I stayed at this hotel with two friends to kick off a week-long trip to Norway. In our search, we were trying to find reasonable accomodations, where a triple room was available. Given that can be a bit of a challenge, this hotel did a wonderful job in fulfilling our criteria.
The hotel is located a stone's throw from Oslo's central train station, so a pretty easy walk with luggage. Upon entering through the sliding glass doors in the front door, I felt like I was transported to the set of the Jetsons! It is a very modern, dare I say, futuristic lobby. There a few computers set up to allow self check-in, though we were notified the system was not functioning. The hotel staff held our bags until the room was available, and we were off on our merry way for our first adventures in Oslo.
We had a triple room. The set up was two single beds next to each other and one bed in a loft. We found the room to be a bit warm at night, particularly for the soul in the loft. The hotel controlled the temperature and we were advised to open the window. On weekend nights, there is a fair amount of street noise until relatively early hours. The beds were comfortable, with a nice fluffy duvet. It was a little light on counter space in the room and the bathroom, but we made it work. The hotel wi-fi worked quite well, though you needed to get a code each day from the front desk in order to access. Down in the lobby, there were a few Macs for checking email, etc.
The breakfast had a lot of different options, but it was a typical business hotel type fare. There was a tour group staying at the same time, which meant there was a bit of a herd during peak breakfast hours. The breakfast area was quite spacious, so we were able to find space without a problem. There was also a water-filling area, which meant we were saved from buying bottles of water.
Not the best hotel ever, but a great deal in a great location in an expensive city. read more
