The cashiers remember me from previous visits, and their private clients banker remembers to always ask about my family members. I feel like they are exceptionally attentive to detail, caring, and community oriented. We've received special service from them on multiple occasions. This has included someone staying a few minutes late to keep the branch open for important last minute transactions. The only mediocre experience I've had has been with the branch's loan officer. I had trouble getting return calls and eventually didn't get the best rate when I asked for a re-fi consideration. I went with a private mortgage broker who was able to get me a rate with Chase for 0.5% less. This, in my opinion, shouldn't be. Regardless, we have continued to bank with Chase. They have been nothing but exceptional on all other points. Special mentions include: Ricardo Smith, Michael Yackanin, Kevin Gear, and the speediest cashier in the east -- an older gentleman (wish I'd gotten his name)-- who can count money faster than an automated bill counter (no joke). All are superb at what they do and a pleasure to deal with.

In six decades with this bank (which has also served my parents, my siblings and their children), I've never had a problem of any sort. (And that's extremely rare in life; the consistently good service that they provide should not be taken for granted.) It's a model of what a bank should be. The people here are unfailingly kind, courteous, professional, and friendly (in a nice, small-town sort of way). They know who I am. They're smart and flexible. And can offer good advice when needed. The bank has grown a bit since I was a boy, with branches in two other towns (Hawthorne and West Orange), but it retains its appealing neighborhood feel, and its independence as a successful local business. (It has not been gobbled up by some larger bank.) I do business with various banks. But this is, by far, my favorite--very well-run. And they deal with people well. I'll always keep an account here.

They're closing branches! Try calling their 24/7 customer service line!!! Over 1 hour waiting! BTW my card was compromised. I got 3 replacements. They co mingled my account with someone else who is not on my account. Also had my legal name wrong on another. You can't pick up a card in the branch. They make you wait 10 days by mail or u can pay a hefty fee forme express delivery. Also nake you wait 10 days when you report a fraudulent transaction for the credit to your account. Balance transfer took 1 month to complete forcing the regular payment to be paid on the cards intended to be transferred. Log in is always broken and again can't get anyone on the phone to fix it. I'm so done. Going to file a complaint with the department of banking and insurance then march down there Monday morning and withdraw all my money to end my relationship with them. Warming everyone! They have serious issues.

Showed up the other day to deposit money in his account. He recently moved cross country and needed some cash. No big deal. No one was on line so I walked right up to the window. The clerk seemed flustered, deeply involved in a drive through window transaction. I stood there literally for 10 minutes waiting to fork over my check. "Is this your account?" No, it's my son's. "Are you on the account?" Again, no but I do want to deposit a check into it. Also worth mentioning is that my son and I have the same last name, as many fathers and sons do and my name was printed on the check. Personally, I'm not particular about deposits into my account. Anyone can do so and I promise not to object. Matter of fact, if anyone reading this wants to deposit cash, checks, rolled coins or anything else monetary, you're more than welcome to do so. What I do care about it who withdraws funds and insist upon me being the only one to do so. Over the years I've had many experiences with PNC Bank at various locations, all have which have been sub par. From holding a paycheck of mine for 14 days (bank was out of state, business was literally 10 feet from the branch) to my most recent experience, they never cease to drop the all important customer service ball. While other banks go out of their way to insure their clients' experience is up to par, PNC continues to miss the mark. Perhaps they should just stay in Pennsylvania.
