DO NOT ENROLL in Harmony Driving School. I enrolled my son in Drivers ED with Harmony Driving School at Lovejoy high school where my kid took the class and took the paper test to get his permit. I paid for him to get driving lessons as well. Once he got his permit and I called to schedule driving lessons, it took a week for anyone to get back to me. And then another 3 weeks for an actual driving lesson time. Because of the length of time it took to get a driving lesson scheduled, I started my son at a different driving school. When I requested the certificate of transfer that is necessary to change driving schools, the contact at Harmony was very rude and told me he would meet me at the school on a specific date and time with the certificate. I called him three times that day, once before I drove to school, once I was there, and once before I left. I waited 30mins in the parking lot before leaving. I have received no phone call. I have heard that other families have had problems as well with this driving school....such as getting the run around when asking for the certificate/money back when services were not provided, and not being available when calling. Will change my review if he gets back to me and provides me with the documentation that I need to get my son to take his drivers test at another driving school and money for services not received. read more

The convenience of a local driving school was not worth the trouble and stress involved. Michael does not return calls. He lied to me before I paid and told me that my son would receive driving time right after class time was completed. I found out after I register my son that was not true!! He is very unprofessional and doesn't know how to talk to people. He will always ask you to give his school a referral. I WOULD NEVER REFERRAL THIS DRIVING SCHOOL TO ANYBODY!! It took several months to complete my child's drive times. He never answers his phone and can be aggressive when customers point out these glaring problems. He changed class end time and never let you know in advance. He would tell you the night of class that they will be getting out of class early today, and changed the start time of driver class.. I've spoken to several other parents who say the exact same things. read more

My daughter completed the driving school program through Harmony Driving School with Michael and Susan. I would recommend them if you want personal one-on-one communication from the actual people teaching your child; if you want someone who will work around your child's busy schedule, and if you want the convenience of being at LHS. He's an old-school type of guy, which at first had me hesitant, but once we started the program, It was nothing but great! My daughter completed all her hours, etc. to be ready to go to DPS by the time she turned 16, which I know Michael prides himself on making sure this happens for all his students. The best part of the driving school is my daughter learned so much and I felt comfortable as a parent putting her behind the wheel with confidence! I plan on using them for my youngest daughter as well. read more

Our daughter successfully obtained her license this week with the help of Michael and Susan with Harmony driving school. We used Harmony for the 7/7 in car training as well as the driving test. They were flexible and very easy to work with. Will be using for #2 and #3. read more

Our third child just completed her course through Harmony Driving School. We had a great experience with each of our children here. Very convenient for us with all classes being at our kid's high school. Michael worked with their schedules to get them through the course and drive times when they could do them. Especially during the past year of COVID, where the new challenges and restrictions have put a real strain on the school's scheduling and resources, Michael worked out a schedule and plan to get our child through it all in time for her big day with DPS! I wish I could give him ZERO stars. This experience was HORRIBLE! My son (youngest of five children, so this was my 5th time doing drivers ed through a private driving school... first time-and LAST-with Harmony Driving School), enrolled July 2020 and did the every-Saturday summer class option. That part seemed fine. The real issues began with drive times! We learned that the process is that you have to call every week and HOPE there is a drive time available (Mike is basically a one-man show). My son was very much a beginner and so he showed up with a lot of anxiety about driving and not a lot of experience. After the first drive-time, my son-who NEVER cries-got out of the Harmony car bawling! Apparently, Mike had belittled him and yelled at him because he couldn't master the hand-over-hand turning technique (insert sarcastic voice: "that's a great way to motivate a new, young, raw, anxious driver while you have then ALONE in a car"!!!!!). I called Mike later to get his side of the story and all he had to say was "well, he wasn't ready", not "so sorry", not anything that indicated he wanted to keep our business (why would he? He already had our money for the entire course + drive times + testing). I Kindly, but firmly, reminded him that he is the TEACHER!! I asked hime to make a note on my son's folder to remind him that he is a beginner and is anxious about driving and to please be kind. He responded with an aggressive "Oh. I already did." I said, "You know, while you're at it, go ahead and mark that same 'be kind' on every kids' chart." I shouldn't have to say that! Apparently, Mike expects to not actually have to TEACH the driving. He expects the kids to already KNOW how to drive! AND he also expects us, the parents, to know that! SO, fast forward AN ENTIRE YEAR-August 2021 and my son and I are still trying to schedule more drive times (after a lot of pep-talks with my son about "everyone has a bad day. Maybe Mike was just having a bad day..." because my son did NOT want to get back in that car with Mike). At this point, Mike can't/won't tell us how many drive times are required and won't schedule them out even though we have been in the program for AN ENTIRE YEAR (after he promised us he would). Meanwhile, scheduling with any DPS in Texas takes at least a 6-month advance scheduling. I had one more VERY HEATED phone call, in which Mike yelled (in a very high-pitched voice) at me for 20 minutes. On this phone call, I: 1.called him on a few promises he had made to me and had not followed through, 2. asked him to be forth-right about how many more drive times my son needed, 3. asked to schedule them out (this isn't his normal method, which is so inefficient, but I was asking him to push my son through since we started OVER A YEAR AGO at this point and he had promised me he could do that), and 4. asked him to stop screaming at me, and also, stop intimidating children!!!! Side note, when my husband confronted him about screaming at me he responded with, "well, she was treating me like a child." STAY AWAY FROM THIS DRIVING SCHOOL!!!! Also, I would like to point out that an adult (male or female) instructor should NEVER BE ALONE in the car with an under-aged minor! EVER! read more

Parents beware. Michael does not answer or return phone calls. He ignored student drivers who call and would not return my phone calls as a parents until you have to make threats for a refund. He did not show for several scheduled appointments and did not even give a courtesy phone call. If you are thinking about using him for convenience I promise it will be inconvenient! I was initially excited to try out this this school so that our son could get the extra prep he needed for his drivers test. When I spoke to Mike in June he said it would be no problem to get the drive time in before our son started band camp in July. I paid my $210.00 for 14 hours of instruction, my check was cashed immediately after his first lesson on June 20th. Then I called to set up his next lesson and I was told that he was too busy and everyone was in a crunch to get their drive time in, when I asked for a refund and said I would go elsewhere, then all of a sudden I was able to get another hour of drive time. We had to call multiple times to get a 3rd and 4th lesson. So in the end we got a total of 4 lessons for the cost of $210.00. I asked Mike why I wasn't getting the full 14 hours and he told me that we only needed 7 hours. That did not set well with me, I feel that we were ripped off, we did not even get the 7 hours that he said that we needed. I would be extremely careful before using this school. They do not deliver as promised. read more

I took Drivers Ed with Harmony through Lovejoy High School. Compared to the local driving school, Harmony was a lot less expensive. It was very convenient because the classes were immediately after school on the campus. The class was good, and I learned what was necessary without much difficulty. MC administers the permit test and eye exam, so there's no need to go all the way to the DPS to take the test. All I had to do was go to the DPS with my drivers ed certificate and my necessary paperwork to get my permit. Regarding the drive times, MC does take a while to answer your calls as his main mode of communication is through the phone. However, scheduling the drive times are easy. You call and leave a message, he calls back and helps you schedule the drive time. At the drive times, either Susan or MC will be the instructor. I had Susan for all of my drive times, and she is phenomenal! She's very concise, experienced, and she teaches each student according to their needs. She doesn't cut any corners and is very accurate. My driving test was also administered by Susan, and she taught me everything I needed to know to pass the test with a good score. They give you all the documents you need to apply for your license except your VOE and 30 hour driving log. This makes the process of applying for the provisional license SO much easier. I had a very pleasant experience with Harmony, and would definitely recommend it to anyone. Susan and MC are both great teachers, and MC made the class fun and engaging. Harmony is truly a great place to learn to drive! read more
