Shop is fully renovated Modern & straight to the point, with some extra comfortable waiting chairs. They take walk ins, Roman in the first chair is nice with it also ... I have never walked in, I don't like waiting, it's played out. Always called ahead w/ Boris. Located inside a shopping center with plenty of parking & paradise pizza next door is aight for a quick slice!

Now, it may also be that I get an old-school, "regular," haircut, which may make it easy on them, but, I am never rushed, no matter how many people are waiting (avoid Fridays and Saturdays! (same as any barber)), and am treated well. I'm not a chatter, so, they may engage me at the beginning with light banter, but, they realize I don't want it, so they stop. The barbers range in age, and there are even women barbers. As far as I'm aware (and have seen), they can do most styles, shaves, trims, etc; they do kids, and I've even seen them work on a woman! They'll even give you a hot towel upon request (I'm not sure if that's extra; I got one without having asked for it, but didn't pay extra for it; it felt great, but, I don't need it). The only "negative" I can think of is that, sometimes, they (and I) forget to do the ear hair, which is difficult for me to do at home with my trim razor (you can't cut what you can't see!). The cost has gone up a bit over the years, but, to get what I want without frou-frou nonsense or upselling or breaking the bank (under $20) is worth it! And I always give a $2 tip, which, from what I've seen, is double what they get from most people! I hope they stay in business for years to come! (and, for the record, though they might recognize me, they wouldn't know me from Adam . . . or his hair!) ;)

Treat yourself to a hot towel shave which is very relaxing and worth every penny. The shop features some grooming products such as shampoos and styling products. Nothing fancy or exotic, but convenient and reasonably priced. One downfall is that they are closed on Saturdays for religious observations, but do have full day hours on Sundays. I've been in barber purgatory for about two years. Once my previous barber moved out of state, I was left searching far and wide for a cut that left me feeling fresh and satisfied when I left the chair. Today, at Commitment Barbers, Arthur provided the best haircut I've had in recent memory. His friendly manner, attention to detail, and appreciation for the craft was totally evident. this is the WORST barber shop on long island they screwed up so bad. I walked in to the barber shop february 17 2023 thinkin was bout to get a fresh cut. Then i was seated and this man ruined my life. I asked for a little off the top and he gave me a EDGAR. I don't know what he was thinking but it ruined my career. These are the most professional and skilled barbers I've ever had the pleasure of giving me an amazing haircut. I would even call them artists of the trade. David gave me a great cut. He asked me exactly what I wanted before he touched my hair. He took a lot of time on my hair so it would come out perfect.
