After my 91 year old father was hospitalized due to Covid, he was transferred to Bey Lea. Part of this decision to move to Bey Lea was because they had an isolation room where other skilled nursing facility did not at the time. After a few days of observing the care he was receiving at Bey Lea, I knew I had to move him to another facility. While in isolation staff hardly checked on him on a regular based. When staff did enter his room; they did not mask up and did not follow CDC droplet protocols. The initial lobby area of the facility was updated, but the patient rooms were dirty, dingy, old and not well kept. My father's bathroom had dried feces on the toilet seat. He was not given a shower after being told three times he would be put on schedule. While in isolation staff, his meal trays were just left with him while not providing any assistance with eating. To be fair there were some staff in nursing , aides and rehab who did exhibit concern and care for patients. However, most staff exhibited poor patient care skills. After a week I finally found another facility to move him into. In summary, Complete Care at Bey Lea does not meet the patient care standards that should be met. Avoid this facility at all costs!

The staff is top notch, and they remember their resident's names, heath concerns, preferences, etc. I was very impressed and feel so much more comfortable with them there while I'm 3,000 mi away. My mom broke her arm about 2 weeks after move-in and they were there immediately to get her to the hospital. The 3rd party care team they use/refer for additional needs can be hit or miss, but is priced well. There are plenty of events here to keep the residents happy and occupied. Dementia/Alzheimer's friendly ;) BBQ's, live music, holiday events, bus trips, Thoughtful food/menus, wine and cheese, arts & crafts. Comradery within the residents and staff. It kind of reminds me of a cruise ship! The peace of mind I have now that they are here is such a relief. When it came time for the paperwork there was another text exchange asking about the 2 year guarantee because my parents would fall short of it. She text me "Just be transparent on the financial form, that way we can plan for when they start to apply" That Friday the director started getting involved asking questions. Only to wind up denying them despite what I was told. Director Melissa Hingher told me she was going to talk to someone else at corporate and get back to me. 1 week later hadn't heard from anyone. I escalated it to their corporate office when Kenneth Segarnick emailed me back saying he received my email that was sent to the CEO Brenda Bacon. We scheduled a phone call and he backed them 100% didn't care what was in writing. Stated he wasn't a party to the conversation, but I have it in writing. Bottom line be careful with this place, they will tell you what you want to hear but won't back it up, they are liars simply put. Makes me wonder if they do this with admissions, what would they do when it came to care.

Maria Carnevale, Director of Admissions, was especially wonderful and went out of her way to work with us no matter what obstacles came up. She treated us like family and made the place truly feel like home. Many of the staff have been there for 10, 15, 20 years or more and that speaks volumes.
