We had a lovely time at the Central Park Bed and Breakfast! Majestic was so kind to us and really made us feel welcome. Our room was clean and comfortable and so much fun to stay in. Our room (The Peacock) and the entire house were full of gorgeous things! Our breakfast was quite enjoyable and filling. The snacks were tasty and very generous and there were plenty of movies to choose from. We had a great time and would completely recommend!

Arrived Monday night for a business trip this week. Bob and Eva are extremely accommodating. I leave early each morning for work, they had prepared my breakfast to accommodate my time because the daily breakfast starts at 9am. There are plenty of snacks, coffee, teas and wines available. The rooms are beautiful, true to the Victoria era. The bed was very comfortable, quiet to rest. My stay was truest enjoyable to relax after a long stressful day. Look forward to be back soon.

Wonderful Breakfast, outstanding hospitality and great conversation and recommendations from the innkeeper Majestic. Holiday decorations are great. Homemade goodies were delicious. Bre was a little charmer. We will definitely be back!

Fantastic B&B experience! Robert and Eva really know how to show true southern hospitality. Upon arrival we were greeted and given a brief tour of their home. Each room is unique and decorated beautifully. We enjoyed winding down in the sitting room with provided beverages after seeing a play at the Derby Dinner Playhouse. The next morning we were served a 3 course breakfast where everything was presented in such an exquisite way. We appreciated Eva catering to those in our group with special dietary restrictions as well. (Gluten free, sugar free) Very clean and comfortable place to stay!

Weekend getaway to Louisville and we stayed here. What an unbelievably great time! This place is gorgeous!!! Bob, the owner was so friendly and helpful in recommending places to go. His wife is an incredible cook who made the breakfast and everything was delicious. The rooms were very nice and clean. We can't say enough good things about them and this place. Do yourself a favor and stay here. The neighborhood was awesome and we walked it after breakfast each morning looking at all the pretty houses. We loved it!!

Note to Yelp HQ: there should be an extra category for places like this. Robert and Eva deserve a 6th (or 7th) star for their wonderful B & B and hospitality. A five star rating doesn't do enough justice for the excellent stay we had here. They don't only open their home for you but their hearts too. Making you feel welcome beyond imagination. I doubt that all of my family and friends can make me feel so welcome. We arrived in the afternoon. The B & B is beautifully located at a park about 20 minutes walking from downtown Louisville. We were welcomed by Brenda who helps out Robert and Eva. Very pleasant. She even insisted to take my suitcase two floors up. Mind you, these suitcases are packed for a three weeks and somewhat roadtrip. Heavy is the right word. She showed us the house, the garden and pointed out the amenities in a very enthoustiastic way. Even spoke about the neigbourhood favorite places to eat. The Central Park room was excellent. Big, luxerious, spotless clean and a good combination of the Victorian and modern time (very comfy bed). For those who can't go without it: yes, there even is a big screen tv. We loved the shower, the towels and the bed. There are even bathrobes. Didn't try the big tub. And we usually miss, especially in B&B's, outlets. No worries, Robert (or Eva, let's not think in old role patterns) made sure there are enough. Breakfast is served in the old Victorian dining room, completely in style. And oh how I envy Eva's China, silver, chrystal ornaments and most of all, her cooking skills. You'll love, love, love them. Everything is equally creative, well prepared and delicious. And it smells so good around the house all day.......you really don't want to leave. Robert is a very nice guy you'll love to talk to. He encourages you to let him help you with tips where to eat and what to see. And being a former head of the Chamber of Commerce gives hem a headstart with knowledge and connections. And he just has marvellous stories. What more can I tell you? Everyday fresh cookies, cake and treats. Enough coffee, tea(s) and soda. A beautiful porch to sit on and drink fresh mint juleps. You'll feel pampered. We're thinking of applying as foster childs ;). We'll definitely come back. And since Louisville - The Netherlands is not an obvious route we'll plan trips around this place. Starting with the Kentucky Derby in 2015 =). And please excuse any grammar and spelling mistakes. English is not my first language. And if that isn't enough, my Apple device keeps trying to autocorrect the English words into 'proper Dutch'. Yes, you've guessed right: my first language.

My wife and I stayed here to celebrate our fourth anniversary. We hadn't stayed at a B&B before, but we're so glad we did! The owners, Bob and Eva, were very knowledgeable and gave great advice on what to do around Louisville. The breakfast was amazing: the first course was peach soup with frozen raspberries and a wheat muffin; the second course was decadent French Toast souffle with bacon, eggs, and fruit. All of the rooms had a different personality. They provide free snacks and drinks, and a large selection of Blu-rays and DVDs with Blu-ray players in each room. Another great thing about this place is the location. It's right across the street from Central Park, which means going to Shakespeare in the Park (free) is super easy. We would love to stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay! The owners and staff are lovely and really made sure we enjoyed ourselves. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised that we have been "upgraded"! We originally booked the Peacock Room but were upgraded to the Rose Garden Suite. The whole Bed and Breakfast is beautiful! Our Suite was gorgeous and really enjoyed the huge jetted tub! Our breakfast was delicious and we really loved the little "extras"! We will recommend this place to our friends and family! We hope to visit again soon!

    St. James room, 3rd floor...gorgeous!

My hubby took me there in celebration of my 70th birthday! An equestrian experience was actually #2 on my bucket list, and it was such a joy to spend time at this amazing place!! Have always loved horses, and have had some experience/training as a teenager, but hadn't gotten my hands on a horse in decades. We were met at the inn at check-in by co-owner and master chef, Jeff Perellis. He showed us around the B&B, gave us a history lesson about the 2 circa 1790's cabins that had been enclosed within the beautifully restored dwelling, and made us feel most welcome. Later during our stay, he prepared several truly delicious breakfasts and dinners for us, as well. Co-owner Susan Perellis, an award-winning horsewoman whose family has owned this property for over 200 years and who grew up on the farm, arranged for us to have a riding lesson and trail ride with one of her trainers. The instructor, Linda, was very patient with us old folks, and was wonderful to work with. And a shout out to Linda's daughter, Lisa, who acted as a sort of ambassador for the farm from the minute we stepped past the inn's gate and into the horse barn area. (They have 5 barns and dozens and dozens of horses there!!) Lisa introduced us to most of the horses, helped teach us how to interact with them, gave us tips on riding, etc. Many people who come to Spring Run Farm and Inn just stay the night while they are doing other things in the area. Not us! We parked the car, then stayed on the property the whole time to get the most from this adventure! All the other riders at the farm were exceptionally friendly, as well, and were always willing to tell us about their horses, and often gave us treats to give to them! (Who knew horses liked peppermint candy!!) During our stay, we walked all over the property, and were also able to observe several riding lessons during our visit. Our entire experience at Spring Run Farm and Inn exceeded our expectations far beyond our wildest dreams, but the "icing on the cake" was going with owners Susan and Jeff during their "night check" of all the horses in the barns!! Can't tell you how special and magical it was to walk into a darkened barn at night, having Susan switch on the light, and all the beautiful horses sticking their heads out of their stalls to see who was coming to visit them!! A big THANK YOU to Jeff, Susan, Linda, Lisa, and everybody at Spring Run Farm and Inn for helping me celebrate my special birthday! We hope to be back soon!!!

Jeff, the proprietor, asked what time we wanted breakfast. With nothing early to do that day we settled on 8:30. We came downstairs at 8:30 to find the table set. Coffee and orange juice on the table. There was yogurt and fresh blueberries and strawberries too. Then Jeff brought the eggs, bacon and potatoes! So much more than the bagel and granola bar I was expecting! I won't step though all four breakfasts in this much detail but just list some things that Jeff, a former chef, served. Bacon every day, baked French toast with fruit, a quiche, grits (my request), pancakes and there was always cereal if my daughter turned her nose up at something. This was the best meal of the day every day we were there! Did I mention how hot it was? We had brought a cooler on the five hour drive from home with water and pop that we planned to drink throughout the week. We brought the whole cooler home untouched! As we 'checked in' Jeff showed us the beverage fridge (water, soda, beer) which he kept stocked for the whole stay. Finally I will mention the early evening social hour snacks. Chips, dip, veggies, meat, cheese and always a bottle wine. Any time I need to be in Louisville I will be staying at the Inn !!

The photo of the home on the website does not give a correct impression of the house or the neighbourhood, which is a little on the sketchy side. There are some boarded up and very run-down homes and among them, Aleksander House doesn't stand out as looking that much better. It is nicely appointed inside, though not as nice as others I've stayed at in Louisville. I would also recommend you get a clear indication of the room rate and the taxes you'll be charged. We were relying on the rate listed on the website and, oddly, in our confirmation from the proprietor, the rate was not indicated. In addition, we didn't get the promised confirmation until we requested one shortly before our trip there despite the downpayment charge showing up on our credit card statement well in advance. In the end, we were charged much more than anticipated and much more than we would even expect for the quality of the home and the overall experience. We were told that the rates had gone up in January 2013 even though they hadn't been changed on the website. Ultimately, she refunded us a token amount but not nearly what we had good reason to expect. The breakfast was totally "meh". It was okay but nothing memorable. On the other hand, the breakfast and accommodations at the Inn at Woodhaven (also in Louisville) are SO MEMORABLE - SO MUCH better and we have never felt overcharged there. Overall, the quality of the accommodations was okay ... and we are pretty relaxed and accommodating travelers ... but we feel a little ripped off. Had the cost been more in keeping with the quality, we would give it a better review despite the neighbourhood and the other little inconveniences and issues.
