I'd hate for someone else to go through what I did. If Heiman was competent, I could have had answers months ago and not gotten to the point where I felt like I had no quality in life because of the constant "sickness" I was going through. I see he has some higher rated stars. Sure I'm sure some of those are legitimate but I can guess that these were easy cases for Heiman. I liked him at first too, until he became very clearly annoyed with my case and essentially refused to push forward in strategic way. His "help" was to just keep waiting. I hope this may help someone with making the right decisions when going to see a specialist- someone who is supposed to be there to HELP you. I'm lucky that I found amazing Drs recently- ones that listened to my concerns and ordered different test right away. Less than a week later, I had my surgery Best of luck to anyone having ongoing medical problems- I know it's rough which is why finding the RIGHT Drs is so important
