He let us use the restaurant dining room tables to do some work while the restaurant was closed. He even hand delivered some towels to our room. Marcus gave us gym, pool and wifi passes, and then even comp'd a drink from the mini-bar when we left! All the staff were very friendly, even the housekeeping staff will smile and say hello when you walk past. The rooms have been re-furbed and are modern and comfortable. The windows are double glazed so there isn't much street noise even in the rooms facing the main street. The breakfast was just average; on the plus side the juice and milk was nice and cold, but on the downside the eggs were a little undercooked (white was still runny).

As such it was actually within walking distance from where the train dumped me. While there was nothing all that fancy about the place, check in was pretty quick, the rooms were comfortable, and there was some good places for food within walking distance. The wi-fi wasn't bad at all either. I liked the place.

It was a nice, and the staff were rather friendly as well, that is as long as you don't go into the sports bar next door. There is a pretty decent-sized beer garden, which is sort of a mix of a smoking area (at times) and a rather nice place to have a meal. They even had a decent beer on tap as well, so I did quite like that as well.

However, this pub was actually pretty cool, especially when you consider the beer garden out the back. Yeah, that had a pretty awesome mural on it. It was also a pretty nice place to sit as well. Sure, it had a beer garden, but that seemed to be standard out in the country, though it turn out that the beer garden wasn't just surprisingly good, but pretty large as well. The service wasn't bad at all, and what surpised me the most was that they even had a couple of nice beers on tap, something that I certainly wasn't expecting from a a country pub. Yeah, this place was pretty good.

From the first encounter with staff at reception to waiters and chefs I was treated with the utmost respect and warm friendliness. I had difficulty selecting from the menu and while I was deciding I was given a tasting of a special wine from the owners cellar purchased on a recent visit to McLaren Vale. My selection for main was honey glazed duck breast with roasted parsnip and onions, served with classic orange infused red wine jus. Wine of choice was a Bleasedale Mulberry Tree Cabernet Sauvignon. An excellent choice. I chose for dessert Raspberry with Tarragon Infused Cream Millefeuille. Absolutely delicious as a credit to the chef!! Most happy to recommend the Horsham International Hotel and its Ducks Nuts Restaurant to all !!
