The emergency after-hours number listed for this company doesn't work. We came home to a house that was full of natural gas and had to call Xcel to rush over to turn everything off. We called Comfort Air first, three times and left messages on their emergency number. We finally heard back 6 hours later and the installer said that he couldn't do anything about the leaks because he didn't have the parts to fix it. Xcel found two leaks that were created from the day before when our new $4,000 furnace was installed. The technician from Xcel showed us where he could put his hand down and feel the gas rushing out. The other leak wasn't as significant, but was still needing to be repaired. Luckily our pets weren't dead from being exposed to natural gas for two days and our house didn't blow up. We could lost everything including our lives. Very disappointed that the furnace wasn't inspected for any leaks after they installed it. They didn't do a soap and water test, otherwise they would've found the leaks immediately. The NEXT day we get a call and someone said "I hear you think you have a leak?" Actually, we DID have a leak and Xcel had to come out and shut it all off and label our house as a hazard zone. The way they communicated was not welcome after we could have lost everything. Extremely upsetting and disappointing. They sent two guys out to fix it the next day and they apologized. I am disappointed that their emergency number, which should be for emergencies like this, didn't get through to anyone for several hours and when it did... they said they probably didn't have what they'd need to fix the problem till the next day. We're grateful that our furnace is installed and working, but very disappointed in the company because of the oversight that could have been carltastrophic to our lives and home. read more

BEWARE This company is an absolute joke! Their work, if you can call it that, is full of amateur mistakes ex: incorrect installation, the wiring was faulty (like idiot faulty) and they didn't even turn on the unit before they left to see if it worked! I mean come on, who doesn't turn it on to test it. Someone who just doesn't give a sh$@! WORST of all is their customer service, which I promise you will leave you frustrated and in a "uncomfortable zone" which is in this case a 95 degree home. They literally blocked my number so they didn't have to come up with more excuses. What kind of company treats costumers like that? One that won't be around for long! read more

Comfort Air was wonderful when my system died. I had three other companies come out and give me a quote and Comfort Air was hands-down the best equipment at the best price. When they came out to install the equipment, everyone was professional and courteous. They were very careful coming and going into my house and were able to complete the work earlier than agreed on. They have been wonderful to work with and now I have them do my annual maintenance every season. read more

If I could give this company a negative star review, I would. They are deserving of NO STARS. Had a leak in our refrigerated air condenser unit (which Comfort Air had installed only 3 years prior. Several of our neighbors have also had problems with their A/C units, which were also installed by Comfort Air--that should be the FIRST sign of shotty work by this company). They dispatched a technician to our house who DIDN'T EVEN INSPECT THE UNIT, but just said that there was a leak and proceeded to put leak stop and additional freon in to the unit. Low and behold, this was not the correct solution to the problem and they ended up turning a small leak into a large hole that RUINED our whole unit and which ended up needing replaced. When we called to ask the original technician to come out he told us that he doesn't work past 4pm and that we could call after hours but would be charged time and a half. Comfort Air eventually agreed to do the warranty replacement. I say "agreed" because that's about as good as it was going to get with these people. There was no remorse on behalf of these people for doing unprofessional work. We were told to "get some fans and try to bear through it"; temperatures in our house reached over 95 degrees. I explained to the owner AND service manager that I had a small child in the house that they seemed to not care about the EXTREMELY uncomfortable atmosphere of our home which, again, was THEIR FAULT. We were repeatedly told by the service manager that he would be in contact with us about the status of our replacement and let us know when they would schedule the repair; we never heard back from them. We repeatedly had to call them to get any information. Finally, the service manager told us that they would schedule the repair for 8am in the morning. My husband took the morning off work to wait around to be there for the repair. 8:50am rolled around and NO ONE showed up to install the unit. When I called to see where they were and why no one decided that a courtesy call was appropriate to let us know that they were going to be late, the owner proceeded to tell us that we could find another company to perform warranty work on the unit that THEY RUINED, and were then going to cancel their service call altogether and not stand behind their work; we paid $230.00 to this company for them to ruin our air conditioning and to not stand behind their unprofessional quality work. This weekend, temperatures here in the Grand Valley will reach over 100+ degrees. When I AGAIN explained to the OWNER that we have a small child in the house and that it will be SCORCHING in our house and I'm concerned about her comfort, he said "tough". DO NOT expect this company to do what's right. DO NOT expect this company to do professional quality work. What you can expect from them is that they will feel ENTITLED as a service company, even though you as a customer are PAYING them inflated fees to do terrible work, and treat you like your time, comfort and PAYING needs DON'T MATTER. There are LOTS of other locally owned HVAC companies that I have since found that will perform warranty work and HAVE HAD to fix Comfort Air's mistakes before in the past (so they'll know EXACTLY what you've been going through when you call), but who also treat you with kindness, empathy and ACTUALLY CARE about the quality and reputation of their work. I agreed to hire this company but the employee pulled a bait and switch from quoted $25 an hour for "additional" handyman services on a 2 hour job and then demanded $200. Employee renigged after I told him that I could not pay for it all at once. Said he would take a condensation drainage hose off his boss for a minor 10 minute plumbing issue at no expense to me and would have his "buddie" steal the expensive baseboard trim that I needed to complete my bedroom from a lumber yard to save me money. That was trying to get me to receive stolen merchandise or to aid and abet stealing from others, in my feeling, perception, and opinion. Said he liked to drink a few beers on the job. I took the implication to mean that he expected me to provide him with alcohol and felt threatened that he must be expecting some kind of party as part of the deal. I reported it to the owner via their website and they did not make good on a fair price and send someone else out or even contact me about the complaint. That makes me wonder if this man represented the company or was acting on his own. Yet, he answered the phone for Comfort Zone and they have not disputed his behavior. I feel really violated that I let this man into my house. I do not recommend this company whatsoever. This was my personal experience with this company. read more
