The real point of difference offered by the QPCU is customer contact. So refreshing to talk to someone actually in the same city (for Brisbane callers) as you. Staff manning the phones or on the counter are always very friendly and helpful. Credit Unions, unlike banks, are run for the benefit of members not shareholders and it shows through time and again. It's a cathartic experience to break free of a big bank so if you're thinking about taking the plunge, as Nike say, just do it! You won't look back.

Admittedly, I was very confused when the invitation said it was at the Queensland police credit union, and still confused when it was explained to me that it was on the roof of it. Anyway, the location is in a great spot completely overlooking the river/Southbank and the city. One downside was that guests aren't able to enter the lobby or use the elevator unless someone comes down to the ground floor with a key and escorts you upstairs. The rooftop itself was nice, spacious, and like I said has great views. There is only one female bathroom and one male bathroom. One mirror...ONE mirror...take a moment to picture girls attending a 21st birthday having to share this one mirror with everyone else including males. The bathrooms were very very dingy/dirty to say the least, and the girls bathroom door doesn't lock properly. The function seemed pretty lenient, the rooftop was fully decked out with 21st birthday banners and music. You can bring your own alcohol as long as it is not in glasses. Cool spot I suppose, if you get an invite to a private function here definitely check it out if only for the view.

The service here is great and they are tailored to univeristy students, giving great advice on loans and all things study related. They know what it is like for us poverty stricken uni student and it seems like they genuinly care about us. There are two ATMs outside the branch and you will often find quite a line for them, especially around lunch time. There is also another two Commonwealth ATMs hiding near the Student Centre that many people don't realise are there, so if you want to avoid the line I recommend these. On a whole, this Commbank is definitely one of the nicer ones I have been to.

I found the staff very helpful and willing to give me the best possible info about student account options, having as they did thorough knowledge of how important it is to 'pinch pennies' as a student (if only I had fee free banking still!). The only slight downside here is that during peak times the queue for the ATMs gets quite long. But hey, maybe that's a sensible savings enforcing measure: "Do I really need that $20 to go the pub?" I had an SMS telling me my application was being processed 2 hours after I had walked out. Beats the post! There's an ATM out the front if you happen to have an account with them, and the staff are all very lovely. About the only branch in Brisbane, most of their stuff is online these days, but worth a visit if you're with them or are going to sign up.

I have been with ANZ since I was a yelping wee little thing and for a reason. I take my customer service really seriously. I am one of those people who don't appreciate the fake hello's and sarcastic looks tellers give me and my kids running amuck. This Mt Ommaney branch has a little section in the waiting area for kids to muck around, and I have never in the 20+ years I have been going there had a non-genuine smile. It's OK to be grumpy people! Dolores, who helped us with our home loan, Natasha who kindly offered to meet with me to review my accounts and see if there was anything she could do to save me more money, Renee who is the branch manager, always ready to answer the phone. The ladies and gentleman in this branch are testament to why this branch, this bank is my favourite one to go to. I've always been greeted with genuine kindness and sometimes concern. I've never had to wait for a long period of time and they have always gone above and beyond to help me out. If there were 20 people in line, they would still be happy to chat to you about other options even after your transaction. Can't speak more highly of the staff here.

Not just for the same home loan, but plenty of other enquiries too. I know a few staff on first-name-basis now and when they see me walk in there a little nod of acknowledgement. If you get a ticket to see the Teller, that doesn't take too long, however, you could be there awhile waiting to speak to someone in regards to your enquiries especially from 11am through to 3pm on weekdays. Bring your favourite magazine or a book as there isn't much to do as you wait. This is the only frustrating thing at this ANZ. It's almost as if there aren't enough staff for this busy branch. Other than that, when you do get seen, it reminds me of why I keep coming back. The service is akin to non. All questions are answered and explained and they go above and beyond to make sure you've got the most out of your time with them. It's full of professional and friendly staff- great bank!
