What a great show!! We loved the openers. And the headliner Todd Rex was hilarious!! The cocktails were delicious and others at our table were very happy with their meals. The only downfall was the extremely slow service. We ordered 4 cocktails and a chicken quesadilla before the show started but did not receive any of it until just before the headliner came on (he was the fifth act). I recently noticed that there's a two for one deal on Living Social. I can't wait to take advantage of this deal to go back again and again!! read more

I was excited to find out about Comedy Hideaway being in Santa Barbara/Goleta from Groupon. It is hidden within the east end of what is now called Flightliner Restaurant & Lounge, but was formerly High Sierra Grill, and formerly-formerly The Elephant before that. No joke! The price is a steal at $15 a person (with a $2.55 online "courtesy fee"). With my Groupon I stole two for one pricing. I almost felt guilty for the low price. What they don't mention is the 2 alcoholic drink minimum when you arrive at the door. OK, OK, you don't have to guilt me into drinking. After all, it IS a comedy show and you want to laugh plenty--or at least be on the same entertainment level as the rest of the audience. The comedians themselves unknowingly sat us, which was fine. However, it was a sold out show and we were squeezed into a room at tables and high tops with uncomfortable chairs like sardines. Most of us and our fellow neighboring comedian fans were standing by the end of the show from our butts or backs hurting (and no, none of us were over 45 years of age!). The waitresses had a difficult time managing to serve through the labyrinth of people. When they did manage to take your order, it was at least a thirty minute wait for the food or drinks to arrive--all which is extremely mediocre to say the least. If you do eat at the restaurant before or after the comedy show, you do received 15% off your meal which is a neat deal. The show was at 7 pm, while they also had a 9:30 pm show to follow. Both are offered every Saturday night weekly and bring in from LA comedy stars seen on Comedy Central, The Tonight Show, HBO, FOX and other comedy-anointed places. There were three opening comedians before the headliner Bil Dwyer. Bil was extremely funny, especially growing up in the City if Comedy, Chicago, IL. All in all, some work could be done to improve the venue, while the comedy show was done just right. read more

I came to Comedy Highway to see Steven Hofstetter a few weeks ago. The experience overall was enjoyable. However, the room was very dark once the curtains to the outside were closed, and it became claustrophobic with how tightly the room was packed. There is a 2-drink minimum which wasn't too bad. I believe I spent around $15 on a Cosmo and an Appletini. I passed on dinner, but the diverse menu looked really good from afar. I'd definitely consider returning for another show if a presenting comedian caught my eye. I will probably opt for a seat closer to a door rather than right at the edge of the stage/platform just for sake of comfort. read more

Stand-up comedy shows are simple to produce, but so many places get it wrong. Comedy Hideaway knows how to do it well. At other comedy nights you will likely be subjected to: A) lousy comedians B) the bar's televisions blaring "crucial" coverage of bowling C) the jukebox playing Justin Bieber's Greatest Hit D) disinterested customers shouting like they're trying to have a conversation with Beethoven at a shooting range E) all of the above Having been to Comedy Hideaway's shows three different times, I can say they know how to present the best stand-up comics in the best venues. Rooms that crackle with energy, laughter bouncing off the walls, great comics you've seen on TV. Do yourself a favor, forgo the long drive down into Hollywood and get to any of their shows. read more

This place was great! Located at the back of Petrini's on Thursday nights, the line-up was excellent. A few locals or UCSB alums mixed with up-and-coming comedy talent featured on HBO specials and Comedy Central. The night I went there were four comics and an MC, and all were very entertaining. Be aware that the show is definitely not PG in any respect, so it's not a great event for kids or to go with your conservative elderly family members. If you use your Axxess card, you get the tickets for free. Additionally, there are a bunch of discount coupons floating around on the internet, so be sure to look for them! Buying tickets on the website is easy, and there's no service or other hidden fees. read more

I came here last night for the first time and had a blast. The price is right and the Yelp deal encouraged me to make that first visit. First of all, the host (the Puerto Rican dude) is HILARIOUS! He has a really good attitude and did a lot of improv with the audience. I might sit up front next time!! Props to this guy, he really warmed up the crowd for the other comedians. I was a big fan of his different voices. He even made a John Coffee reference from the Green Mile. LOL! I don't know the names of the guys that were presenting, but the headliner was hilarious and super talented. He even played some awesome guitar music for us during his comedy act. My favorite comedian was the guy who talked about the Pandora music station.. I have not laughed so hard in ages! Overall a great presentation and a wonderful effort on the part of the comedians. Poor. Poor. Poor. They started over 20 minutes late. The place jammed with people in the most uncomfortable seating arrangement. If you go solo, they put you in a corner. They jam way too many people into a closet sized room and you get to sit on a hard stool. Not to mention they start late so everything is rushed. The best comedy club in Santa Barbara. Okay the only club. But still a great club to come watch a show. Don Friesen was the headliner the day we went and I have seen him several times before at various clubs but never gets old. Super talented and super funny and super impressive since Don is. Totally clean comedian. He has actually won the San Francisco comedy festival twice -the only person to ever have done that with two different hours of material. No I don't work for Don but he always impresses me. The acts from start to finish were terrific. And the food is great which says something bc a lot of comedy clubs just do crappy bar food: i had ahi and oysters which I was hesitating about but had no reason to. The food was greatl. The comedy was great.the staff was great. Run don't walk here. read more

I had really low expectations for this when I bought the Groupon and decided on a whim to go with a couple friends last night. Let me tell you, I have not laughed this hard in a long time!! It was absolutely amazing and my cheeks are still hurting this morning from all the belly laughs! At one point the four of us were crying with laugher as the host just ripped through the crowd bagging on all the guests... it was absolutely hilarious! We immediately bought another groupon and have encouraged all of our friends to get them as well so we can get a big group together and go again. I would highly recommend this!! Victoria and I bought a groupon for this place. We had a difficult time locating it because we didn't know it was inside an Italian restaurant. After finally locating it we went inside. We sat down and had a beer. Part of the deal included an appetizer. The menu for these items was quite small. After being stuffed in a small room the show finally started. All of the acts were really good. We especially liked the host. During the show we had a pizza. It was good except needed more sauce. I would recommend checking this show out. read more

I've been to a couple Comedy Hideaway shows. They were both a good time. The headliner usually ends up being pretty funny but some of the opening comedians need a little more practice. I wouldn't really complain though for the prices of the shows. It isn't Kevin Hart, but it's not a bad event to come to to have a casual time and laugh with friends. read more

My boyfriend and I attend last nights show and we were both very impressed! The staff was extremely nice and patient. The show was fabulous, we laughed for nearly two hours straight. I recommend bringing your own bottle of wine, they only charge a ten dollar corking fee. read more

I came out to see a show a few weeks ago because a friend of mine, Cat Alvarado, was performing. Everyone on the show was so funny! I had a great time. To eat I had the ahi tuna salad. Two thumbs up!
