We decided on Carolyn Klingener, Master of Beauty. Very unprofessional approach. The contract requested was sent in a picture form, unable to fill out and send. When I reached out to her she said it was ok, she just fills them out?? My daughter went for her "trial". Carolyn was not only late for this appointment but also told my daughter that the wedding date was not available. This is after filling in my application with date and conversation on phone verifying date. She "rearranged her schedule" and made the date open. Carolyn told my daughter "she did not want to tell her about the scheduling conflict on the phone" giving us no time to react until we were on site and since the wedding was 6 weeks away wasting more time to make an adjustment. My daughter had very little confidence in her at this point. They went ahead with the trail, she did not have an airbrush with her, seemed completely unprepared. The makeup within a few hours was smearing, her eyes looked black when she return home to her fiance. Her fiance's first reaction " Is that what you are going to look like for our wedding". We paid 150.00 dollars for the trial and found another makeup artist.

She's texted me to confirm my appointment and where I lived (she drove all the way to my house in Waialua) and emailed me some tricks and tips to prepare my hair and skin ahead of time which was really helpful. She also asked for certain kinds of photos so she could get a clear idea of what my vision was for how I wanted to look. I also really appreciated how she knows her craft well. When my eyes started tearing up and my hair couldn't hold a curl she knew just what to do and adjusted very well to the challenge. Well, what I think is a challenge she handled with grace and finished on time. During my wedding I was a wreck. I am a crier. But the fact that my makeup lasted all day and night 11am - 11pm through all the sweat and tears and festivities just goes to show that if you need a hair and makeup artist Angela will definitely exceeds expectations.

One month before my wedding, I had a hair and makeup trial at another salon in Breck. It was a nightmare:(. My poor mother weighed our options as I was having a major meltdown. She decided to reach out to Weemala after receiving recommendations from a local wedding planner and a planner associated with Vail Resorts. The owner Jessica was kind and reassuring and confident they could help us out of this crisis. They miraculously were available to do our hair and makeup for my Friday wedding and also fit us in for a trial the day before the wedding. After having such a bad prior experience, I was very nervous. But, Jess reassured us that she only uses people with 10+ years experience on wedding clientele's hair and she herself will be doing our makeup. After Ashley met me at the door of the salon upon our arriving late and hurried (as we had a lot on the agenda for the day before the wedding), I knew I was going to be in good hands. She was cool and confident and made my hair look even better than the picture I had shown her (the same exact one I had shown the previous salon). I felt a HUGE weight off my back disappear. I literally almost cried just from relief and gratitude. Ashley then did the groom's hair trial (he has longer curly hair that can sometimes be difficult to manage). I had a small concern that I couldn't quite put my finger on. She figured out what was bothering before I even could, and then she immediately fixed it. On the actual wedding day, it looked even better than it had the day before. She did my three bridesmaids' hair and our moms' hair - all of which looked amazing. I seriously cannot thank Ashley enough!!! :) Jess is a truly gifted makeup artist. She knows what foundations will look better when photographed, she listened to everything I said, and she trusted her judgment enough to know what will look great on me. And, it did! On the actual wedding day, she did individual fake eye lashes that looked so beautiful and real, I forgot I had them on the next day. My bridesmaids and our moms' makeup looked equally beautiful. It was perfect! It was beautiful and special but, we still looked like ourselves - only enhanced versions of ourselves! Jess was so calm and eager to help us, I will be forever grateful to her and Ashley both. A bonus is that both Jess and Ashley came to our hotel the morning of the wedding. I didn't think it would have be problematic for us to go to a salon, but it actually was way more relaxing and much less stressful having them come to us. It made things run so much smoother. Thank you Weemala for saving us, and thank you for helping to make our wedding wonderful! We both felt awesome, and you were a hugely significant part of that!
