BEWARE!!!!! This hotel rents rooms in which it is impossible to sleep due to noise from rowdy crowds at the pub across the street!!!!! If you decide to stay here, be sure that you get a quiet room that faces the "courtyard". Otherwise, you won't be able to sleep. People stand in the street, laugh, and speak loudly until the pub closes at 3:30 am. Cars also honk at them. The noise echoes up to even the 6th floor room that we stayed in, and closing the windows doesn't solve the problem, plus the room gets too hot. Some rooms also have no shower door, so the bathroom floor gets soaked. We had numerous other problems with our room: the door wouldn't open, there was a known problem with the electricity that caused it to go out during the night, the ironing board wasn't securely fastened and so was unsafe to use. The toilet paper holder wasn't securely mounted so the toilet paper fell on the ground. The elevator was difficult. They gave us a 20% discount and moved us to a better room the second night due to the problems, but it ruined my stay. Since I couldn't go to sleep until after 3:30 am on Friday night, I had to sleep late, spend too much time arguing with them, pack up to move, and we missed the entire morning sight-seeing. After spending so much time and money to go to Oslo, and only having 1 day there, this was a huge disappointment, and a 20% discount does not adequately compensate me for my loss. read more
