There needs to be a no star option for places such as Community Home Care. I have worked for them for more than three years. There was no interview; they just do a basic background check and take anyone they can get. Their business model is a revolving door based on quantity, rather than quality and even in quantity they fail. While I have managed to get some consistent clients with them, my clients always complain about the other aids they received prior to myself. The support office staff works on a whim; I frequently have to work unpaid hours to pin them down to answer simple, time-sensitive coordination questions. They have left me without any support, despite desperate calls when dementia patients were physically attacking me in real time. I would never recommend them to family, friends or even people of which I am not fond. That they have not been reviewed and had their license revoked by the state is the perfect example of a corrupt, broken system. As someone that has worked for this company, I am telling you do not go to them to obtain aid for your loved ones. Every client that I have had thought that I was a godsend, and I continued working for this company due to my genuine care for them and realizing their options in home health care were limited. Seek help elsewhere if you can. NY state needs to perform a proper review of this company. read more

this business wouldn't even get a star accept there is no option for none. I dont understand how a business that is in charge of elderly care can be so unreliable and inconsiderate. If you can get an aid they dont show up or call and there is noone to replace them. The elderly can go how long with no food or meds if family relys on you. very disappointing and sad. read more

Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. Staff is impossible to communicate with and simply don't care. Aides are not screened or trained. I've been stolen from, stood up, had my meds stolen aide after aide sent and they couldn't get me someone regular. Many spoke Horrible English and wanted to sit and play on their phones. One assaulted me. Cops and APS were here. Don't use this Horrible company! read more

HR is a joke. If you have an issue and you don't sit back, shut up and accept their words a solution to your issue, even if their answer is wrong, they will hang up on you. They don't wanna deal with the public. They will dance around your issue with meaningless nonsense and when you call them out on it, the phone call will come to an abrupt end. They all stick together so dont think for a minute that your words matter. They don't. Payroll department is ok i guess. But too many other issues that need to be addressed and unfortunately aren't. The aide destroyed my washer and dryer combo set and the company refused to fix it! My coordinator refuses to listen to a word I say and then had the nerve to raise her voice at me! I heard other people and agencies/insurance complain about them. Now I see what they mean!!! Oh, and watch out the aides have very sticky hands!!! read more

This is the worst agency for elder care. I am on my 4th allegedly live-in aide. They lie when they tell you that it is 24/7 care. The aides STOP working after 9pm and do not resume work until 8am. My mother could be on fire at 10pm and these aides will NOT help her until 8am! The first lazyass asked me to take her grocery hopping. I did it to keep peace. After we leave the second store, she asks to go a 3rd store. I told her No. I called to complain about the aide to the case mgr. The case mgr waits until I am out of the house & calls the aide to tell her that I want her to leave. The aide breaks my mother's glasses. I finally tell the aide to get out. She tells me, "Don't rush me!". I called Community again and told them that my next call was to the police. Of course, Community called & told her to leave. Community replaced her with a sickly aide that had difficulty seeing. She went to bed to get her 10 hrs of sleep. During the night, my mother with Alzheimers tried to leave the house. This lazy aide did not move to assist my mother. She told me that she does not get paid AFTER 9pm so she does not have to do anything. Of course, I called Community and told them that she had to go as well. I am now on my 3rd aide from Community. She also does not do much to help my mother. I asked her if she helper my mother bathe. She said that she did. I then asked her why does my mother smell. She said it must be her nightgown. Sooo you wash someone up thoroughly & put back on the same nighthgown? WTF??? I called Community again to tell them about this aide. The case mgr tells me that she extended the aide for another 10 days WITHOUT telling me! WTF??!! This experience has been really awful & super stressful for both me and my mother! read more
