I've only been in here once (when I was checking out the awesome expo of local boutiques in this building), but will be back again. The comic book landscape is one which hasn't completely been taken over by Corporations so you can still get little family businesses like this one around the 585 and other regions, which is pretty delightful if you ask me. read more

I like this store. I had a sub service here for a while and the folks were responsive and friendly. I ended it because I wasn't keeping up with reading my books and they were great about that, too. They have lots and lots and lots and lots of comics, old and new. This is great, but the shelves are a little over- stuffed and some times the books are a little bent. They are also great for free comic book day. This is a great store to go into without being too sure what you're looking for because it's filled with stuff. read more

Good size shop with a wonderful selection and some friendly staff and a typically socially awkward human who said nothing to me!! It takes all types in shops like these. My main notice is that what I was there for was very fairly priced.!.! They even had some items that are harder to find at this moment. I look forward to visiting again read more

In the late 80's, I came to comics as a late teenager. At the time, there was no greater home for my obsession than Comics Etc. I've moved hundreds of miles away since then, and I was happy to stumble across the posting online. It's sad that the shop was forced to move from Village Gate, but that place didn't have the magic it used to have back then anyway. I distinctly remember wandering over to the Yankee Peddler bookshop, staring at the used books I couldn't afford, and then wandering over to Comics Etc in order to buy my weekly stash. I never was a true regular--sometimes I'd come in Wednesday, sometimes Friday--but I remember I'd rarely be able to wait until I got home to read the comics, instead poring through the most recent cliffhangers in the parking lot. What collection I have is primarily due to Comics Etc. It makes me happy to know you guys are still around making others happy as well. read more

Friendly staff and found a bunch of recent back issues that were hard to find where I'm from, for a great price. New books as well on Wednesday and plenty of back issues worthy of digging through. I was bummed when I learned that Comics Etc had moved from Village Gate. It's sad when anything moves from Village Gate. But man, the new location is pretty awesome. Tough to find. It's in one of the buildings in a lot. I think they had moved pretty recently when I visited, because there wasn't a clear sign or anything out yet. But wow, once you're in, you have to acknowledge the superiority of this locale. There is a LOT more breathing room and things are organized way better. I'm assuming the new move was the reason a lot of new issues were not shelved, per se, but stacked neatly on tables. Hopefully that got cleaned up. Selection was great. Owner was very friendly, although he did the classic small-comic-shop-owner thing of pushing the more expensive versions of things on us. But I'm developing a thick skin against that. There were also toys, books, RPGs, etc available. Overall, this was a great visit and a def improvement for Comics Etc! read more

This is a great store. I've buying my comic books from Comics Etc. for about 8 years now, and I have regularly bought my nephew fun, kid-friendly comics to help him improve his reading skills. The owner and staff are wonderful. Every time I walk into the store the owner (Andy) always greets me by name. They take pride in their business and their customers. They are located in the Hungerford Building on E. Main Street along with a lot of great local, small businesses. Comics Etc. has everything from comic books and action figures to card games and hundreds of dice for any kind of game you could want to play. Their comics book collection ranges from current titles from just about every publisher to comics that are decades old, including some old Star Wars comics from the time when Marvel originally had the property license. If you're looking for a place to buy your comic books, or a great way to get your kids or young relatives to read more and enjoy reading, then I strongly suggest you stop into Comics Etc. and let their friendly staff guide you to the appropriate series. read more

I love this shop! The staff is always helpful, quick and super friendly. If they don't have what you're looking for, they help you find it. Navigating the Marvel Universe isn't easy and they are topnotch at keeping up and helping you -without making one feel like a failing Marvel fan. Much better than shopping online. read more

Stopped in here while road tripping back from Niagara Falls. The outside of the store is a little industrial and it's one of those places that if you weren't looking for it you wouldn't stumble across it. The store itself was pretty vast and they were more than 90% focused on comics. A really good back issue collection priced at cover price still sitting out on the shelves and a very nice selection of bagged and boarder back issues as well. A great place to check in for those passing through town looking to fill in holes in your collection. Knowledgeable staff and friendly folks too. read more

These guys are very knowledgeable and have been around the Rochester area forever. Great place to find back issues on newer stuff to fill in gaps. They will also do a pull bag and offer you a discount the more items that you get put into your bag. The location is good, even if it's a bit off the beaten path. read more

Thank God this comic store exists. I am so glad it moved from the Village Gate! I get all my comics from here, and much of my gaming products.
