I highly recommend Amber at the US Bank at 110 Morrissey Boulevard in Santa Cruz. They also have a…read moreCapitola Branch. Amber is exceptionally helpful and friendly. I recently opened up both a Checking and a Savings Account when I learned that they give 3.5% interest on their Savings Accounts. That is hard to beat nowadays! They also provided me with a one-year interest free credit card. Amber is very knowledgeable about providing the best plan for my financial needs. It will be worth your time to look into banking with US Bank, if you don't already.

I hope my concerns are being heard now. Original Review I came into the bank today seeking solutions for both my personal and business banking needs. When I asked a question, instead of receiving a helpful answer, a manager interjected into the conversation with the employee and responded with, "Wasn't this explained to you when you opened the account?" This was unhelpful and dismissive. As a customer, I expected guidance and solutions, not to be made to feel at fault for needing clarification. The experience left me frustrated and disappointed in the level of professionalism To make matters worse, when I called to voice my concerns about this experience, customer service simply advised that a business checking account was the solution I was looking for. When I went back with my safety deposit key, I explained again that business checking was indeed the solution--but I was dismissed once more when asked, "Do you have a business?" (I have two.). What do you think I'm lying! I wasn't heard, my concerns weren't addressed, and it felt like they didn't care at all.

Pretty unhappy with SCCB. I own a small business and reached out via the online form to get…read moreinformation about starting a new relationship. After a few days of no response, I submitted it again and received a response with a list of items required and also a list of "fees". I was also referred to someone else to discuss ACH transactions. I spoke with two different reps via email but the communication was confusing and combined with the extensive list of fees, I wanted to make sure I understood. I asked to clarify but never heard back. In a phone conversation with one of the reps, I was told not to worry about all the fees because they rarely charged them. What? During this process, I wanted to get an answer about PPP processing and put in an urgent call to the first rep. She called back several hours later but left a message and did not follow up. We lost out on that possible opportunity. I don't blame SCCB entirely but I realized that urgent requests for help were not taken very seriously. I finally got all the paperwork requirements sent over and was told to come to the Aptos branch to complete the process. However, I wanted to build a relationship with the Scotts Valley branch which is the one I'd be using. So, I was then transferred to someone at Scotts Valley. I again asked about the fees and was told, yes, I was reading the fee schedule correctly and they charge for deposits, payments, analysis, ACH out and in, cash withdrawals, etc. The rep had to cancel the in person appt and said the manager would meet with us instead. She was nice but seemed removed from the process and that I should talk to the rep with any questions. When I later asked on the phone why so many fees, the response was "well, we are a for-profit bank". It was a complete waste of time from start to finish. The customer service is lacking and then they nickel and dime you to death with fees. No thanks. I'm giving two stars as it wasn't horrible but we will not be going with SCCB.

I was referred by someone in our family to Santa Cruz county bank to a specific person in the Scotts Valley branch While acting like they were helping my parents in a time of need they had me sign lengthy documents that did not mention hidden fees monthly fees, annual fees and even a fee to close out the loan after it was paid off The interest rate was double what I later got from another bank They took over $300 in monthly services fees from a bank account they made me open to "get a good rate on the loan" that turned out to be higher than any institution They also had a $75 fee to keep the loan open and then $260 to close the loan, none of which was spelled out in the loan documents So the highest rate, monthly fees, annual fees and then a close the loan fee Do yourself a favor, go to a bank You will get better loan rates, no hidden fees and better customer service
