I've used Comedy Guy's twice now. The first time, it was in an actual face to face class and then about 8 or so years later I took the online course and passed the exam first attempt,both times. Rating the online version. I give it 2 stars because it is does technically work but rated it poorly because it is a huge pain. The videos are all just a few minutes each which means you have to constantly check the move ahead box. Some were only 1 minute long! This is a 5 hour plus course - with those silly clicks necessary it makes it much longer and also that is just a lot of clicks! Would have been SO much easier to have each hour run straight through. This class was easy to take and I had no issues receiving my certificate. It wasn't really all that funny, but I did learn some things, which is more important I my opinion. My only complaint is that I kept getting locked out because I could not answer the personal identity questions (out of state driver). But it was easy to get in contact with them and they were able to unlock my account on the spot every time. If they could figure out a way to fix that issue, I think I would have given them 5 stars. read more

INCREDIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I cannot recommend these guys enough. I took the online course and it was fun and simple to get through. They made an necessary task of mine an enjoyable one. I needed some extra help with a few questions about my cert and how I could speed up the delivery of it. WOW, I called them on the phone several times and they were incredible on the phone. Very helpful in answering my questions and explaining my best options. Their customer service is outstanding and I recommend them highly. Paying for and taking the course were a breeze. I was able to log in and out and completed the course in just a couple of days. The content was well organized, informative, and easy to retain. The videos seemed a little dated and some of the humor fell flat, but overall, it was an easy process. The certificate, however, was another issue. This was my second online ddc and I really got a lot more out of the first, non-comedy course that I took. This one was lacking in these respects: 1. the materials were dated and poor quality. 2. the comedy material was lame and annoying. It was like being in a class with a smart-alec mouthing off stupid one-liners. They actually told a joke twice in the course. 3. some of the advice seemed fishy and might be detrimental. Some was just unrealistic, i.e. carrying replacement fluids in your vehicle, just in case. 4. There were not enough examples or practice situations to engage the student. I got a list of online comedy defensive driving courses, but procrastinated in choosing one. I was not running out of time, but I just chose one without researching them enough because I felt like I was putting it off. You're going to have to spend 6 hours at this and if the attempt at entertainment replaces quality videos and materials, you are taking an opportunity to learn some useful skills and wasting it. read more

Took the comedyguys.com defensive driving class online. I wouldn't recommend it. For starters if you are fast reader, this class will drive you insane. There is basically a counter on the screen to fulfill your state required 6 hours worth of defensive driving. But most of the time you will finish reading the page and just stare at the counter to go down, unless you want to surf the net on another tab or get up and do something else. But then if you forget anything it will periodically ask you asinine questions to make sure you are paying attention. And these questions are crap like "What color was the shirt of the instructor in the video?" The first time I watched I paid absolutely no attention to what color his shirt was. So naturally I got the question wrong, then you have to redo the entire section!!! And you are stuck with the same counter which resets itself. So you can easily double the amount of time you have to spend looking at the same crap. INFURIATING is the word that comes to mind. So instead of paying attention to the useful instructions, you are forced to dedicate cognitive resources to garbage like, "what kind of wall was the instructor standing in front of?" or "What color was the car in the video?" Ridiculous! I took the class in the last part of December. Certificate never came. After calling them up they tried to convince me that I got my address wrong. With something this important, there is virtually no chance that I didn't double check EVERYTHING before I hit the submit button. No chance. So they clearly screwed around on me. So now it is i the end of January and they promised that they would send it out "today." So now I am going to have to write a letter to the judge explaining why my stuff is late in addition to everything else I had to do. Thanks comedyguys! The jokes are stupid. I love to laugh and I can't remember ever laughing at all. In fact some of the jokes were in the so bad, it's funny category that I posted some of them on my facebook page so everyone else can see how awkwardly unfunny they were. Here are some exerpts: "Ah, mud. As a child, it was my favorite kind of pie. I still remember the day I put my mud pie into my sister's EZ Bake oven. Come to think of it, she still hasn't forgiven me for that." "Yeah, if the two things you might hit are a telephone pole or me, I hope you'd choose the telephone pole. Sure, I'm softer, but a telephone pole doesn't have a momma who loves him!" See what I mean??? At least you can do it from the comfort of your own home or at work right? Actually, given that this debacle was $39, I would highly, HIGHLY, recommend allocating some time out of your schedule (I know you're busy... I'm busy too) and just go do the cheapest thing you can find and spend a saturday doing it. Bring a smartphone to entertain yourself and you'll be fine. You'll save $15 in most cases, and a headache and you'll get your certificate immediately after the class so the incompetents can't lose it or try to blame you for not putting the right address. I will cost you less time and money because the amount of time you will spend redoing sections because you can't remember useless arcane garbage like "Was the guy in the red shirt wearing glasses?" will easily outpace the standard 6 hours you will put into a live-in-person defensive driving course. read more

I have taken defensive driving from the Comedy Guys twice now, once in person a few years ago and now their on-line course. They do a good job of delivering the course material which really will make you a safer driver and the humor is a nice diversion. While nobody looks forward to this (it's 6 full hours no matter what...), their on-line course can be taken via an iPhone or iPad, not just a computer. They are the only ones I've seen that offer this capability and it makes it so much more convenient because you can work on your course anytime and anywhere! If either the law man or the insurance man 'recommend' you take defensive driving, this is the place. read more

Wish I had read the reviews before taking this course. This course is terrible. It took over 8 hours. The technical glitches in the course abound. It was stupid and boring. There is no comedy. The jokes were moronic and sexist. This course must be designed for 4th graders. I even played the recordings thinking that the time for the section would be up when they stopped talking. Wrong!!!!! I finally pulled up a mindless game and played the audio piece and half listened. THIS WAS TRULY A GRUELING PUNISHMENT. read more

Ok. I can appreciate that these guys were trying to make this somewhat entertaining, as this is an incredibly boring class. HOwever, this shit isn't funny at all.....at all. Not trying to sound like a stick in the mudd, but most of these jokes didn't even make me smirk. I thought I had a good sense of humor, guess I don't if these jokes are supposed to be funny. Additionally the video clips they used were sooooo outdated. And the quality was horrible, I could barely make out the people talking. Seriously, there's so much stuff out there they could use to update their program but they CHOOSE to keep it outdated. I'm 44 years old and I think these were made back when I was in high school. It's like these guys had an idea back in 1990 and then that was the end of that. No work was done again on making their business shine. Sorry, wouldn't recommend this course to anyone. Comedy Guys, try giving your presentation a makeover. It would be beneficial to the vitality of your business. Good luck! I liked it so much that I actually went out and got another ticket so I could take the course again. (I hope you see the sarcasm). You could also read each page for additional detailed information. Customer service was superb. My account became locked at one point, which was my own fault. The web site states "Regular Shipping (7-10) days delivery free". They did not even mail my certificate for 8 days and then tried to tell me the regular shipping commitment is 10 business days. For expedited shipping the web site does use the term business days. Instructor was terrible. For most of the class he left us sitting. Terrible. read more

Comedy Guys Defensive Driving is an awesome, quick, and painless course to take despite the stigma behind defensive driving courses at large. Typically, defensive driving courses are long, boring, and arduous ordeals. Comedy Guys makes this often necessary task an easy one. The humor is your typical "Dad humor" with some "Dad jokes" along the way, but it keeps the course refreshing despite the often cheesy/corny jokes. The course itself is well put together, and I did not have any issues with the online system. I ended up having to take the course twice due to two separate tickets; I turned to Comedy Guys both times. The only issue I had was that you absolutely were forced to pay for shipping for your certificate, even if you lived 10 minutes down the road from where their offices were going to be printing it either way. The only time you can pick up your certificate is if you already paid for shipping, yet somehow didn't get it in the mail (which is what happened the first time around, and when I called to see if I could pick up my second certificate the second time around, they denied me). Either way, I understand their system, I just wish you could pick it up in person regardless of shipping. Overall, it's a minor flaw in what was an otherwise enjoyable experience. I recommend Comedy Guys to anyone who wishes to take a defensive driving course! read more
