Nice place to go with the little ones. Just make sure you check their Facebook page/give them a call to see when open play is for the day

I think they have thought of every detail, including a mother's room, awesome work spaces for parents, snacks available to purchase, and free (good quality) coffee for parents. There are so many cool things for kids to play with: costumes, sensory activities, books, magnatiles, etc. I like that they have a maximum number of kids per session, so it doesn't get too crowded or unsafe. They also leave time between sessions to thoroughly clean. I am so impressed by Playful Pines, and I've recommended it many times since my visit.

I mention that to emphasize: this was our FAVORITE one. Ages of our kiddos - 6, 5, 1. It had something for all three of them to enjoy, but the environment for the parents was the WINNING spectacle for me. You shouldn't expect this to be a spontaneous drop-in, because they do abide by 2-hour play sessions, booked ahead of time... but it is so worth it. The 'crowd' was so manageable - way less chaotic and loud and rambunctious and overstuffed than another play cafe in town. The noises are buffered well by all the soft surfaces, and they had little nursing corners for new mamas and plenty of space for parents to sit and work/chat outside the play space, and IN it if you wanted. The thing that REALLY sold me here was the staff and hospitality. An hour into the play time, one of the young women running the desk actually joined the bigger kids and played alongside them. At some point, a kid fell and bumped his head, and she immediately went and grabbed an ice pack without prompting. They also have a stash of wipes/pull ups/diapers/cream etc just in case you run out while you're on site. Now that is just plain genius. We will happily return. Job well done!

It's also small that you don't end up dying there but still packs a punch and not so big that you can prob feel safe letting your older ish kids out of your sight a bit and not worry too much about them getting in danger. I actually don't like to let ppl know about special finds like this as I worry it will become too popular but the distance will prob keep us from visiting too often or at least for a while. The staff is incredibly nice , welcoming , friendly and helpful and if you have a membership to the Omaha children's museum or probably any children's museum you can either most likely get in free or at a discount. Otherwise I believe it was $14 for each person which then can also be turned into a traveling membership too. Also even the playground on the outside is pretty incredible and that one is just free to use for the public.

They Tried to force me to pay for the 4, FOUR of us AND Buy 4 pairs of Their lost in space sox with Their logo. I Again explained the above, then some smart*ss young clown (Looked and acted like an obnoxious 20 yr old) came over, said he's "the owner" and it's "a Policy" that we Have to Buy Their sox. Told him that in our 14 Years of Regularly going there (6-15 X Yearly) we were never Required to buy Their sox, and the girls had on New white sox which we Throw Out after each time playing there because they get so filthy. Again he said "It's a Policy". He Still Insisted I pay the full price they rang up, saying that they have a sign on the outer door telling people about their New "policy". THEN some 300 pound guy from the kitchen came out to try to intimidate us with his size. It's a shame when businesses make SOO VERY MUCH $$$$ that they become Arrogant and Don't even Try to be at all reasonable. These folks Don't care about You or your children, Just How Much $$$$ They Can extract from families with young children. They Keep trying to extract Every Single dollar they Can From You, All the way Thru the place, Front to Back. HIGHLY recommend you go to Lincoln Children's Museum downtown INSTEAD of this place. LCM has THREE Floors of Fun learning activities suitable for 6 months to 13 years old. And YES, they do birthday parties. We Took the children There and they Absolutely LOVED it!!!
