We needed a couple do things and they were instantly brought to us. Their valet service was wonderful too. You got such quick responses. There were also cute touches like a bourbon drink every night to ring out prohibition. The room was lovely and everything was so clean. We stayed at 3 places on our trip and this was our favorite.

The only real impact was that the bathroom was split into a toilet room and a separate shower room, with a hall in between. Completely manageable, just a little odd. We were more put out that they'd not mentioned the change at all. We were also placed on the 4th floor, immediately above very busy and very loud main street. I've never been a fan of soft water, and they do treat the water, so bring a scrubber if you want to get clean in the shower. Several of the doors in the suite are sliding barn doors, which can be a bit loud and unwieldly. The room could be kept dark and cold and the bed was comfortable, so ok for a good night's sleep, they just lack any good foam pillows which we prefer. Failed to connect our device to the TV - the HDMI ports are accessible, but the TV throws some error message when trying to use another device and the message can't be closed without unplugging the device and restarting the TV. At least they have Netflix. An attractive hotel, I liked the style of the place, and the prohibition repeal theme. Just too many bumps to get them to 5 stars. At least there are several alternative high end hotels convenient to downtown.

I was a bit out off by the limited base hours. It's Louisville. Should've the bar open before 5pm on a Sunday? She explained that the bar is separate from check in and the kitchen or something, and they couldn't justify bringing in a bartender. Just makes no sense. How somebody that can check people in and pour drinks. It wasn't that just. The good ... Location. Convenient to Yum Center, downtown bars and restaurants, Roots 101 (super recommend this), and the Muhammad Ali Center (further but walkable). The bad ... The rooms. The rooms are tiny. Not much room for more than the bed, shower, and restroom. You definitely don't want to have 2 people. There's no place to lounge at all. My housekeeper didn't come a couple days I was there. My bed was never made up. But, I did come back to some fresh towels. We only stayed here because a group of us came from California for the Cal-Louisville game. Had I known the rooms were this small, I would have stayed elsewhere. But, I understand that this is their "thing," so I can't fault the hotel. If you're looking to save a little and don't mind a small room, this is a good spot. But, is your tastes are more for a larger room, stay away.

If you know me, then you know I love art and free and this is exactly both!…read more I go here any chance I get to see what new art pieces are put up and when you walk in there are pieces to your right then you go the left and there's a wall projected of live footage of you but with letters falling as if it's a mirror, very entertaining and interactive then you keep going down the hall there are pieces hanging up in the conference rooms and when you get the chance to go downstairs there are multiple rooms to go walk through and even the restrooms both upstairs and downstairs have art as well! Once I went when they had Korean based art and it captured the beauty of the oriental style in a modern look and there was a story telling room where each art piece told a continuous short story which was such a neat concept! Last night when I had visited my partner and I got greeted by Darrel the security guard and he was very friendly and accommodating! Art can make you think, smile, and even laugh! I'm glad I was able to laugh at the beaded and sequin piece last night, it's eyecatching and makes you stay for a while.

I'm very disappointed with the misleading advertising at this 21C hotel. We booked specifically…read morebecause they advertised "breakfast on us" with a one-night stay, but that's not what we received. Instead of complimentary breakfast, we were charged $36 for a breakfast card that only had $36 in value - so we essentially paid for our own breakfast. To make matters worse, when we ordered, a single dish cost $22, which meant the "free" breakfast card didn't even cover one meal per person. This feels like false advertising. If you're going to charge guests $36 for breakfast, don't advertise it as "on us" or complimentary. Just be honest about your pricing. I expected transparency from this hotel, and instead got a confusing billing practice that left a bad taste - and not just from the overpriced food. I would not recommend staying here if you're expecting the advertised "free breakfast." In addition the pillows are HUGE and the front desk had no other options.

Tired as we were from a long days journey, we slept like babies because of his efforts! The room was fresh, spacious, clean and quiet. The coffee maker was a nice added touch. All fixtures and appliances worked well. The temperature control kept us comfortable too. We did not visit the evening reception or morning breakfast, however we were accommodated with a couple cartons of 2% milk for cereal we brought from home. Our room was in the west tower, which is the opposite side of the parking and requires 3 elevators to get to the west tower (until we discovered we could walk across the street for 2 elevators ). The staff were lovely and everyone thanked my husband for his service (Army Veteran) even offering him a free meal in the cafe and free snacks! Talk about spoiled! The room itself is ok. Literally just ok. The doors are SO loud, the door gap could fit a dang dog underneath it, the TV guide is weird and required to get to the upper channels, there's no luggage rack, and the space for clothes was limited. I realize not all people are staying for 2 weeks, but it made it frustrating to not have room for all our clothes. There's also no laundry room on site. No microwave in the room. The "fridge" is one of those weird cooler things and isn't supposed to freeze, but all of our stuff was frozen, even on low settings. Very weird. We did use an HDMI cable to watch TV off our computer because the TV was so dang frustrating.

The hotel could have been a 4 or 5 but:…read more The TV set had no external connections, and not even a headphone jack, so there was no way to attach any of my hearing assistive devices. (I have stayed in over 50 hotels and this is the only one I have EVER encountered that had TVs with no available external connections.) Not only that, but the TV channel guide is incorrect. Like Channel 39 should have been COZI but came up as BRAVO. And several channels came up as unavailable. So not only couldn't I hear the TV, but I couldn't find the programs I wanted to watch, even with closed captions. When I arrived, the A/C was set at 66. The wall A/C - heater was efficient though and warmed up the room quickly (although it took a while to warm the shower area). And when I arrived and found the light switch, it turned on a dim night-light luminescent panel near the door. I had to feel around the room to find a lamp, and then feel around some more to find the switch. And there were only 2 lamps in the room near the beds, so working at the desk was nearly impossible after dark. Many of the aforementioned hotels welcome their guests with a free bottle or 2 of water. The Galt welcomes them with a $7 bottle of Smart Water which costs around $2.50 in stores. I couldn't find a luggage rack. All the other positive things others have mentioned are reasonably accurate, but I didn't use it's dining establishments. But the cold, dark, room welcoming me, and pretty much useless TV, and hardly any lighting were a disappointment. I've been in 2-Star hotels which were better.
