My daughter and I have visited this salon a few times, and unfortunately our experience today was…read morereally disappointing. When we walked in, we were the only customers. I asked for a basic manicure and pedicure for both of us, but we were quickly upsold on additional services. While we were in the middle of our appointments, about five other customers came in. Each one was greeted and offered a drink as they were seated. We were never offered anything at all, which made us feel overlooked and disrespected--especially considering we had already been there longer and ended up spending over $100. It's not about the drink itself, but about the inconsistency in how customers are treated. That kind of service leaves a bad impression. For clarity, we did not bring any drinks in with us either. Sadly, after this experience, we won't be returning.

This was my first time at Signature Nails and I will not be returning. For years, I got shellac…read moremanicures and pedicures every two weeks so I have a lot of experience getting my nails done. I haven't gotten my nails done in a few years, now, and wanted a professional to clean up my cuticles and shape my nails and then polish them with regular polish for a special event coming up in a few days. On the plus side, I walked in yesterday and was given a next-day appointment. I came today and was put into the care of one of the men who work there. I was disappointed that he didn't spend much time cleaning up the cuticles on my toes. Otherwise, the pedicure was fine - basic. I brought my own polish. However, at the end of the service no employee offered me the disposable flip-flops that many salons use and I had to crawl off the chair and dig around for my shoes and socks because he had kicked them under/behind the seat of the spa chair. My manicure is probably the worst I've ever gotten. Honestly, I could have done a better job myself, which defeats the purpose of going to a salon. He barely worked on my cuticles (did not use cuticle remover gel at all) and he trimmed my nails unevenly. They are not all the same shape and two fingers have visibly slanted nails. The polish he used was thick and gluey and dried unevenly - overlapping onto the cuticle at the base and the skin on each side of the nail. He cut two of my fingers with the nippers - one badly enough that it is still bloody and looks like I ripped a wicked hangnail. The polish is uneven and so thick I am sure it won't cure before I ding it, and I waited twenty minutes before I left the place. I paid fifty dollars for the service and if he hadn't been standing there peering at the credit card machine I wouldn't have tipped. I did tip five percent (I wait tables and I believe in tip karma!) but it was undeserved. I just don't understand why a company wouldn't make more effort on a brand-new client that they would see twice a month, if that person is happy with the service. I recommend Columbus Nails over this place, even though I quit going to Columbus Nails because I wasn't happy with their high prices and inconsistent quality of service. If you have to choose a place in town, I would avoid Signature Nails.

Update: I got my nails done with gel polish on the 17th. It is now the morning of the 19th and…read morethey're already chipped. I loved this place and they always did amazing on my nails, but I can't go back anymore after my horrible experience and the horrible response afterward. Last time I went, Kathy did my nails. The whole time I felt like she was very judgy about what I was requesting for nail designs and such. Despite this, I still went back because I was raised to believe in second chances and I really did enjoy how my nails looked afterward. I went in to get nails done for my birthday and everything was great, however everything went south very fast. I am already very anxious because this was my first time ever getting my nails done alone, so this just added to the experience. The lady doing my nails had stuff on her finger I assumed were scabs. I brushed this off originally because I thought it'd be okay- but when she was painting my nails, I'd noticed a SCAB fell off ON MY NAIL. She originally was gonna paint over it until I commented about it. She thought I was talking about the polish, but when I pointed to the scab she just laughed it off and took it off the brush and wiped it onto the back of the machine that dries your polish. Everything was awful after that. I felt so anxious to talk and tried to just sit through it all. I didn't know what to say! This was my first time ever getting my nails done alone! The response from the manager was awful too. I called in to speak with her about my experience after I got home. It was a lot of back and forth about who, what, where, when, why. The only thing she offered was to give the tip (yes- I still tipped!) back. I will never be going back here again. This was such a horrible and unhygienic experience, and the response back from the manager really made my decision to never come back.
