Silver Lake Hospital has been a blessing for my mom and me. She arrives in very poor condition, yet the care she receives is outstanding. The medical team, therapists, staff, management, and even the security officers are incredibly kind, professional, and attentive, and they always make us feel safe and supported. I am given a private room with my mom and a sofa so I can stay overnight and help care for her, which brings me so much comfort. After a very difficult experience at another hospital in Brooklyn, the compassion here has helped me heal emotionally and trust the healthcare system again. Everyone--from the doctors and nurses to the physical, occupational, and respiratory therapists, nutritionists, and security--treats my mom like their own family and truly focuses on her recovery. I strongly recommend Silver Lake Hospital to anyone who wants their loved one to receive excellent care and recover as quickly and comfortably as possible. read more

Words can not even begin to describe how grateful we are to all the staff, nurses, doctors and administrators of this Center. It is a great place with compassionate caring staff, they go above and beyond to make sure patients and families feel comfortable are well taken care of. The nurses took time to talk to us several times a day and explain in detail my father's condition. My father spent about two months in this facility and the progress he made is incredible! I waited many months to write this. My dad was at Columbus from May 2 until June 4th battling Covid-19. He was sent there after it was clear that he could no longer stay at the regular hospital he was in (max 30 days) but he was fighting to survive and no where near able to come home! My family and I spent one month of sheer hell trying to get information on my dad's condition. The first week he arrived at Columbus, we went almost 3 days without knowing anything nor hearing a word back from any nurse or doctor regarding my dad's condition. I had to call and complain to the NJ Dept of Health before anyone called me back and this went on basically the entire month of May. By luck, I found a helpful NP who was able to get me at least clinical info on my father. He ended up with a Stage 4 Bedsore that came from neglect! Toward the end of May when my dads fever finally broke and he was able to speak, he said to me on Facetime "if you love me get me out of here. I will die here!!" Its now September, my dad is home and he still has the bedsore that is slowly healing. I could go on and on but I am going to tell you this. Do NOT put a loved on here. We had no choice as the hospital gave us a 20 minute heads up that this was the place they were moving my father too. We had no notice. Disgusting on their part too. Please, do not be coerced by anyone or anyplace to send a loved on here. Steer clear at all costs! I would attach a photo of the bedsore but it is too graphic to post here! read more

Our Mother was at your facility after a bout with COVID-19 and a battle with bad kidneys. Your staff was incredible caring, loving, nurturing even after we would pester the poor staff. I thank and send blessings to each and everyone of the nursing staff. But I really needed to point out one individual that really went above and beyond . Samuel Gabriel, This man ( along with the staff) really went out to make Mommy comfortable. Told us everything going on and any changes. We sent him a fruit basket as a very small token, But this man really needs to be applauded for his unwavering care of our mom, Mom would hear his voice and her eyes would light up! He is very soft spoken but his words were strong. Our Mom lost her battle at Clara Maas, through no fault of anyone, Mommy was just tired. But we needed to thank Sam. He walked and worked through the pandemic and not once did he lose sight of all his patients. This man deserves a medal a raise and all the hugs the man could take. Sam Gabriel is an Angel on earth. This is the worst hospital any one can set foot in to they are so dirty the bucket they use to clean a patients room before there arrival was so dirty with mildew and dirt I could t believe they where going to use it to mop! let alone the staff are so rude and disrespectful with there patients and tours there family members I witness with my own eye how one nurse would tell a patient who was restrained to bite him self!!! I have seen the staff hanging around while patients ventilators are going of like crazy to the point where they are coughing so much that they turn beat red people don't bring your family members here they will paint you a pretty picture and it's b.s I wish I could upload my father videos and how discussing they would have his trache full with phlegm and blood but I dbt want to expose my father. But people if you love your family members as much as I love my father take my advise this place need to be permanently closed!!!!! read more

This hospital is terrible! Please don't send your love ones here. The doctors and nurses never follow up nor do they answer the phone. My aunt is here and they are not giving her the proper care. This is the most disgusting hospital. Some of the nurses have attitudes. Drs. taking care of your loved one are no where to be found to talk to. My brother passed away there. He needed to be hydrated with an IV and drs did not follow through. As soon as you change the directives, your done. They find a way to "get rid of you". That which happened to my brother. Find another place. A veterinary office is more caring. RUN from this place!!! read more

I was just there and I won't be back after many years, that place is falling apart they are son disorganized and unprofessional starting with the office manager Christina, they keep giving wrong information every time you call or go there. They not even notify patients when they're due for recall visit or blood test until you are there. They office look mad dirty and disgusting they only you see is people sitting around doing nothing while pts are waiting. Won't recomend this place to nobady. Bad management. read more

Amazing 5th FL NURSES I honestly love that my father Amar Persaud enjoys his therapy and that says a lot! They have given him confidence and taught him that its okay to be different, also given him the strategies to move forward in life!! We have been extremely pleased with our father progress. The Nurses exhibited good patience and love for their job. They all really helped out our father. Don't be fooled by the looks of the place or the neighborhood. This is an amazing place. I'm a medical examiner investigator and EMT, and two of my mom's friends, who visited her every week for 4 months in Columbus are nursing home nurses (RN's). We did extensive research on 4 NJ LTACH's after a disastrous experience in the Carter LTACH in NY. We spent days going to other LTACHs and talking with numerous family members of patients and staff and found that reviews on line rarely matched watching how the place worked and hearing directly from those in the facilities. They were both patient and family centric. They provided three FREE roundtrip Uber rides every week from the Bronx so she could have visitors every day. My mom presented a very challenging case after almost dying in Mount Sinai Medical Center NYC (they were excellent). Those docs said they couldn't believe she survived day one, let alone the 4 weeks she was in their CCU. The staff at Columbus were extremely competent, incredibly caring, and very hard working. I spent hours on the phone with her cardiologist and pulmonologist as well as hours during face to face visits in mom's room. There was no shortcutting whatsoever when it came to time and services. They provided customized treatment that was literally evaluated every day. staff ratio's were better than any of the other LTACH's - not what's on paper, but what really happens. 5 of us visited her so that she only had one day without a visitor so we saw what was going on. the longest she ever had to wait to be cleaned up after a bowel movement for example was 12 minutes - normally it was less than 5 minutes. What really amazed me was how often respiratory therapists, nurses, and nurse aids who were not assigned to her that day, came to check on her to say hi and to see if she needed anything. We were very demanding and they consistently and promptly met those demands. Mom was frightened during weaning on the trach collar, so much of the time there was a respiratory therapist stationed right outside her door in her line of sight during weaning. And if the RT had to work with other patients, someone else stayed close by. The building is filled with Dr. offices - so unlike other LTACH's we reviewed, there are a huge number of doctors with different specialties available whenever needed. And the associated Clara Maass hospital ICU was excellent. Mom's Columbus doctors went straight to her there when she needed a few days in the ICU. I work with hospitals all over the country for my work so I get to see more than most folk. My Godmother is an ICU nurse supervisor in Dallas and her opinion after calling several times a week for more than 5 months to get updates made her say that she found Columbus exception. I dont know what you people are talking about i been there 2 times for 6 weeks twice and i am 37 years old and not on my death bed like every other patient there whos days are literally numbered when family members show up they just feel guilty because they cant or dont want to provide better help for the loved ones...lets be honest thats why you blame the nurses instead of saying hey im a terrible son or daughter we all know what you really want to ask is "when do you think they will be dead" "im sick of driving here plus i need the insurance money" the young nurses are pretty hot they are cool and have a stressful job like cleaning up your loved one in a pool of their own diarrhea on their bed...you dont want to do it so they do.......i hope you really think about this and change your opinion and be real....have a great day I have to beep my hot young nurse for my medicine.... read more

this place has really helped my sister get back on her feet. it was a lil tough at first but because it seemed as if my sisters wound wasnt healing. but now 3 weeks later her leg/wound seems brand new . i want to thank the staff for all of there help. read more
