We could've stayed here all day! The employees are friendly. I love how the play structures are Nebraska themed. And I really loved how they play Disney music on the speakers! The only thing I would critique is the parking. The museum itself is close to UNL, the university campus. Making it hard to park. There is meter parking available however there's also a ton of construction, making it easy to get lost if it's your first time visiting. Other than that -- we had a fabulous experience. I think getting a membership is worth it.

Bryan Hospital and the Lincoln Fire Department sponsor a fire truck experience in minature and health care activities. There are legos, an airplane, construction equipment and even a wooden apple tree with "apples" that fall from the tree. The prairie dog town and animal identification stations are fun too. There's a cafe of sorts that was closed when we went. The only real downside I saw was it wasn't as clean as I would expect. For example, there were cookie leftovers in the fire truck. Since we got there right at 9:00 when they opened, it seems unlikely that this was new. Someone should do a complete walkthrough before they open to make sure it's clean.

The York Area Children's Museum is a wonderful museum for the price of admission, which is just $1…read moreper person. There are plenty of different exhibits for the kids to do such as a grocery store, diner, construction area, gas station, doctor's office, vets office, space room and a house. Like I said, its a good deal for the money, and with my kids as young as they are, they had more fun here than at the Omaha Children's Museum because it was way less crowded and they could actually enjoy it. It's truly a hidden gem for small kids in York, Nebraska and the surrounding area.

There are a ton of different play areas, including a pizzeria, grocery store, dress-up area, doctor's office, and even an infant play area. Some of the toys have seen better days, but the kids did not care one bit. We went on a weekday afternoon and had the place to ourselves! Admission is $5 for each person over age 1, which seems reasonable since the kids could have stayed here for hours. Our kids were ranging in age from 8 months to 2.5 years old, but the museum also would be good for kids who are older. All in all, the kids had fun and there were quite a few tears when we had to leave.

Gift shop items were displayed in the lobby area and had a STEAM (science/technology/engineering/arts/math) focus. We toured the Doc Edgerton displays and activities (one was not working) that had interactive pieces. The central area would appeal to children of all ages with learn thru play components making bubbles, building blocks, pattern connections, memory sequence competitions and more. One of the stations was missing pieces but worker bees were swarming and resetting stations on our visit. Admission was $10 and you could spend 3-4 hours and keep busy. We did not make it down to the lower level. Restrooms needed attention, but we stopped during a busy time so that may have contributed. If you are looking for a fun place to spend a day immersed in learning and exploring with your children, this would be a great stop.

Pretty good at showing what early settler life in the area was like in a variety of ways. Then the Railroad Town gives depth to that experience, with relocated historic buildings staffed with living history. Considering the size of the town and daily operations, it makes sense that every building can't always be staffed -- and if they were, it'd sure take a long time to get through. The main exhibit building itself is a bit ridiculously grand: why is it surrounded by a moat and have fountains in the middle? That design would make more sense for an art museum maybe.

From Model T cars to the latest show cars, from drag racers, Indy cars, off-road vehicles, Midget racers, and hot rods to pedal cars, Soap Box, BMX bikes and antique toys plus everything in between, this museum has it all. Bone…read moreCreek Museum currently has a 20/20 exhibit of 20 curated Nebraska artists in addition to native son Dale Nichols. Don't let the unassuming exterior fool you. This little museum was a happening place at 10:00 am on a September Saturday morning. We parked at the door and were warmly greeted by Barbara who proudly told us the history of the building and gave us an overview of the current exhibit. We learned that exhibits change every three months and pre-Covid have had a public opening with exhibiting artists. I was impressed with the excellent lighting and display of the artwork. A small gift shop and restroom is located between the two exhibit areas. We signed the guest book and shared our address for upcoming mailings. No admission is charged but a jar for donations is available. We are looking forward to Bone Creek's next exhibit!

They even have an Air B&B that's really nice. I'm told that they are just beginning and have plans to make this a world-class venue with all kinds of interactive exhibits.
