Amanda is my husband's occupational therapist & is right up there with Phyllis. We've been going there for quite a few months now -almost a year - and they truly treat us as friends, not just patients. The ladies up front are always helpful & friendly. Competent, diligent, reliable, thoughtful, caring--I could go on and on. Everyone is so respectful, and unlike other experiences I've had (with other practitioners over the past eight years dealing with this knee injury), I never feel as if I'm rushed or spoken down to. Phyllis and Erin answer my numerous questions with patience and thoroughness. I didn't know what to expect when I initially chose the Therapy Spot, but I truly feel as if I've lucked out with this team. I'll recommend them til I'm blue in the face. I would specifically like to mention Christelle and Roxy. The supervising nurses Diane and Jess are exemplary in their field! The doctors provided top notch medical care. I recieve all my medications as required and the PT department is one of the best I've ever experienced. The entire time I've been here, Guest Relations has stayed on top of everything. Repeatedly stopping in to make sure I am comfortable and getting everything i need. Of course, in any organization there may be one or two disgruntled workers, and in my time here only once I had an aid who was not up to par. So dont give up, at one moments bad taste because this facility has provided me with a 99.9% absolutely everything i needed to get me back on my feet, and get me walking out the door to go home. A special call out to the CNA,s. Their caring ,compassion, and respect for the clients dignity is more than anyone could ask for. ​

The place is dirty, some staff members are certainly not willing to help and it smells like feces in there. My mom was here for awhile. I brought a cordless phone for her when she entered, but it never got…read morehooked up, and it seemed that no one who worked here cared if it was hooked up or not. Each time I called, I had to go through a whole routine, to try to get someone to bring a phone to her. When I took her out, I was handed an envelope with a lab report done by one of the doctors, that must have seen residents at this facility. I looked at it, and saw some of the blood counts were very abnormal, and I was never informed of this. On the lab print out, it seemed that the laboratory tried to call the ordering "doctor" multiple times, without success. So it seems that not only wasn't I told of the abnormal blood counts, they weren't even followed up on. Shortly after taking her out, I had her taken to the ER, and they admitted her, because of these very abnormal labs. I had no luck trying to contact the ordering physician, but he made sure to send a bill. So not only was this "dude" "doc" not accessible to try to call or inform me of the abnormal labs, but they were actually was so bad, that my mom qualified for hospice, after being admitted to the hospital. Not once, did anyone at Birchwood Suites, say anything about "hospice". In less than 6 months, my mom died, thankfully on home hospice, and not at this assisted living facility.............right, with an "enhanced license". I'm glad that I took her out when I did. I didn't think that she got a good level of care here at all, and wouldn't recommend anyone entrusting their loved one to a place like this.

We moved my dad into the Bristal during Covid as he needed more care than we could provide at home…read more We quickly realized that he needed to move from the general population into the memory care unit. This was the best decision we could have made. The care my dad received was top notch. The staff was warm and caring and made us feel that he was loved, comfortable and safe. During a difficult time it took a lot of the worries off of our minds. Whenever we, the family and friends visited, we felt welcome and the staff knew who we were. There were always activities going on keeping my dad as active as he could be. Even at the end, when my dad was put on hospice care, he was treated with love and respect. His care was coordinated by the head of the unit Simmone and the head of Wellness Victoria. We cannot express how wonderful the two of them were throughout our whole journey. They made such a big difference and we are forever grateful. We highly recommend the Bristal at East Northport.

The timing seems fishy and all but confirms my suspicions. Run from this facility if you love your loved ones and want the best care.

Catherine's hospital because she was verbally abusive (due to her dementia) and they said they weren't equipped to handle these outbursts. I did not realize that a facility could indiscriminately evict a person from their home. All her belongings are still there. My mother has dementia. She cannot live alone. That's is why we decided to have her live at the arbor's. Worst decision we made as a family. There is little to no communication with the staff in order to get updates on her care. They only call you when there is an issue. If your family member has "too many issues" they don't want them living there any longer. I thought as an assisted living facility the staff would be of assistance but much to my chagrin they were not. They were rude when you called, did not relay messages and when asked for a care plan meeting it took weeks to get one scheduled. Please, please do your research. They obviously only want "well-behaved" residents. So now we have to scram to find a new place.

My dr.'s insurance person even called to speak with her and she told me you're better off going somewhere else instead of dealing with the insurance person there. Which was a lot more paperwork for the dr.'s office. I will not go back there. It's a shame that one person ruined the work of so many others.
