Such a great little hidden gem. They offer a military/veteran discount which is so nice. It's very family friendly. Dog friendly on leash (Check in breed type). Great lighting and clean restrooms & showers. Little creek running in the park and nice common areas for kids to play. Super reasonable. It's rustic and quaint. read more

It's 12:50am and there are multiple groups of campers who are having loud conversations. The staff came at 10:15pm to ask one of the groups to turn down their blaring music and the campers started arguing with the management. I feel bad writing a review for the business as it's not their fault their patrons are terrible. Be warned whoever visits this campground about who you are camping next to. I'm a seasoned camper at a variety of different sites and this is the worst experience I've ever had. read more

This park is a pretty decent choice for lake access. The staff are all very friendly . The cost is 6.50 to get in, which is reasonable if you are bringing your whole family. The bank is sloping to the water with not a lot of beach area for kids to play but the water gets deep gradually so it works fine for kids. They offer a fun trampoline in the water for kids over 14 to use but it closes at 6 which really stinks since I dont get off work until 5. I knocked a star off for that because it doesnt make sense to close it so early when kids are still swimming past 8 pm. They offer blow up inflatables for kids for 5.50 for two hours which is a decent value. There little store has snacks, ice cream bars, and drinks which is nice. They have a few picnic tables to sit at. They have a dock for kids to jump off of and a roped swimming area. I wish they would get a better speaker system though....the music they play out of a speaker is distorted and a obnoxious. It is a constant noise so if you are looking for solitude this isnt it. I also wish there wasnt so much duck and goose poop on the lawn, we stepped in it several times throughout the day. I imagine it is hard to keep clean though. The crowds were limited on the day we were there and it was a nice family oriented crowd unlike some of the public places I have been at. We will probably be back but PLEASE consider keep trampoline open later on week nights for us working folk. read more

Got a deal for 2 nights of camping at this private park. Visited last month with 2 friends, and really enjoyed my time! The park is very close to Oly, but honestly feels really out in the wild. Lots of trees and privacy, free showers, and you can come in for day use if you don't want to camp. They also had a playground, sand volleyball pits, and of course lake activities. I would recommend this spot to anyone, but a few things to note: it is family run, which means while the staff is friendly, there are inconsistencies. In addition, bring bug spray, you'll need it. If you want to reserve space for an event or camp outside of the deal, it can be pricey- I liked this spot so much I wanted to use it for an employee BBQ but the prices were just too high. I was quoted separate fees for day use, reservation of outdoor kitchens, and vball pits. Why so many separate charges if you are already charging a day use fee?? read more

We came here for our first camping trip with our toddler (will be 2 in October). Overall, we were pleased. Park: clean, fairly spacious, nice although small sandy beach area Office: efficient, has a good amount of supplies, helpful and very nice people/staff Camping: quiet hours kept for the most part (10pm music off but people a few sites away from us were yelling and running back and forth around sites until about midnight), close to the water, bathrooms, etc. The site was kind of unkempt when we arrived (lots of cigarette butts everywhere, tons of trash - including a full container of lighter fluid - in the fire pit, dog food and orange peels all around the site), cost was alright ($30/night) read more

I have spent years coming here with my family and most recently I got married here last summer. I greatly enjoyed my spot, however I didn't care for the management. I'm very glad my mom dealt with them and I didnt. They were honestly pretty rude and kept changing the contract to get every penny they could out of me and my guests. We have enjoyed many years of fishing, swimming, jumping off the dock, bbqs, camping and plan on returning for many more memories. I just wish the office staff had better customer service. read more

Columbus Park used to be awesome. My family went there for years. We really enjoy the lake and the kids loved it.. Until this past weekend. It was the worst experience camping we have ever had!!! I'm not kidding either that is why I'm on here writing this review. It was so bad I don't even know where to start!! In Feb. we booked a group camping weekend. Because my family has gone here for years I told all my friends this is a great family park and we will have a blast. So I invited 4 other families to join my family camping. We paid this place $200.00 that well frankly was not well spent. Before we booked our spot my husband and a friend of ours went down there to see what the best spots would be to hold our group. They got it all squared away and even walked the park with a staff member. He pointed out the best spots to fit us all. He got everyones names that would be camping, how many kids, how many tents, and how many vehicles on record. Great everything is squared away this is going to be great fun!! We are all waiting 6 months to have this wonderful vacation. We get there early in the day on Friday so we can set up camp and go play at the lake. 3 of us get there at the same time. The other family was about 2 hours later, and the last family arrived in the evening. They all head down to the lake and the Mom's are behind grabbing the snacks when a staff member, (same one who helped us pick out the sites) said that we were in a site that was not ours. Why did this happen? Because their sites are not clearly MARKED!!! It was so confusing, and caused such a headache. My husband went by what he had shown him back in Feb. So my poor friends had to come back from the lake and move their tent over and their kitchen area. Now the spot is way to small. And the 2 families are squished like sardeens in between other campers. We went down there in Feb to make sure this wouldn't happen!! Also when he told us where we needed to be, he still didn't make sense. My husband had to go get help because he didn't understand why we weren't in the correct spots. They took forever to come and help us, so we had to go ask for help again from another staff member. Who by the way looked like he hadn't taken a shower in a week and his shorts were disgusting!!!! So after we all moved our friends tents we were able to enjoy our time at the lake. Our friend who shows up later in the evening checks in the office. She wasn't sure if you had to pay extra for parking, and she asked them if she did. They said I don't know you should know that.. You would think because they wanted all our information that they would know if she did. She paid them for extra parking and then when she got to our site told me she did. She didn't need to do that because we get 2 cars per site. We did not exceed that. They wouldn't give her a refund and told her it was her choice to pay the extra. She should of known. Um no they should of known because they are the ones who are running the business and keeping track of who is camping at their sites. They were so rude to her and there was no customer service at all. So they just took her money for nothing. The beach is littered with cigarette butts. If your a smoker you might not be bothered by that. However if you are a family that doesn't you may find that repulsive. Especially if you have young ones who like to pick things up off the ground. We get back to camp and have a great meal. Friday night was a good night. Until you go to bed, and oh my there is street lamps right above your tent. You can't sleep well because they light up your tent and make a terrible buzzing sound?? Is this camping??? NO!!! Saturday we get up and get ready to go to the lake. The bathrooms are starting to look well used. There is no more paper towels, and the toilets are getting clogged in both bathrooms with toilet paper all over the floor. Oh and the soap is also getting low. We go to the lake and have a great time. If you bring dogs you have to go to a certain area that really isn't that great. It's a big hil that drops off into the water. And after 1:00 its nothing but shade. So you get cold easily. I must tell you the children that go there and even the adults use terrible language. For example... Our children were jumping on the water trampoline they sat down on the edge to take a break, a grown woman got on the trampoline and said "if your not going to jump get the F*** off. To our children REALLY??? This park is not very family friendly. It is not very clean and you see the staff members smoking more than you see them picking up the cigarette butts and the facilities. So the meteor shower was the weekend we went. Supposed to be amazing right??? Our kids are all excited. When it gets dark we take them down the the open area, so that we could lay quietly on the grass and watch the show. We weren't being loud at all. They made us leave.. Had out summer employee party out by the lake. Not sure what the company paid, but it was worth it. We enjoyed the horseshoe pit, volleyball, and the kids loved the play area. Big thanks to Jerry for cooking that day (they even have a huge BBQ they let us use so we didn't have to pack ours there!). And found out we can launch our jetski there for $7! They keep an eye on my truck and trailer while I go out and play. read more

Our family loves Columbus Park. Purchasing a season pass was definately the way to go as we are there 3-5 times a week when we aren't camping there for the weekend. The staff is super friendly and enforces only basic rules of safety to ensure a good time for all. read more
