14 years with this bank. 7 figures deposited. Numerous loans paid off as agreed. Never an overdraft. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BANK. THEY WILL COME AFTER YOU TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW WITH ABSOLUTELY NO REGARD FOR YOUR PERSONAL INTERESTS REGARDLESS OF PERSONAL REASONING BEHIND ANY FAILURE YOU MAY HAVE EXPERIENCED. During the pandemic I, as well as many, experienced a great hardship after reduced work, cancelled projects and reduced direct deposits. How did Community Resource Credit Union react to my hardships? CRCU hired an attorney to sue me over credit card debt. NOT overdrafts, fees and other banking expenses, just simple credit card debt. My credit card debt was about $11K. FIRST THEY SEND OUT A PERSON TO DELIVER A LETTER FROM CRCU EXPLAINING THE DEBT OWED. THIS IS THE VERIFICATION TO PROVE WHERE YOU ARE LOCATED AND WHERE THE CONSTABLE CAN FIND YOU TO SERVE THE COURT DOCUMENTS. GREAT DECEPTION. While they could have written off the loss, as many banking institutions do, I refused to let that happen and requested additional time to pay off the debt. While they offered reduced settlements, I often stressed the fact that my debt was MY DEBT and only I was responsible for paying it off. HUGE MISTAKE. During the lag time of acquiring the funds to make payments, they systematically- through personal decisions of certain banking staff- debited my account for maximum amounts according to the amounts of the deposits that were being made to my account- without as much as a phone call to advise. At the end of the crisis- up to the moment I was about to pay off the whole and complete amount due- CRCU was still offering the reduced amount. Why? Had I only paid the reduced request CRCU was offering, I would not EVER be able to open any other bank account- AT ANY BANKING INSTITUTION ANYWHERE- as long as a judgement remained unpaid FULLY. THIS WAS THEIR TACTIC- TO FURTHER RUIN ME TO THE FULLEST EXTENT. I PAID THE FULL AMOUNT I OWED AND OWE THEM NOTHING TODAY. I ALSO PAID THE ATTORNEY FEES OF ABOUT $1100. read more

twice now this outfit has left me high and dry while traveling. they have their little policies and they won't budge a tiny bit even if their customers are in a serious bind. today I desperately needed them to transfer $150 from either my miner market account or checking onto a bank card. they told me it would take until the next day to do this. when I get home im closing my account with them even though it is a huge PITA. let's face it - all financial institutions are crooks, we all know this, but these people are the worst ive come across in 50 years. ive read the other reviews and they are exactly on target. the default answer to any customer request outside the ordinary is NO. Went to make process a cash advance and was told that they were not processing cash advances, asked why and was told because our CEO said so. So before I pulled up to the drive thru, I noticed 4 employees inside the branch just standing around so I don't understand why it couldn't be processed and not to mention that I am a member. I never write reviews, but I am so aggravated at this credit union. I have been a member for years. I moved 3 hours away and still kept banking with them because I believed in there great service. I experienced fraud with my debit card a few years ago and the transaction was stopped and never aloud to go thru. Now present day! I have had 3 fraud disputes in the last 2 years and it has taken 2 weeks to get the money back. I should not have to worry about the gas stations I use my card at or restaurants. I really believe they have the worst firewall protection on there debit/CC. I was even told this last time that it could take up to 10 days for an investigation because there fraud department is so backed up. All I can say is carry cash, do not use your card at pumps!! read more

Our debit card was cloned by a skimming device from a Woodlands gas station. Our account was hit hard. My husband arrived at the Decker Drive location around 4p yesterday and met with Elizabeth Garza who was very helpful and to our surprise, all money and fees were returned to our account the same day! We're convinced our fraud case was resolved because we bank at a hometown credit union versus one of the larger banks where we would merely be an account number. I'm actually surprised to see other bad reviews on here, since that has not been my experience at all. My dad has banked here since I can remember. I actually left Wells Fargo and switched to CRCU and do not regret it. I've always had pleasant interactions with the employees. My direct deposit goes through a day early always. You are able to speak to an actual person which is helpful. I just recently got my own auto loan through here and was very pleased with the experience. I prefer big banks, such as Capital One over small town credit unions. Community Resource CU employees have not been helpful in the last 2 years I've banked here. I have (2) loans with them and they reported me to the credit bureaus because I have been slow paying the last few months, they didn't try to work with me much less notify before they reported me. So again, this is another reason I maintain a large sum of my business with big banks. read more
