We were running late and actually walked through the doors about ten minutes before closing time. Hoping that the branch wouldn't close early on us, we quickly walked in to be greeted by a smiling Jason. He and his manager were at their desks, obviously ready to go home for the day, but still offered to help us out - without questioning what we needed or how long it would take. Their attention to my younger sister was really good; they were patient and Jason was easy going and joking around with her which made her feel really comfortable. They solved her banking problem smoothly with a few changing of passwords, issuing of documents and we were through the automatic doors before the branch was officially closed.

Perhaps the name puts people off as you would think that you need to be a staff member of Qantas, but the reality is that they have a pretty liberal policy of who can join including if you know someone who has an account there ;-) , or work in Aviation, Hospitality, or Government.... The big advantage of this credit union is that they charge very low fees, give great interest rates, and have great service. What more could you ask for.....well perhaps the other thing is they don't have many branches, there are ones at most of the large airports, but to be honest I have never found this to be a problem as the ATM card is accepted at Westpac/St George ATM with no fees, and you can make cash/cheque deposits at Westpac branches too. I used to bank with a large bank, and they charged $5 a month fee, I changed to QSCU and there are no monthly fees, and i get a transaction allowance. Hopefully this doesnt sound like an ad, but I love this organisation, especially as an alternative to the big banks with their fees.

Went in and asked two staff for something…read more The first staff insisted the bank needed to charge me a fee to obtain the service, although I have obtained this service free of charge several times from the branches in the city. Then I approached another staff, but this one was worse, spoke bad English, and confirmed there was no such service. Headache! How is the training conducted?? Worse of all, they can't even be bothered to ask their seniors. I think this branch is overstaffed. When I first went in, two staff just pretended to be busy ignoring me, later I saw another staff coming chatting with one of them, while I was still waiting to be served. There doesn't seem to be anyone supervising the staff.
