I've spent up to an hour and a half on hold trying to speak to him. He was very heavily medicated for some time. He hasn't had his beard shaved in months and often appears in need of a shower, his hair dirty. He has lost a tremendous amount of weight. This week he was rushed to the hospital for organ failure and found to be dehydrated. This is basic care, not complicated. If you have any choice at all as to where your family member goes, seriously consider ALL OTHER options before letting them stay here.

The place is horrible, you walk in and all of the elders are highly medicated. The food is "bird meat" as my Auntie calls it. She has lost so much weight from the poor diet they have provided her that her dentures do not fit anymore. We have asked the nurses to have her food chopped up so that she could eat it and they will not. The nurses are always going out to get food and bringing it back. So you know the food is horrible! Her doctors had her on some medications that were causing her hallucinations and put her in comatose state. she could not recognize any of the family for days. Until she was taken off of the medications he had her on. It seemed as though in order to make the nurses job easier, they heavily medicate all of the patients. It is very sad. Anytime she has called for the nurses to take her to the bathroom, they ignore her, so she attempted to go on her own and ended up falling and breaking her wrist. Luckily she only bruised her hip. I am discussed with this establishment and do not advise anyone to allow their elders to spend their last days there.

Both providers were excellent. Good communications, flexibility where needed, and personal attention that went beyond the minimum to help me begin my recovery. I am now in my fourth week, and my recovery continues at a rapid pace...which I attribute largely to really good nursing and physical therapy assistance. In fact, the first visit by the PT NURSE just might have led in saving my life! She routinely checked blood pressure, and discovered it was precipitously low. She made sure, called the doctor, and that led to Emergency Room treatment that corrected an internal bleeding issue and allowed me to continue recovering. I have found Kindred HomeCare personnel --Erin, Angela (PT), Hannah and Jessica (nurses) to be professional, yet warm and friendly, and very effective. I commend them without reservation. The pros - - The administrative staff is great - Porscha, Jessica, Natalee, Sunshine and Jo Lucke have gone out of there way to address our concerns and make sure my Mother is treated like a valued resident. - The physical therapy team is fun and motivational - Drucy, Darrel and Paul do their best to keep my Mother on the right path to physical recovery. - The CNA's and nursing staff in the long term wing are pleasant and compassionate. At least most of them are - and its easy to steer clear of the one or two folks who act as though they hate their jobs. Lol. - Facility is clean and the meals are typically well-prepared and visually appealing (not sure about taste - lol). The cons - - The short term wing - needs a complete overhaul. The staff in this section seems to comprised primarily of young, unprofessional, easily irritated / impatient workers who got into nursing strictly because it's a consistent, dependable opportunity for a paycheck. There's a few good ones - but about 80% of the staff we encountered during her first stay here were rude, unprofessional and lacking basic empathy skills. - Large facility with lots of beds and for some reason, very little parking for folks visiting certain wings. - The staff can be a little inconsistent regarding the resident rules. - The staff can be a bit unprofessional and gossipy - which can be challenging. Overall, I think this place is awesome and would recommend it to anyone considering long-term care for their loved ones.

When you are ill in the hospital and they ask you to pick a company off a list for follow up home health, you have no idea who to chose. I guessed WELL. NURSE KELLY WENTWORTH, has now cared for me for 9 months and counting. She has kept me OUT OF HOSPITAL for 9 months going on 10. When I met Kelly I had been hospitalized every two weeks for three months. On the occasional week when Kelly has been unable to make it, they have the nicest and sweetest nurses who fill in. Everyone in the organization is top drawer. *Another AMAZING SEVICE is On Call Nurse 24/7 you can call for help right there and then, even the middle of the night. THERE GOAL IS TO KEEP YOU OUT OF THE HOSPITAL, IF POSSIBLE, BUT ARE KNOWLEDGEABLE ENOUGH TO KNOW WHEN YOU NEED MORE ADVANCED CARE. God willing I'll keep getting approved for more care.
