They're both incredible ladies and very motivating. Recently, during the pandemic, I have done online Zoom personal training sessions with Sam. She is absolutely magical. I had no energy today, but we worked out anyway. And it made me feel so good to sweat. She intuitively seems to know the exact exercises I need. She challenges me, but is very supportive. Thank you, Sam. Your amazing! I highly recommend checking this gym out. And trying the personal training. I feel like I get a much better workout with a trainer. I'm not a wealthy gal, btw. I only buy training sessions when they're on-sale (2-3 times a year). And they have a few ways to earn points that can be traded-in for trainings. I really appreciate these efforts they make to make fitness more affordable for everyone.

I really liked this gym, which is why it's especially disappointing that I ultimately decided to…read moreleave. One of the main reasons I chose an all-women's gym was the sense of privacy, exclusivity, and safety that comes with knowing the space is specifically designed for women. Recently, the gym hired a male massage therapist, and the massage room is located within the same area as the gym. For me, that fundamentally changed the environment. It defeats much of the purpose of paying the premium price for an all-women's facility if men are now regularly present in areas where women are working out and receiving services. The gym has also opened a café that leads directly into the gym. Since the café is open to the public, it has brought people into the space who otherwise would not have access to the gym. I've noticed men lingering around the café, which made me increasingly uncomfortable. Unfortunately, the coffee hasn't exactly been good enough to make that tradeoff worthwhile. At this point, I have to question whether the owner is more interested in taking women's money than protecting women's safety and preserving the environment that made this gym worth the premium membership price in the first place. That may not be the owner's intention, but that is unfortunately how these changes have made me feel as a member. I understand that a business can evolve and expand its offerings, but if the gym is moving toward a more co-ed experience, I think that should be communicated transparently. The value proposition of an all-women's gym is very different from that of a traditional gym. If the exclusivity and privacy are being diluted, members deserve to know that before paying the premium price. I really enjoyed working with the trainers here, and I would still recommend connecting with some of the personal trainers if you can find a way to work with them independently. There are genuinely great people here. Ultimately, I left because the gym no longer felt like the all-women's space I originally signed up for. I hope the owner seriously considers whether these changes are consistent with the reason women chose this gym in the first place. I also anticipate that the owner's response to this review may emphasize the gym's commitment to women's safety and explain why these changes are supposedly consistent with that mission. I would encourage prospective and current members to look beyond the polished response and consider the actual changes taking place. For me, the issue is not what the stated mission is; it is whether the experience and policies in practice continue to reflect that mission. Unfortunately, my experience has led me to conclude that they no longer do.

Your basic gym, and I mean that in the best way. Very few meatheads as a rule, and the ones that…read moreare there are the cool kind who just like working out a lot. Mostly very Portland community members. A fair number of regular older folks-- myself included, I imagine-- and an otherwise diverse crowd (for Portland, that is.) It's been meticulously clean in the months that I've been going there. There's always someone walking around wiping things off, redistributing weights to their racks, and just generally keeping the place clean and functional. I used to go to 24 hour in Hollywood, and I always felt like I should get a penicillin shot afterwards. I literally listened to a guy talk about his staph infection IN THE SAUNA. And the bros. Oh boy. It's hard enough to get comfortable going to a gym without a bunch of performative insecurity on display. I've read these "I joined on an impulse but then I decided I wanted my money back" posts and imagine that has to be a non-stop thing at a gym, but if you really want to just go somewhere to exercise, I can't imagine a better deal. The MAC's not giving your money back, either, by the way. Pros: Cheap. Clean. Well equipped. Pleasant vibe. 24 hours. Did I mention cheap? Cons: I could use fewer TVs, honestly. Gotta complain about something, I guess. There's no pool, sauna, tennis courts, whatever. Not cons so much as just true if that's what you want.

It's disappointing to see this framed as a financial favor. The "free months" referenced were…read moreactually credits for periods that had already been paid for but during which services were not provided as advertised. These were not gifts; they were adjustments for time the facility was closed or unavailable. In addition, I had posted funds to my account for future months and was never told they needed to be manually applied. I was later publicly criticized for not doing so, despite never being given that information. I was also concerned when the owner attempted to publicly share my personal information on another platform. That content was removed after a cease-and-desist was issued. Consumer protection laws address situations where customers are charged for services not rendered, which is why those credits existed in the first place. Rather than addressing concerns, the owner chose to personally criticize a former member for leaving an honest review. That approach reinforces many of the issues other reviewers have already described, and it has the effect of drawing more attention to those reviews. Situations like this make it difficult to feel comfortable as a member or to resolve concerns in good faith. I hope the business chooses to focus on improving the member experience rather than attacking customers who share their experiences.

I am absolutely trying to figure out how to incorporate spherical paper lanterns into my home lighting scheme. I've only attended a few classes so I can't speak to their entire breadth of instructors and yoga styles, but those I have attended I have enjoyed. Instructors have been friendly and welcoming to everyone, suggesting modifications as needed. All necessary materials have been supplied except yoga mats (it's a $2 rental). They do various workshops/events/series/promotions, like yoga for bigger bodies, sound healings, yoga for scoliosis, a promo for people who bike to class, gut health workshop, etc. Pricing as of today on their website: $45 new student one-month intro, $18 per drop-in class, $160 for a ten-class card (expires in 6 months), $75 for five-classes monthly, $85 for unlimited monthly. They offer a scholarship program and a work study program. Street parking only. Nice to be near some food and drink options for happy hour before or dinner after class!
