Yesterday we had to put down our beloved Hunter. The decision was hard to make but after months of illness and his quality of life was dwindling we knew what we had to do for him. I needed a vet for an urgent last-minute appointment and was referred to Community Critter Care by another local veterinary business. I was very pleased with Dr. John and how he handled my cat. He is knowledgeable and caring. He took the time to explain what was happening, as well as what I needed to do at home. He made copies of information for me to take home and read. He goes out of his way to research things to make sure he is providing the lowest prices possible for lab tests, shots, etc. He explained things to me that other vets have never told me. He even has a given day/time (Wednesday's 4-6 pm) where people can bring their pets in for vaccinations and he doesn't require an exam fee. That is a big help for me, as I have 6 cats. I have brought in all of my cats for their shots over the last few weeks and he has consistently been kind, personable and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Dr John and his vet service. read more

I moved into the area several months ago and needed an emergency vet visit. I called and made an appointment at a different vet's office but my boyfriend got the address wrong and ended up at Community Critter Care. Even though he did not have an appointment, Dr. John took the time to do x-rays and a full check to ensure that our puppy would be OK. Since then, we have been back 3 times and he never disappoints! I have had dogs my whole life and never had a vet show so much interest or genuine love for my animals. My puppy has yet to leave his office without belly rubs, kisses, and a game of fetch! Dr. John is the best, caring and most attentive veterinarian I ever met. We had an appt last minute, and John carefully examined my pet, Zeena. He was super patient and wanted to learn all the information I had for him. He did not rush us at all. Every step of the way he made sure to inform us what kind of exam he'd perform, costs, etc. As promise he called us next day with exams results and carefully went through it with me over the phone. I never write reviews, but I felt this one was very much needed. CCC is the best vet I have been too. Compared to other bigger clinics. I have been there twice and my second visit was a surprise since my pup Winston had been having diarrhea for several days and then suddenly wouldn't go to the bathroom. Dr. Magerkoth truly does care for his patients and he quickly took some time to come out and chat with us briefly and reassure us that there was nothing to worry to simply monitor Winston and bring him back in a couple days. Flexible scheduling and great pricing and above all great customer service. The doctor, his assistant and the gentlemen upfront Great job. Irecommend him to all my family and friends. read more

Hi everyone. Let start by saying Dr John is an amazing vet. I have seen more than my fair share of vets from Virginia to the Marine base at Camp Pendleton California. Dr John and his assistant were amazing, and allow me to explain. First off my German shepherd (Hans) is very aggressive, I explained this in detail to Dr John and his assistant prior to go for the visit and he explained exactly what he was going to to get control of Hans and I was amazed at how quickly he got control of Hans, the next thing I know Hans is sitting right next to him on the floor. Dr John and his assistant is very informative and explains EVERYTHING, he is not the type of vet who just tries to force everything on you and this is what my fiancé and I really liked the most. If we ever move I will continue to have Dr John and his assistant as our vet wether we're 2 hours away or 3 hours away. Do yourself AND your pet the favor of having him as your vet....you won't regret it in the least. Thank you Dr John and your assistant for being our vet.
